The prime minister allegations are easily to be found on X.

mjf981 · 31/10/2025 11:30

I wonder if the Palace knows that release of the Epstein files is imminent, or at least inevitable?

And people wonder why Trump was wined and dined by the Royal Family en masse?
You do understand that as the representative head of state, this is expected? Hosting official state visits and welcoming foreign leaders is literally the bread & butter part of KC3' job description. And the invitation for a state visit is issued on the advice of the UK government, not at the King’s personal discretion.

But it must feel clever and fun too hint at some conspiracy 👀

Patronising much?

No president has ever had 2 state visits before. And the level of pomp, ceremony and royal family involvement over 3 days was also unprecedented.

It’s not much of a conspiracy theory. Trump has said as part of his election campaign that he will release the files once victim details have been redacted. And obviously Andrew is in those files, as we’ve all seen via the emails that were leaked over the past couple of weeks.

Flixon · 31/10/2025 11:32

@Franpie, honestly some people would make a conspiracy out of weather patterns ..

Well the Queen kept Andy in the fold despite many nasty allegations and ridiculous interviews. Charles has done his best to ignore the whole thing. I’m just curious why now. Nothing new has been proven. Yes there is bad publicity because of the biography but the RF have tried their absolute best to sweep this all under the rug. What was the straw that broke the camel’s back? Why basically admit they think Andy the freak is guilty?

Edited

Many of us are wondering that, Kahar, and I expect the action's been taken in the hope it'll all die down and no more will come out

Given the family's (and in particular Charles's) taste for befriending paedophiles - to say nothing of the years they've gone on enabling Andrew - you didn't really think it's because they condemn what he's done did you?

So he will be Andrew Windsor? Will he get a council property!

This would be the perfect punishment. Just perfect. The Bentley getting torched 🔥

By God there is almost a revolution on MN. Not that long ago there was talk of the RF generating billions of tourist £ and what wonderful value/examples they were. Now the covers have slipped off I can hear the peasants rattling their pitchforks (about time too). Kate will be all over the magazine covers soon to take our mind off this current news.

The whole circus rests on the premise that members of this family are better than the rest of us. They aren't. The words 'highness' and 'majesty' being literally part of their names is just ridiculous. It sounds like something from a Disney cartoon.

The only difference between them and anyone else is that one of their ancestors was more ruthless/violent/in the right place at the right time etc. and grabbed hold of the crown.

I would never bow or curtsey to anyone, and to be quite honest, least of all anyone from this shameful, grifting family.

I think William is the driving force behind this. His disgust was palpable at the Duchess of Kent’s funeral and yes I do think it’s because he condemns what he’s done.

Thomasina79 · 31/10/2025 11:37

He is still likely to end up somewhere quite large and exclusive. I say put him in a damp one bedroom flat and make him work for a living! Creep

Except the invitation was handed over live by Keir Starmer personally, who aso gushed that this was an unprecedented second state visit - because the UK government was going all in on buttering up Trump. This was UK diplomacy in action, and the King had nothing to do with it beyond signing the invitation as he had clearly been told to do.

Starmer plays royal card as he tiptoes around the madness of King Donald

The British prime minister is the latest would-be Trump whisperer from Europe to butter up a capricious president

I was about to suggest he get a job as a care assistant but he clearly can't be trusted with vulnerable people.

EllesmereP · 31/10/2025 11:40

Does Andrew being made to move and stripped of his pointless titles mean that the scrutiny of his rent arrangements has stopped? A few days ago people were starting to ask questions about finances of various members of the royal family and it would be a terrible shame if that is now considered closed.

anoldermum · 31/10/2025 11:40

NConthe · 30/10/2025 21:30

No, they spend the holidays at Anmer Hall on Sandringham. They’ve never been very far from Andrew and seemingly that will continue.

Can’t be that pissed off with him.

Oh, I hadn't realised that. My cousin also lives nearby. Hope she doesn't bump into him in the pub.

