Isn’t that a bit laissez faire though BigWillyLittleTodger?
Don’t you find it problematic that “the only thing we can do” is write to our MPs?
And what’s the point of doing that when current practice places limits on the questions MPs can ask about members of the family in parliament, which makes proper scrutiny virtually impossible?
Do you not find it unfair that the royals are exempt from so many laws of the land that apply to us ordinary folk?
For example, Charles is exempt from criminal and civil proceedings as the head of state.
In fact the King’s immunity extends beyond his public duties to his conduct on privately-owned assets, estates, and businesses.
Currently, more than 30 different laws bar the police from entering private royal estates without the sovereign’s permission to investigate suspected crimes.
Don’t you want to know if this exemption came in to force when Andrew’s activities were being investigated and he was hiding at Wndsor?
Charles is also exempt from punishment over wildlife offenses, environmental pollution, and other green crimes. which is a form of legal immunity given to no other UK private landowner.
How far do these exemptions extend to the rest of the RF? Is it clear?
This system relies on the RF being honest, honourable and above board. Are you content to just trust their word on that?
