Meghan has just popped a video clip of herself in the back of a limo with her feet up travelling through the streets of Paris. Is this rather insensitive given the way her MIL died or is it perfectly normal to post such stuff?

To change the subject back to the Instagram feed. Anyone else notice that honey is the new sprinkles? Meghan is putting it on everything.

It is very beige but i wonder if that is because this is for Thanksgiving not Christmas?

Another complicated narrative you appear to have constructed here Kate...

Fair enough-you’ve repeated it, so I will comment. Do you think it’s usual, when commenting on a child’s similarity to his uncle, to clarify that you’re not suggesting the uncle is his father?

Yes, because if she hasn't you would have got people immediately jumping on to say that's what she was insinuating.

As always on MN - anything remotely not fulsome enough about H&M gets twisted anyway.

Saying a child resembles an uncle is a normal thing to do.

Both kids will have dual citizenship, British and American due to their parentage.
I just think they are less likely to struggle with their identities if they get to know their father's country and culture. They are members of the British royal family and once they understand better what this means and that their parents both deprived them of a connection to their heritage, it is likely to cause a lot of issues. The family could have 2 homes, a nice stately home near a top day school and a naice Californian mansion to holiday in.

They don’t have a dual culture though do they, they live in an exclusively US culture. They look and sound like Americans. They have no knowledge of a life outside their Cali bubble.

They are related to the royal family by birth but have no relationship with any of them. Have any members of the RF other than Eugenie visited them in Montecito? I doubt it.

They will never be invited into the life of the royal family, no-one other than Charles has shown any appetite for including them at all. I think it might actually be harmful to the children to try and force them into a culture that is alien to them and where they clearly aren’t wanted or needed.

Meghan has talked about “building community” in Montecito. I hope she’s managed that for the sake of their children because that’s where they belong.

Ohpleeeease · 29/10/2025 08:27

I think it’s against the rules to edit other than for typos so I want to correct what I said above, I said Charles was the only one with an appetite for including them but on reflection I’m not sure there’s any evidence that he does want them included.

Justdancevance · 29/10/2025 08:33

My kids have similar fine red wavy/curly hair, and they hated getting it brushed and it looked messy in seconds, but I don’t post their images on SM, just on the family chat, and I had similar hair when young.

The video isn’t great. Some great points here on why. That comment about ‘freakish attention to detail’ will haunt her to her grave 😀

I’m looking to do a renovation so just look at SM for ideas so don’t see lots of pumpkin patch videos, but it looks like a shit video I’d have videod myself and realised afterwards but sent to my mum anyway.

as an aside, anyone with any interior designer styles they love, let me know please (found Amber Lewis an American) but looking for someone with a more european twist

Rather than try to twist other poster's words in order to imply something similar was suggested, when it's clear that it was not, would you care to address the comments about Harry and Meghan's actions? Do you agree that those who are supposedly very aware of the harms of social media should not be frequently featuring their own children on social media? After all, there's absolutely no reason why anyone of us should ever see the back of these children's heads.

And yet Harry seems to think they can choose to be working royals when they turn 18 !!

Dont post their images on public SM platforms whose whole basis is about public engagement and comments.

When you do so - you are absolutely inviting comments.

What a sad indictment on humans that you say this...so women also should dress a certain way so they don't invite certain comments too etc... what a sad world we have turned into.

Her daughter looks neglected and a bit feral. Poor kid.

Here is an example of an awful comment, calling a child a bit feral....seriously ...looks neglected..come off it

Spectre8 · 29/10/2025 08:58

AtIusvue · 28/10/2025 18:02

The child should have her hair trimmed, conditioned and put up, out the way to protect her hair from becoming tangled ( as it can then hurt a child to brush them out)

Thats not happening. This is simple, basic ,personal care. It’s not difficult.

Edited

Another criticism of why isnt her hair neat...well whose child has perfect hair all the time and if thats the pic she wants to post whats the issue in a world of people alwsys posting perfection its good to see reality od life and people.

EmpressSisi · 29/10/2025 09:07

I’m confused why commenting that a child resembles his great Uncle is offensive?

Or commenting that it’s unusual for the children to have red hair? The red hair is recessive and needs to come from both parents. Given that Meghan and Doria both have black hair and brown eyes, those dominant genes would typically prevail, but it seems that Thomas Markle’s red-hair gene came through strongly. Which makes sense, since the children really do resemble him.

I agree.
I assumed that the link wasn't initially given because it's a very weak example to back up the statement that their parentage was questioned.

ConverseAddict · 29/10/2025 09:16

People will always talk about red hair. I have friends who both have red hair, so do their children. People still comment and talk about the tone of their hair and how it’s a different red to them.

M&H were booed at the baseball last night.

Absolutely not what I said, so dont twist my words.

We're talking about children, and the issue of parents sharing their images on a global platform.

Instead of stirring things by twisting other's words, do you have any comment about the actual issue?

Although it does prove that they weren't forced to leave, and how much they love all things royal.

There is a difference between perfect hair…and hair that has had a brush through it.

Personal care and hygiene for children is important and the responsibility of the parent.

Lili’s hair is far too long for it to be left hanging down unbrushed and unstyled. If the child prefers to wear her hair down, then at a minimum, she needs the length taken off it so it doesn’t form rats tails.

It’s why many little girls have bobbed hair . If not, then their hair is tied up if there’s any length to it.

This is basic stuff. Very basic stuff.

But go on….come up with some excuse of why it’s good to neglect a child’s hair.

In many ways they are more Royal than the RF !
I honestly can see W and C having a monogrammed doormat !

OrangeAxolotyl · 29/10/2025 09:23

Yeah, I've noticed that about Princess Lilibet.
In all honesty, they ought not to use their kids on sm at all. Of course it puts them out there for comments.
They've criticised other people for doing that. They probably got an award for it, I can't really remember

So Meg has her big PR drive to flog her Christmas crap….and what do you know?….overnight we’ve had a deluge of meghan supporters 😂

What are the chance aeh?!

OrangeAxolotyl · 29/10/2025 09:31

I suspect that they just leave hair brushing and dressing the children to the nannies, so if they take them out without the nannies,it doesn't register, iyswim.
I shouldn't think the child is neglected! It's just they're not on it like the nannies are, probably.

Saying a child resembles the uncle is certainly a perfectly normal thing to do. Going on to say “but that doesn't mean I think he’s the father” is not a normal thing to do.

Good point - all covered of course by the generic 'Holiday'
