Allegedly.. Meghan Markle Is 'Preparing To Sue' Prince William.. Meghan Markle's legal battle: Prince William title cuts threaten Sussex business empire

This extraordinary move, according to well-placed royal sources, stems from a palpable and growing fear that Prince William, once he ascends to the throne as King, may move to strip the former actress of her title, Duchess of Sussex.

This possibility has become terrifyingly real for the Californian-based royal following the recent, highly publicised, and definitive actions taken by King Charles III against his own brother, Prince Andrew. The King formally and unambiguously stripped Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of all his remaining royal titles, styles, and honours in October 2025, an unprecedented move designed to 'slim down' the monarchy.
This decisive act, reportedly urged on by William and Catherine, the Princess of Wales, has served as a stark and worrying pre-cursor for Meghan.

She is not prepared to wait for a fate similar to her disgraced uncle-in-law.
'Meghan's not taking any chances and she's willing to fight to keep her title,

Omg…

How can you sue someone for something they might or might not do in the future?

myrtleWilson · 22/11/2025 16:21

But you said 'KW suffered and had not even pulled through...who hadn't pulled through?

Monarchs choose their regnal name.

Albert became Edward VII

Another Albert became George VI.

Quite a lot of QV's grand daughters had Victoria as their first name at their christening but were known by another name. Charlotte of Prussia for example, and Patricia of Connaught.

I don't think Queen Mary was ever known as Victoria, her family nickname was May.

very rotten and said to be a Nazi sympathizer and everyone knows the National Democratic Socialist Workers party or Nazi party did not stand for RFs so was stupid or trying to selfishly look after himself only and leave Britain to the Nazis as Socialists and run off to the US and probably not France if that had happened so was a betrayer and evil if what you say is true. Before long the files will be made openly available as Public Information. Damning for any family let alone a RF considering the shame and betrayal of the British now with CW Head of State. He must have been openly known to be in the USA as they would have had ways of finding out his talk after all. J

Day drinking?

Are you quite alright, J?

Surely William looking bad is good for the republican movement?

I suppose so. But that is surely not what this thread is about? I’m interested in the small p politics of it. Who does what and why. I know loads of people think William is going to take the Sussex titles away- I’m interested in why he might do that and wether it would be a good move.

CurlewKate · 22/11/2025 17:43

It’s shocking how many Nazi sympathizers there were among the English upper classes. And actually more shocking how many among the intellectual classes…

I think it’s because William ‘threatened’ change as his main goal when asked in the Eugene Levi interview and it’s good click bait to speculate about what that might be.

I think he’ll do something connected to hereditary titles but I’d bet anything he won’t make it retroactive.

The only possibility re Harry’s titles is if he did something significant which was affecting the Crown or the UK government.

People are starting to catch on that Harry and Meghan do not represent the UK gov or have any connective power despite attempts at ‘royaling’ in Canada and Columbia etc.

In ten or so years, say, there’ll be no real impact or threat from the American titled kids and their parents so better to ignore and focus on rules for the future.

What's the rationale for them keeping the titles? They no longer live in the UK, and probably never will again. They don't represent the Crown in any way, yet they use the title and association for commercial gain, something that presumably everyone is wary of post Andrew. Harry has purported to speak on behalf of his father, in particular in Canada with First Nations peoples, when he has no mandate to do so. They have repeatedly attacked the RF, accused it of racism and "empire 2.0". Harry is a drug user and associates with sketchy people in his new life. They have brought the RF into disrepute. They will never be working royals again, so what is the point of them retaining a title from a family and institution they vocally despise? And why do republicans like you advocate for them?

There were many Nazi sympathisers amongst all classes, all creeds and all colours up to an including WW2. The English upper classes had access/means to vocalise (and yes, intellectualise) their hatred, but it was certainly not unique to them. It's more shocking that, after everything we know happened during the war, and with all our modern sensibilities towards race and race relations, there are many, many Neo Nazis across all classes, creeds and colours today.

Good point @Indianrollerbird!
I have noticed that “othering” seems to be not only something that happens based on skin colour but also class , it’s wrong regardless of the person.

I don’t advocate for them. As I said-I’m interested in what’s going to happen going forward. I don’t care what happens to the Sussexes. I just think that they are gong to sink without trace, but if William does anything like taking away their titles they will just get more publicity.

I was only aware of a despicable neo nazi white supremacist movement. Hitler declared the germans the 'new aryans'. You are aware of other colours creeds and classes involved?

So “getting more publicity” is a reason not to make a bold move to slim down the RF, and make it an institution completely dedicated to the constitutional role, more fit for purpose for modern times and not caught up in the machinations of hangers on? They’ll get “more publicity” for a little while, there will be bleating, most of the British public will roll their eyes and then the matter will die off.

Yes.

I know the Nazis had devious propaganda though a defined ideal and 'homeland'. I have wondered how the ideals are presented to those who do not fit the Nazi Idealist doctrine without fragmentation amongst those involved. A wide following would suit neo nazis and a movement where many are drawn in quite obviously.

PodMom · 22/11/2025 18:43

Guess she could always change her name by deed poll. Katie Prices did is called Princess. First name Duchess, middle name Of, last name Sussex. Sorted!

I am interested in what was said as a human being. I was awaiting a response about the despicable movement mentioned. As far as I am concerned Nazis were a German Political Party and dispanded long ago. They should have as much following as the pre second world war British Labour Party as far as I am concerned. ie none. I am sure you agree.

I think there are better ways to “slim down” the RF without creating a media furore. I suppose we will see in due course.
