Meghan & Harry fallout with Vogue's Edward Enninful

In summary, Meghan wanted the front cover of British Vogue and a multi-page feature about her and H's charity work, to be published to coincide with her speaking at One Young World in Manchester. Edward Enniful wouldn't agree so Meghan withdrew. Now she and Edward are nolonger speaking. There goes another relationship!

This incident seems to me to mirror their larger modus operandi. They overestimate their importance, have a grandiose idea, insist on things being done their way down to the smallest detail, and have a tantrum when they are opposed.

As a PR myself, I am bound to wonder about their role of their PR team in this and imagine with horror being forced to pitch to Vogue. One Young World isn't prestigious enough as a charity and Meghan not a speaker of sufficient clout to warrant coverage of the kind Meghan had in mind. IIRC she repeated her dish soap story again. So where's the headline? In a lather? Jam tomorrow? Substantial coverage demands a heavyweight announcement of something new with national or global significance.

Indeed. And they also hate approaches about non-stories.

Given what we now know about Sentebale and African Parks, with controversy around Invictus, and possible financial irregularities at Archewell, it's just as well the proposed feature didn't go ahead.

She would have been really hoping for a September cover.

I'm sure. That's unlikely to happen now.

Definitely not.

If if didn’t happen back then, when she was at her height, then it’s not going to happen now.

She probably still had another chance, had she stayed.

I read that article and the only thing that stuck in my mind was "steaming hot mint tea". Am I the only one that finds it a really odd phrase and a strange detail to include?

Yes I thought the same! Odd phraseology.

Glad it wasn't just me! I think it's odd because if something is hot it must be steaming so one of those words is superfluous.

We know she’s a bit of a control freak. Remember when she made The Cut describe the noises she made as ‘guttural’ 🤣🫣

I don't think Omid is ever going to be a serious threat to the literary legacies of Orwell and Hemingway 😂

Perhaps not but his cosmetic surgery is better 😄

Oh dear, they do seem to fall out with everyone in the end, don't they?

Which is so strange, isn't it?

BigWillyLittleTodger · 18/05/2025 17:49

It’s her MO isn’t it, if a “friend” isn’t useful, or they say no to her they are ditched, no wonder Harry says what Meghan wants Meghan gets, he must know if he doesn’t comply or becomes superfluous to requirements he’s next for the chop.

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 18/05/2025 16:40

Thank you 🙏

It’s a very striking image and I can see why they wouldn’t want to compromise on it.

It's a shame the stylist didn't straighten her hat before the photographer started snapping 🙃

Oh, that was Linda returning to modeling after that fat freezing treatment left her disfigured. Brave thing for her to do, I gather the disfigurement left her at rock bottom. That picture is absolutely stunning. I'm not surprised they didn't want to swap the cover story.

Nevertheless, they were offering Meghan a big spread and a camera crew to record her at the summit. And she flounced because they wouldn't give her - not he charity, her - the cover. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face!

JSMill · 18/05/2025 17:58

Meghan withdrew, which shows it was about Meghan, not about the charity.
I think it is clear, after observing M over time, that charities are just a vehicle for publicity for herself.

Mmm...
I wonder what she thought "guttural" meant?

I didn't know about the back story. Had I known, I wouldn't have made my flippant comment about her hat.

Demanding a change of cover is so high-handed!

Where’s the irony??

You're being serious and don't understand. It's the complete lack of self awareness. Someone taking part in yet another tedious thread telling someone to bore off.

Your post makes no sense at all.
Would you like someone to explain irony for you?

Please don't take my comment as a criticism of your comment, @IdaGlossop . I was just filling in the background to the Evangelista cover and story behind it. I don't have a view on the hat either way - although maybe a jaunty tilt is high fashion?!

HonoriaBulstrode · 18/05/2025 18:41

Oh, that was Linda returning to modeling after that fat freezing treatment left her disfigured.

Which is a far more important and inspiring story than Meghan promoting Meghan a not very well known charity.

(I like the hat tilt.)

Leo800 · 18/05/2025 18:45

Meghan is gradually digging her own grave. It’s painful to watch.