The decision to offer a second visit was the government's. Trump had already refused to release the files before he was invited. It's a big problem for Trump among some of his supporters but he is refusing to do what he promised. I suspect because there is something in there he doesn't want known about him.

Does anyone these days think they are better than us? That seems a very very old fashioned idea. These days I think it rests on the fact that they have a constitutional position and that demands a certain level of behaviour from the working royals. Andrew being the walking embodiment of 'conduct unbecoming' had to be removed.

BemusedAmerican · 31/10/2025 11:45

Andrew Lownie said in one of his Vintage Read interviews that his next book is on Harry and Meghan.

Epstein had many other clients. Yet none of them are being divorced by spouses, denounced by relatives, etc. in both the US and the UK.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 31/10/2025 10:46

@RhododendronFlowers- it doesn’t matter that the taxpayer isn’t funding it, he’s still being given a free property. The king owning it privately vs owning it as a monarch is fudging.

H&M had Frogmore taken off them and were not offered another UK property, one owned by the King privately or as part of the royal estates. If H&M are to be expected to put a roof over their own heads (rightly I think) then why not Andrew?

Why would H and M need to be offered anything by the King when they clearly don't want to be here? Surely the King is not expected to fund his errant son's lifestyle in another country.

I think it's fairly obvious why Trump wont release the files, even he's not that stupid, he knows exactly the names in there and how close they are to his front door.

Still living in a (no doubt large) tax payer funded house.....
Yes, however you phrase it, Sandringham is ultimately paid for by us, money better spent on the NHS.

The NHS needs to look at how much money is wasted first of all, especially on non-medical well paid roles.

Absolutely. It's fascinating that this is the one thing he can't wriggle out of. Maybe he should have avoided supporting the Q anon conspiracies?

Serenster · 31/10/2025 11:53

waitamo · 31/10/2025 10:46

But where did the resources come from to acquire Sandringham in the first place? Us, the taxpayer, Sovereign grant, inherited wealth (where did that come from initially) and so on.

There is a lot of obfuscation about "not being paid for by the taxpayer" methinks!

Victoria first bought Sandringham in 1862 as a gift for her oldest son Bertie (later Edward VII) who was shortly to be married to Alexandra of Denmark. It was his personal property and so was inherited by his sone George V and then by his oldest son Edward VIII in turn.

George VI bought Sandringham from his brother after the abdication (Edward had never liked it and the family clearly did not want a “King-in-Exile” based in the UK. Also, Edward needed cash). He paid in £289,000 for the estate, funded by the Duchy of Lancaster. George VI had access to the Duchy of Lancaster as he was King following his brother’s abdication.

As for where the funds of the Duchy of Lancaster came from, the bulk of them came from the estate of Blanche of Lancaster who was the only child and heiress of one of England’s wealthiest men when she married one of Edward III’s son, John of Gaunt, in 1359. Blanche’s inheritance from her father went to her husband after she died aged just 26 and form the basis of the Duchy of Lancaster. As their son Henry Bolingbroke became King Henry IV, the Duchy became Crown possession and has passed from monarch to monarch ever since.

I was not allowed to do the meet and greet with Andrew as I wouldn't curtesy.
I'm off for a breast screening today, bet I'm having a better day than him!

The usual briefing when meeting a member of the RF is that curtsying is optional and that was over 40 years ago when we met P. Anne. Nothing was said about ogling her seriously gorgeous bodyguard though!

HelenSkeleton · 31/10/2025 11:57

Well done Charles.

Andrew will be in the jungle next.

If they are merely fulfilling a constitutional role then it becomes very reasonable to ask what services they are supplying that couldn't be provided more cheaply and effectively elsewhere. I'm certainly not sure what the point of them is. I know people mutter about 'soft power' which is conveniently non specific and hard to quantify. It looks to me like nothing more than wearing expensive clothes and smiling a lot.
