If Kate got divorced how much would she get?

Just musing on this in light of Charles’ place on the rich list with a personal fortune of £640 million.

I dont know William’s personal wealth and if Kate has any individual wealth.

Was there a pre-nup and would it be legal?

How much would she get? Any homes? Jewellery? (Diana’s ring?)

I imagine William would keep residence of the children with her allowed visits?

What would her title be? Would she keep her HRH, or become another Catherine, Princess of Wales?

If they divorced after William’s coronation she’d surely get much more but not half of £640 million?

What would her title become then, no longer Queen? Eventually King Mother?

What if either remarried?

William could have another 3 children with a new Queen.

So many possibilities!

To quote the fictional old Lady Grantham:

when a couple is unhappily married] “Well, in those moments, a couple is ‘unable to see as much of each other as they would like.”

Edit: can’t see it myself or for the Sussexes tbh.

Edited

I can't see the Sussexes lasting tbh. I think they are being held together by being ' them against everyone else'. But I don't think divorce will result in a big reunion. Harry will probably still blame the press ( somewhat justifiably) and the RF.

I dont see the Sussexes divorcing ever. They seem to be deeply in love with each other. And even if that waned, the are committed to give their kids a loving together family. And beyond that, there is the public and business relevance of them staying together. They are a brand so they are staying 'salt and pepper' together

Can't see the Cambridge's getting divorced. Too much invested in presenting themselves as the perfect family unit over so many years for a start.

Who'd want to detonate a public trust bomb (and all the questions that would bring over all sorts) on that scale?

Yes this. Like the Trumps.

It's really really easy for rich people to stay married but live separate lives, avoid each other if they really feel the need to and come together for business and family events. It's really not difficult.

This is what I dont understand about the Royals divorcing so often. It must be so easy to hold even the most mediocre of marriages together.
No money worries, ample space, the risk if a shedoad of money going out of the family. You could just live in separate houses and have nothing to do with each other. Unless, like Charles, you were actually in love with another person ( and I don't think Chatles has ever looked as happy with Diana as he looks eith Camilla) you could just ahag around as much as you liked too. I suppose that's the old wsy and it's good that it's changed.

Don’t think the yorks would have divorced if it hadn’t been for the photos in the papers. C&D were clearly unhappy. Well mark philips fathered a child with someone else. So who knows!

Generally they only get divorced if the public image requires it...

Andrew and Sarah were living separate lives, but being photographed with another man sucking her toes while her two princess daughters ran about semi naked by the pool was something the RF were never going to ignore.

Charles and Diana couldn't hide their misery with each other and were a PR disaster.

Anne and Mark had both his secret child and her letters to Tim Lawrence that were leaked.

Anne and Mark in particular seemed to have a happy understanding plodding along with separate lives until media interest meant they got divorced.

Far better put @ARichtGoodDram

Good points!

If you look at the example of the Duke and Duchess of Kent. It's widely accepted that they've been living separate lives for many years. However, there's not the same level of public interest in them, there's been no glum faces on occasions when they have been photographed at events together, and there's been no scandal so need for the RF to push for a divorce.

William wouldn’t divorce. He doesn’t need to, he can just do as he pleases, discreetly.

Why would he blame the press? It's like me blaming my gossipy dad for talking about me when the only person I talk to is my gossipy dad
