Harry knocking on random doors in London

What a strange story! I’ve seen it being reported that Harry was wandering around a road in London, knocking on (at least 3) doors whilst looking for a friend 🤔🤣

How would you not know which house your friend lived at?

It's a very odd thing to do if you're afraid you're not safe on the streets. It's odd anyway as most of us, after knocking on the wrong door once, would text or ring our mate with 'what's your house number again?'

I imagine he was taken to / went to a friend’s house once and knows the road but couldn’t remember the specific address and was trying to figure it out. Although I know you’re enjoying yourself more making up drug dealing allegations and conflating targeted planned attacks with a person at a random wrong house.

She was clearly joking about the drug dealing.

MouldyCandy · 10/05/2025 00:13

Reminds me of Hugh Grant's Prime Minister in Love Actually looking for Martine McCutcheon.

I doubt he would be unlucky enough to knock on the very door where whomever is planning a targeted attack against him is actually living. I don’t think it’s just generally the British public at home that are a risk to him. Although, reading this thread, who knows! 😂

Why would you not know your friends address? Why not message them? Why knock on three doors half a mile away from each other. That has literally never happened to me or anyone else I know. Not sure if that’s a regular occurrence in your life but if it is I recommend google maps or asking your friends for details. Don’t go knocking on random doors, for your sake, as well as Harry’s. And you don’t even have RAVEC assessing your security!

I hear you knocking but you can't come in.
This in MN.

I’ve totally tried to remember where a friend lived before, and got it wrong. Maybe he doesn’t have their phone number and wanted to say hello. What are you suggesting?

Edited

What is he so afraid of then? That the Taliban or a Neo Nazi are going to be waiting for him at Heathrow on the off chance he wants to pop into the UK on two days notice 🤣

You would not know if all your life you had other people doing stuff for you - like everything, from squeezing toothpaste on your toothbrush to finding addresses of your friends, driving you there, arranging meetings. If people don't do things themselves, they quickly become de-skilled, be it rich people with servants or say, sick people, for whom relatives do everything to help, but de-skill them in the process.

StartEngineStop · 10/05/2025 00:16

To be honest, I’m no great fan of his, but I don’t get the big shock with this, other than it would be kind of funny to see him on your Ring cam.

LaurelAvenue · 10/05/2025 00:16

Is he losing the plot ??

Why is he even in London?

Did you knock on three random doors in half a mile radius before you got the right house? I would be surprised if you did, you seem an intelligent person.

It almost looks like he’s knocking on random doors looking for a drug dealer! How odd. Especially when he’s so worried about security. Why would he not know his friends’ address?

How few friends must you hav.! I don't know all of my mates addresses!, surely you don't eitherI have loads of friends and I don't know many of their addresses. even when I've been there a few times I can't always remember which house it is. Loads of places look the same.

Stop the press! Man knocks at wrong address before finding correct address!

Err do Princes regularly knock on your door? I'm 39 and I must say I have never heard of this happening to anyone I know

That’s weird. I know all of my friends addresses. But I don’t like to brag about how many (Facebook) friends I have so…🥰

Yeah, you’re right. There are never any kidnapping attempts on high value targets like billionaires and the royal family. Never mind, we obviously think through things differently.

So you just walk around knocking on random people's doors?

Do you decide to visit them without checking their address? Wandering for miles, ringing random doorbells?
Maybe you do, that’s why you’re determined to paint it as normal?
It’s not.

CreationNat1on · 10/05/2025 00:20

Maybe he was tracking some magic seagulls, and they spoke to him, leaving clues to the incorrect address. The sea gulls might have been disoriented due to PA and willy failing to provide sufficient nesting facilities.

Not specifically three doors in a half mile radius, no. I meant similarly.

I have no idea. I'm a MN and don't answer the door.

This is why mumsnetters don’t answer the door. There’s all these bloody randoms knocking because they can’t be arsed to ask and check someone’s address before knocking 🤣

You’re missing the point. The big man baby has cost the British tax payer hundreds of thousands when he took the Govt to court to argue he felt so unsafe in UK he needed armed security on call 24/7. Cue massive man baby being caught on Ring camera randomly knocking on houses looking for his mates without a care in the world. NOT the actions of someone terrified for his safety.

Definitely. I for one, would never knock on a random persons door, never mind three, and I’m not a person considered worthy of RAVEC protection. So we definitely should agree to disagree.
