The Era of Joy didn't last long.

This is going to be interesting, it's going to be a full on PR onslaught for the next few months, and then we will have Harry launching his very own 'commercial project'.

Clearly an article straight from the Office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, giving an exclusive to the DM.

I am puzzled, what is wrong with that? Why can't she post pics of herself with her daughter?

I've seen it, it's really sweet and we don't see Lili's face, it's just the back of them walking towards a hive
This sounds like criticising Meghan just for the sake of it 😂

Nah it is weird, just another emerging trend shes jumping on without having a clue. Whoever the child is doesnt have their hood on properly which is dangerous, grifting the children even if only partial parts of their faces are ever shown on social media seems odd for people so keen to protect their children. Of course she can post what she wants, people can also comment.

Her numbers on IG have fallen, she had gotten up to 3M followers, now back down to 2.9.

IG must have had a bot clearance or something.

I don't think she posts regularly enough to build up the numbers and most of what she posts is pretty impersonal. The successful influencers these days offer the illusion of followers seeing their real lives.

But she and Harry were adamant that their DC would be brought up out of the public eye . The one thing I admired them for . But now they are using them for PR .

What else do they have.

It’s like the titles they made such a fuss about choosing not to use (when they weren’t entitled to). Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are going to find them a PITA.

The kids could be in a lineup and I wouldn't have a clue what they look like, they are out the public eye.
Up to them. Mother posts pictures of the back of her daughter's head on IG. What on earth is wrong with that, and how is it PR, was she advertising something in the IG post?! It's criticism for the sake of criticism.

TheMeasure · 26/05/2025 09:43

So, I've been musing on what would/will happen at the next State event that Harry and family might be expected to attend, e.g. the King's funeral or William's coronation. Assuming Archie and Lili attend, we'd all see their faces then (and the previous embargo will make those pictures all the more gossip-worthy with the added danger of switching the focus to the Sussexes instead of the matter in hand). Would H&M insist on their faces being pixellated??

MayaKovskaya · 26/05/2025 09:46

They could wear beekeepers' outfits.

😂

Its all very Michael Jackson level of hiding the kids faces

I don't understand. It seems to me on this thread that she is being criticised for hiding her childrens' faces, and at the same time criticised for not showing their faces.

I think they've done great with this. I doubt the children would go to the coronation or the funeral. Just my personal opinion of course.

MayaKovskaya · 26/05/2025 09:53

You think they've "done great", @Extiainoiapeial ? Seriously?
In what way have they "done great"?

You will see that the actual topic of conversation at this moment in time is about the children. I think they have done great with keeping them hidden from endless pap shots.

That is why I said "I think they've done great with this" referring to what we are talking about at the moment 😊

Protect their children from "pap shots"?
What famous children, including Royal children, get regularly papped? None.
They are using their children to promote themselves. Today's picture underlines this. Look at Princess Lilibet in a beekeepers' outfit! Click.

I doubt Harry will be invited for coronation. Also it seems unlikely M would attend so would the children attend.

But they don't have to show the children at all, the media doesn't post photos of them besides the photos and videos they release themselves, and there hasn't really been any rogue posts on social media by members of the public even. What are they gaining from taking them from almost total anonymity to posting snippets? They don't share enough to really gel with people as as 'influencer' (which i agree is the right thing), and the children don't really feed into any of their projects- so why? Of course the answer because they want to is fine, its up to them, but again why invite comment by doing it if there's nothing for them to gain from it?

I doubt William would have him at the coronation. KC or other family members funeral - yes most likely.

I don't know what their children look like because we just see mostly the back of their heads. I think they've done great keeping it like that.

She really looked sweet in that beekeepers outfit in my opinion.

Let's agree to disagree.

Thedom · 26/05/2025 10:04

Not showing their faces is almost irrelevant, it about her having them perform for the camera ........ stirring jam and being videoed, collecting honey and being videoed, watering flowers and being videoed, decorating cakes and being videoed etc etc. all in their own home,

She is jumping onto the family vlog bandwagon for money, except their father seems to be excluded for the action in their case.

She'd have looked sweeter if the hood was on correctly. Either they weren't actually going to be doing anything around bees so it didn't matter but is disingenuous, or she has no clue how on proper safety and shouldn't be including her children.

Yes indeed. Because the only pictures we get of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are the ones which are released by their parents for promotional purposes. So yes, we will need to agree to disagree on this.

The lives of those children would appear to be centred around being filmed and photographed. It doesn't matter if we don't get a full on face shot. Those children are, it would appear, almost daily in the presence of photographers or film makers.

Looking at the images of people's expressions when H&M arrived for the Platinum Jubilee service it's possible they may not even want to be there ...

Exactly, and all to promote their mother's products.

I know nothing about beekeeping and whether a hat is on correctly, it all looked good to me!

She looks sweet. From what I see of her of course.

TheMeasure · 26/05/2025 10:15

They were clearly too young to attend the Queen's funeral and the subsequent coronation. But I would think that now they're older, Harry (and likely Meghan too) would want their place in history secured by attending the funeral of their grandfather, the King.
Doubt they'll attend their other grandfather's funeral, when the time comes.

It’s not. And at 3 - 4 years old she’s far too young to be safely involved in beekeeping at the hive end.
