Here's a link to the talk on YouTube: Andrew Lownie describes "Entitled" as a book about financial corruption by a senior royal.

The daughter is only 4 years younger than Zara, and Mark Phillips had to be dragged kicking and screaming to acknowledge her, DNA tests etc

And that doesn’t surprise me now.

He seems curiously disassociated and seemed almost to be feeding off it all at the same time. There is something a bit odd about him. He makes me feel uneasy.

I think he's now determined to do as much as he can to bring Andrew MW to justice. He knows a lot more than he was able to put in the book.

Here's a Daily Beast interview with Andrew Lownie from yesterday about the current fallout, and what might happen.

He mentions all the backlash he's received from "their" team. Including slurs that he was interested in young girls.

He thinks Andrew MW might have to go abroad to a country (MIddle East...) with no extradition arrangements with the UK in order to escape eventual prosecution.

Lownie has two or three people a day coming forward with more information, apparently, including former protection officers.

He talks about the forty prostitutes who Mountbatten Windsor shared with an Arab prince in Thailand, and later going on a trip with his mistress of the time. In Hong Kong he took over the floor of a hotel and had prostitutes there. He opened a golf course and asked for sixteen year old blondes to be brought to him!

Edited

Lownie was talking about the paperback edition of Entitled last week. He may just find himself putting out Volume 2 instead.

QuenchedSquirrel · 05/11/2025 23:05

One thing he mentions in the interview was the abhorrence of Sarah Ferguson taking her daughters to see Epstein just so she could get money off him. 😫

@QuenchedSquirrel etc have you seen this:

71 teddies - why? A laminated sheet of where they sit on his bed & he flies into a rage if moved!

A lot more that’s just unreal.

Talking about questions being asked about why Beatrice and Eugenie have apartments in London at the palaces when they're not working royals.

He seems to have taken against B & E after his research saying they share all negative characteristics of parents.

I think he says in the talk that he's a disillusioned monarchist.

Let’s hope there are many more disillusioned monarchists in the years to come! We need these people to turn out in deference to actually open their eyes and see the toxic family they’re fawning over for who they really are.

And we need to drop the expression “working” royals! They wouldn’t know work if it punched them in the face 🤬

I don't feel sorry for Beatrice and Eugenie.
They are adult women who have made choices. It's their responsibility if they have done anything like this.
Eugenie set up a charity to support victims of slavery, I don't see how you could do that and not reflect on what Dad was up to.
I suspect they'll always get a free pass, though.

I don't believe much money raised has actually gone to victims .....

I think many would sound disassociated talking about this stuff bc of the overwhelming amount of info overload and trying to keep track of it all. Hearing him talk about the foi requests that were blocked, NDA's, etc, it's a lot.

MaDugsAFud · 06/11/2025 03:10

I had to take a break reading the book as it was just so depressing and seedy

These allegations implicate Andrew MW in sex trafficking and various aspects of criminal conspiracy concerning prostitution, which was as illegal in, say, Hong Kong then as it is now.

I’m not surprised Charles and William are spooked, especially if it looks like QE2 was told at the time and looked the other way.

It's not outside the bounds of probability that this was her way of trying to right a wrong, or at least try to atone for it, even if she couldn't admit to herself who had perpetrated that wrong.

WaryHiker · 06/11/2025 05:11

QuenchedSquirrel · 05/11/2025 12:15

If Andrew has a son by another woman, I think that would be hard to come to terms with too especially if the mistress lived at Royal Lodge. What a bizarre set up, was she known as one of the servants or what?

Although in times past the boy would be called Fitzsomethingorother and be given a dukedom. Wonder if he feels hard done by!

I'm amazed with all his exploits that there's only one child out there tbh.

Fitzsomethingorother

What an absolutely excellent name! I'm thinking about suggesting it for our new grandson.

WaryHiker · 06/11/2025 05:12

QuenchedSquirrel · 05/11/2025 12:43

I guess Mark Philips wasn't one of "them".

I think if Andrew having a son became something the press decided to report (Andrew Lownie would not have mentioned this in his talk if there was any threat of libel), it would be part of his scandal.

Does Mark P's daughter have a relationship with her half siblings I wonder. Did B and E know about their half brother before now?

I remember reading early on in his relationship with Anne that Charles and Andrew had dubbed him Fog because they thought he was both thick and wet.

Words fail ...

I believe (happy to be corrected) she set the anti slavery charity up with a friend before Daddy's exploits with Epstein became public knowledge

eggandonion · 06/11/2025 07:33

If you Google Stephanie Phillips wedding...lots of photos in which she looks like Zara. And Anne and her family were guests! I think Mark's other daughter was in Australia or New Zealand?

I agree @JeminaTheGiantBear Andrew wasn’t the only one partaking of the orgies so why aren’t more names popping up? Because they are better protected? If there really is an Israeli angle on this I can imagine that Trump will do everything to stop that from emerging.

Edited

I agree with you both.

I’ve said before and will say again, all those vile men and only a dead man was behind bars and a British woman. Those poor poor girls.

I hope with seeing the stuff coming out about Andrew, that those others involved are quaking. They deserve everything coming to them.

I think if you scrutinised almost any of the Royals you’d see what many would now imagine to be shocking excess. It seems extraordinary to me that the household staff & protection officers earn little & still have to show deference.

Yes, I always thought it must pay well to be a member of the Royal Household staff.
At least I was certain that the senior staff were paid well.
Then it comes out that Andrew and Fergie were not even paying some of their staff, fired some without severance, and the pay is as peppercorn as his rent was.

It seems the pay isn't anything to write home about for staff in the other Royal households either.

Andrew Lownie is class.

The gentleman doth enjoy it rather too much. Is my personal impression.

In the daily beast program, impartially seems rather abandoned. He is congratulated for his book being partly instrumental in the removal of Andrew's titles and greater scrutiny of the HoW spending. He doesn't push back against it.

I wouldn't say he was necessarily nice himself and I definitely would say there's something personal in the way he's going about revealing the rot. He is going after B&E now quite fiercely. I'm not sure they've warranted that scrutiny.

I don't when he intends to stop. Disillusioned monarchist perhaps has switched to full anti.

Appreciate the revelations nonetheless, but I do feel similarly uneasy about it.

On the point of B&E royal grace and favour apartments have all royals using those been 'working' royals? Haven't the Gloucesters and the Kent's also had apartments in Kensington Palace?

I don't know that I have a huge problem mentally with royalty having rooms in royal palaces, if you have a title, why not rooms in a palace...but my thinking on all this has been rather challenged since I have come to the conclusion that the Monarchy needs to be disbanded, but certain thoughts are still hard to...align.

The Gloucesters and the Kents are cousins of TLQ and used to be full on working royals in their time. Apart from a few engagements they are retired (DoK is dead) now but I don’t think they should be kicked out of their G&F homes because they’re old and doddery.

The Duke of Kent is almost retired, aged 90, but has done 30+ engagements this year.

The Gloucesters are still very much active and, between them, still do approx 200 engagements per year, which is pretty good at age 80.
Nobody should be kicking them out of anywhere!

I agree. That said we don’t know what Lownie has discovered. As I said before if you scrutinised anyone in B & E’s circle you’d likely find lots you could spin to make them look out of touch & unpleasant.
