Harry's new interview 2

Viviennemary · 03/05/2025 13:19

I just thought I would start second thread since I noticed the first one is full. It has certainly dominated media reporting. I saw a snippet on Sky news earlier. A document from Harry saying its a dereliction of duty to stop his security. Erm who just whizzed off to the USA and left all the duties behind. I havent watched the whole interview. I wonder if he'll appeal again.

I'm hearing talk of the BBC having paid him for the interview. Surely can't be right?! I hope someone does an FOI request!

I've already complained to them and awaiting their reply.

Someone pull that poor child's PJs out of his arse. Poor little sod 🙄

Unless Archie is 5 feet tall, that's an extremely low railing for a balcony. He has a lovely Ready Break glow!

Thedom · 07/05/2025 06:44

i don't know how people find this stuff, (or else it is leaked) but its apparently this villa on an estate in Mexico, owned by the Goldsmiths. (The balcony railings)

https://cuixmala.com/accommodation-overview/villas/casa-la-playa/

Running alongside 5km of pristine Mexican Pacific coastline, Cuixmala is an extraordinary haven; a luxury eco-resort where the boundaries separating humankind from nature are dissolved. Lush jungle and coconut palm groves roll into sweeping savannahs and lagoons, where protected wildlife, from zebras to crocodiles, roam free. Sensitively interwoven with the natural landscape, terracotta dwellings emerge from a sea of green, acting as beacons guiding guests through the property.

The 43 rooms at Cuixmala are spread across three distinct accommodation types. From the iconic Suites of the original house, Casa Cuixmala, and hidden Bungalows with exceptional views, to the complete seclusion of Villas nestled into the hillside, and the traditional charm of the Casitas; at Cuixmala, expect the extraordinary.

Utilizing fresh produce from the estate's biodynamic farm, the focus at the three individual restaurants is on traditional Mexican cuisine

Private villas can reach $7,700 per night

@RandyRedHumpback your observation was on the button, this review

I wondered how we would entertain ourselves for three nights in a place that seemed as though it had been designed purely as a hazard for kids.😀

Some properties try to appeal to families and do a terrible job, and you blame the property. But here, it’s just not kid-friendly, and that’s fine. I’ll summarise: don’t bring your young kids.

Casa La Playa - spectacular ocean views from wraparound windows.

An extraordinary private slice of paradise, Casa La Playa sits directly on a private beach and enjoys exquisite sunset views.

Wasn’t it one of the Goldsmiths who recently criticised Harry in the DM? Guessing if they did go there that it wasn’t a freebie?

Thedom · 07/05/2025 07:09

The review was written in March 2024, this made me laugh 😁

Conclusion

Cuixmala is like a high-maintenance, batshit cray friend who makes you question your life choices, yet you can’t help but hang out with them for the sheer drama and unpredictability. God knows what else I’ll discover in those endless documents I signed.

Since going here, I have yet to recommend it to any clients, as it’s so particular it’s only for a very, very specific type of person—someone on the sadomasochistic level that I am. Being a personal playground for its owners carries a certain allure, yet also a cautionary note, given the tales of how they have treated previous managers and private events that sideline guests.

In Summary

Kids Friendly - N/A - it’s a death trap.

Best room - Casa La Playa is a four-bedroom, beach front villa that starts from $7,000 per night

I guess Harry and Meghan are not like the rest of us with little kids, who grudgingly exclude the nice hotels that are 'not kid friendly' . even the swimmable beach on that estate is a 35 minute drive away.

I think that photo of poor Archie was actually him looking longingly at the beach he was unable to play in.

Ben Goldsmith is the half sibling of Alix Goldsmith who is the daughter of James Goldsmith from his first marriage. I seem to recall her mother died when Alix may even have been just months old and it was her mum who was Mexican, and from a very wealthy family. It’s Alix and her Italian husband who’ve made the resort what it is today over the decades since James Goldsmith died.

IsoldeWagner · 07/05/2025 07:32

Ben Goldsmith is the brother of Jemima Khan, a close personal friend of Diana's.
The whole family have been friends for years.

I didn't notice the low balcony rail but yes pp is right. I did wince at him staring into the sun. I hope he had him eyes closed.

stillclueless · 07/05/2025 07:52

Why all the criticism of a child’s birthday photo?

I assumed he was either wearing sunnies and they have been edited out or the sun has been enhanced for effect.

Either way it isn't a great photo. These back the head shots are pointless. It doesn't make me think "oh goodness, what amazing parents H&M are!"

What a weird comment why would a birthday photo make you think about their parenting skills. Does taking a good photo make you a good parent 🤷‍♀️

JADS · 07/05/2025 08:00

Interesting, it's only 5 days down the line, but Harry's silly interview already feels like chip paper. It may an initial splash, but I feel people have dismissed it as a whinge and a pack of lies.

I would be utterly pissed off if the Beeb paid Harry for it. Although as a public service, it seems to have helped the RF.

The VE day celebration definitely eclipsed it. Nice to see the RF with the veterans.

QueenOfHertz · 06/05/2025 21:45

Can you remember any of it?

I'll answer seriously. There was a bench and a Daddy and a child. They sat on the bench. There were lots of pictures showing people of different skin colours and hair colours.

Little Grey Rabbit wasn't in it, nor a tiger, nor an Aunt Spiker.

It's a nice photo but sort of symbolic, would have been nice to see him having a lovely time at his party with his friends 🤷‍♀️

Was this the one with the heart going “pump pump” or something? 🤔

TheMeasure · 07/05/2025 08:44

Why was Harry so horrified about the “shocking” discovery that there were Royal Household representatives on the RAVEC committee? Surely that’s to be expected, in order for people who know the workings of the institution to be able to advise? And also, Harry is not the only RF member whose security is discussed.
Whenever anyone tells you that they “know something” that will shock people, I always think that it won’t be that shocking at all. I’m rarely wrong!

Just another demonstration of his ignorance about his own country, government and the institution of monarchy. So embarrassing - but he's shameless about his ignorance.

The most priceless bit of the interview though, was his assertion that no-one had warned him that his legal case might fail. What a dope.

RandyRedHumpback · 07/05/2025 09:26

@Thedom , wow, that's good knowledge, thanks! I won't be adding that villa to my bucket list. It's the health and safety concerns rather than the price tag that bothers me 😉

I know! How the hell are RAVEC supposed to organise security if there's no member of the household on the committee to discuss travel, visits and timetables?

They probably thought there would be no point as he wouldn't listen anyway. He really is the absolute limit.

By osmosis perhaps? Wink

To anyone with sense the need for the household's input is obvious, but Harry - sadly not having any - will naturally regard their presence as an attept to do him over

If it wasn't so pathetic it would be funny
