I don't expect a list of the girls...I just want the sources to come out and say whether the girls were in fact underage. Someone must know. Perhaps they do that in the book? If so, that would put his Epstein activities in a clearer light - although I accept the girls in that case weren't technically underage.

I don't know what part of "Thailand is a corrupt cesspit" you don't understand.

The lives of poor teenage girls and young women are cheap in South East Asia. Girls are trafficked left, right, and centre.

Do you imagine the young women you see on the streets and in the bars and massage parlours of Thailand all have passports and valid ID and are doing what they do because they find it empowering?

It's a nice place on many ways but tend to agree...It's the only place in the world visited over the years where I saw a taxi driver put a large denomination note inside his licence before handing it over to a cop at a random traffic stop...

There's no way you're going to establish the age of those young women.

I cannot relate your utterly bizarre and non sequitur of a comment to anything in my post. You’ll need to explain your point better.

For a start, it’s wildly aggressive and…’Thailand is a cesspit…I never said anything like that. You’re mixing me up with another poster.

But basically, calm down. It’s just a discussion.

Looked to me like that was a pointed response to your comment that, with regard to the Thailand story:

It's really really is quite probable given the circumstances that nobody knows.

As I already mentioned CoffeeCantata
another journalist, a friend of Lownie, has already corroborated the Thai story from two entirely new and separate sources;

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/articles/exclusive-details-prince-andrew-thai-135410010.html

Lownie is also calling for a proper investigation by the National Crime Agency and said that he’s willing to give them all of the evidence in his files that didn’t make the Final Cut of the book.

Andrew Lownie has put the necessary facts in his book and no more precisely because he doesn’t want to be gratuitously salacious.

He can’t win though!

If he puts too much information in, then he is accused of being deliberately prurient!

And if to add balance, he includes a discreet paragraph told in very factual terms about the CSA , then he is criticised for not giving enough detail!

It’s surprising to me that this hasn’t been picked up on more.

Indeed, one source told me that rumors abounded among the Thai demimonde that Andrew and another foreign dignitary—who also regarded access to a revolving door of female bodies as part of the perks of office—were sending girls to each other via luxury car services in a horrific power play masquerading as a twisted mark of respect.

This ^^ if true would make Prince Andrew a sex trafficker himself.

CurlewKate · 23/08/2025 13:10

As a side point-I’ve seen a lot of people commenting on the supposed 1000 women he had sex with. Thinking about it, is that a lot for a mostly single man in his 60s with status and money? (If no class?)

Sadly probably not. Andrew is disgusting but he is not the only rich entitled man to behave like this, not by a long way. Just think about rock stars and actors and other wealthy men

One quick question I'd like to ask , for those who have read , are reading , listening on audible , does anyone wish they hadn't. I think some of it makes hard reading and there are bits I'm so cross about , but I am glad I have read it and , personally I think it's as near as we're going to get to a well researched biography of hugely two controversial living royals. I know there are those who think AL has an axe to grind. I don't tend to that view but no matter.

Just to say I do not know AL and have no skin in the game of him selling more books.

No, I don't wish I hadn't read it. Far from it.

Haven't quite finished yet but not far to go. To say I am shocked, angry and completely gobsmacked at what these two got up to is a massive understatement.

HappySummerDays · 23/08/2025 14:34

The absolute grifting this pair have got away with for 40 years absolutely beggars belief. There is no way that senior members of the royal family are unaware of it.

binkie163 · 23/08/2025 14:38

@BasiliskStare
A customer of many years who I am quite friendly with worked for and travelled with SF for years (post divorce) and has always been really positive about her, so the book is completely at odds with what her experience was. Tbh I always thought being married to PA must have been awful, he just seems such a pig. SF has stuck by him as father of her children but the book certainly sets her out as every bit as untrustworthy and vile. I haven't read the book just the press snippets and on MN I don't personally find any of it unbelievable. People who never have consequences do as they please, no moral compass or conscience.

TheAutumnCrow · 23/08/2025 14:39

CurlewKate · 22/08/2025 17:57

Presumably it was redacted because of who it was.

Was his mouth covered to avoid lipreading it? Otherwise I’ll have a look if anyone can point me to it. (I lipread.)

I don’t-but DP has asked me to stop telling him bits- he says he doesn’t want any more of it in his head.

Agreed, Though I think the venality and crass entitlement of the Yorks would bring out the inner tabloid journalist in the most staid of historians. Theirs is a tabloid story really. It’s quite difficult to be detached and judicious about such aberrant goings on.

Well quite. Very well said 👏

I think it was with Andrew (another one) Gold but there are 2 parts…possibly it was the first. I never pay enough attention to where info comes from, then I go on MN…when will I learn?😀

That’s a shame because if it could be established that they were, and that Andrew knew that, it would be a big deal and possibly have an influence on his Epstein activities.

What I’m getting at is that A won’t have organised this himself - someone in the delegation or a British diplomat, or one of A’s aides will have information. Not the person who procured the girls but someone else will know.

jumpingthehighjump · 23/08/2025 17:06

As he was there with Epstein, I imagine that man had fingers in many pies and he would be the one organising the girls... after all, they were swapping them between each other from what I read.
I don't think diplomats would be doing this.
This is not something we will ever find out, in my opinion

You still don't seem to understand that there are no means of procuring women for a VIP that are not completely criminal, sordid, and outside of the law, and that Thailand is a corrupt cesspit and what that means.

It means, in short, that nothing is as it seems. Birth certs, passports, ID cards, attestations from doctors - all could be fake. Front desk staff, bellboys, and room service staff at hotels act as pimps. You can buy anything and anyone.

There is no such thing as a reputable source for prostitutes. Anyone using the services of a prostitute in Thailand in the belief that the girl or woman was who she said she was would need their head examined.

I said Thailand was a cesspit.

You persisted in asserting someone should be able to track down info on the girls or women at the centre of the allegations.

I repeated that Thailand was a cesspit.

And I'll keep on telling you that, because it is, and it looks as if you don't understand what exactly that means when it comes to the lives and the horrific vulnerability of poor young women and men, and poor girls and boys. It is notorious for its corruption and its trade in the bodies of the poor of both sexes and all ages.

HTH

jumpingthehighjump · 23/08/2025 17:55

Parts of Thailand are beautiful BUT

The country is rife with corruption, gangs, sex trafficking, child exploitation and of course is most well known for its sex tourism industry. The trouble is some (not all) politicians are corrupt, as are some (not all) police. And the Russians run gangs over there. There is apparently 1 million sex workers in the country and for Andrew to be over there involved in this is just unbelievable but I don't think we'll be tracking down the ages of who he was having sex with any time soon.

Wasn't it Ghislaine Maxwell who was procuring the girls?
I thought that was largely what she was jailed for ...

Ah - thanks, Jumping. I hadn’t realised he was there with Epstein - I thought it was on one of his Trade Envoy jollies.

That makes sense - how disgusting. I had visions of corrupt officials aiding and abetting, so at least that wasn’t th3 case.

No. Its well written and I think fair. I watched a couple of interviews with him and thought he came across very well too.
