If they put Andrew in Wood Farm, the ghost of Prince Philip will arise from his grave and cause chaos.

ShenandoahRiver · 01/11/2025 21:38

Philip was not in ignorance of what Andrew was doing.

If you’re talking about me, I was talking about Sarah Ferguson.

Edited

No I wasn’t talking about you.

Philip was not in ignorance of what Andrew was doing.

It doesn't mean thst he wouldn't be pissed at the current situation. No title, a US politician trying to get him extradited, RF scrutiny, etc.

I’m no fan of the royals, and even less of Mr Mountbatten Windsor, but I can’t help thinking he might be a bit of a fall guy. He was far from the only one to enjoy Epstein’s dubious hospitality, where are all the American guys who were also getting their kicks on Epstein island? Have any of them been publicly shamed?

ShenandoahRiver · 01/11/2025 22:07

I think the White House is suppressing details.

TheGander · 01/11/2025 22:09

I’m sure it is too. Trump has the judiciary pretty much muzzled. Very few law firms are taking him on.

The determination to mention Harry on these threads about Andrew is laughable.

Yeah totally. Ridiculous. Not in any way comparable.

This may answer a few questions.

With Trump blocking the release of the unredacted Epstein files it makes it hard to name and shame the others involved.

But I am feeling more and more confident names will come out. There’s things happening on various fronts. I’d like all the guilty predators in gaol. Whether they go to prison or not who knows? It’s possible though, as Epstein, a very wealthy man himself, ended up there. In prison, and then dead.

Andrew opened himself up to being sued by Virginia. And then having to settle, when Virginia was given the go ahead to file against him, because he wouldn’t risk a court case especially not in a country not his own - as someone else on here has said. No one is just picking on Andrew alone. He’s not a scapegoat or fall guy. The other wealthy and powerful men we’ve so far seen mentioned in earlier released court documents from the Maxwell case have kept their mouths shut, Denied any wrongdoing, or said nothing.

I’m still bemused how these men could get on a private jet named The Lolita Express and be so unsuspecting of anything going on.

Yes, thanks for posting it. With Epstein and his activities being investigated on so many fronts I’m becoming more confident the truth may out.

I remember reading about Bill and Mandy, when I was young and feeling very uneasy. But also admiring the pictures of her dressed in the beautiful trendy clothes he bought her.

But it was so openly accepted - he was allowed to carry on, no one attempted to stop him - that I figured it must be okay. This was the social mores we lived within then.

Men admired for being predators. And girls and women blamed - as ‘sluts’ and all the other words. Some of that thinking is still accepted today.

They say they were different times. Some of it is different now, but too much is not different.

It's possible there were some people who fell under the spell of celebrity adoration culture, but it certainly wasn't universal.

I remember my parents being extremely suspicious of Jimmy Savile, and my mother loathed Bishop Eamon Casey of Galway even before she had the misfortune of meeting him in person. People born many, many decades ago weren't all idiots.

No, of course it wasn't universal. That was why I said that some girls would wait at the stage door just for the autographs.

Abra1t · 02/11/2025 08:50

My Dad, born in 1930, made us turn off Jimmy Savile if he appeared on the tv. But then he was stunned when a family friend abused some of his children and his wife threw him out.

Esther Rantzen’s work on bringing in ChildLine did bring a lot of light to bear on the victims. They were at last given a voice and people were shocked at how widespread abuse was. Not just obvious weirdos on tv but that kind man, your work colleague or golf partner, who lived a respectable life.
