It’s also worth noting that Harry wasn’t asking for something outrageous — just the ability to pay for appropriate security when he’s in the UK. That seems like a reasonable request, especially when safety is at stake.

As has been pointed out upthread, Harry did not in fact offer to pay, and this was just media spin on his behalf to mislead the public and cast the current law suit in a better light.

It’s worth noting that The Mail on Sunday reported it wasn’t true that Harry had offered to pay, and Harry promptly sued them for defamation. Mr Justice Nicklin who considered the defamation claim had this to say:

I consider that {the Mail on Sunday] has a real prospect of succeeding in demonstrating also that an honest person could have held the opinion that [Harry] was responsible for attempting to mislead and confuse the public as to the true position (and that this was ironic given that he now held a public role in tackling “misinformation”)…

My immediate impression was that the Mail was alleging that Harry was guilty of “spinning” facts to his advantage… Having now seen the sequence of events, in my judgment, the Mail does have a real prospect of demonstrating that an honest person could have held the view that this was precisely what was being done on Harry’s behalf.

Harry promptly withdrew his defamation case after this ruling, by the way.

Funny that...!!

I'm tired of people twisting and misrepresenting things that simply are not true!

Do you remember The Lion King premier where Harry was strongly pitching to the director to try and employ Meghan in his next project?

Catching up but she did go on to score a Disney voiceover gig as an elephant.

The fee was trumpeted 😉as going to an elephant charity. Would be interesting to know if it ever got there.

RanyaJerodung · 08/04/2025 20:02

Oh my god, yes "she does voiceovers".
How embarrassing.

They probably forgot!! 😂They may still have it in a trunk somewhere! 😁

Never saw any evidence of any elephant charity benefitting, in all seriousness.

I guess it's just the elephant in the room after all this time...

I am essentially no fan of the Sussex couple, but I think this rumour might be slightly unfair to Harry's female accomplice.

"Absolutely No Evidence To Support Outlandish Claims
"On the contrary, the foundation has been very vocal about the support they received from Disneynature and the Disney Conservation Fund. The charity dedicated a Facebook post to both Disney and the Sussexes, thanking them for the support. The foundation specifically mentioned Markle, writing, “Thank you Meghan, because of you, this film brings knowledge and information to a global audience which in turn brings them closer to elephants. The impact will be global, reaching schools, more homes and more countries.”
"According to Elephants Without Borders’ website, the Walt Disney Company is listed as a top 2019 donor and its placement at the top of the list of other donors would indicate that it was a sizable contributor to the charity."

No evidence of Rachel handing over one of those outsize presentation cheques though and it's hard to believe she'd have missed the opportunity given the emphasis on service, charity and general saintly light-shining being trailed at the time.

I'd be interested in seeing any definitive links settling the matter.

The main host was the heinous, convicted paedophile Stuart Hall, who served prison time for abusing multiple young children — that alone would give me the creeps. The royals really do seem to attract more than their fair share of questionable characters. It’s unsettling how often these kinds of associations come up around them. Oh and Edward's tantrum I seem to remember.

Edited

I’m not sure we can blame the Royals for not having a crystal ball and known Hall was a pedophile Confused also I don’t think they looked him up in the Nonce Yellow Pages - we WAS the IAK host for yonks

What are the other associations? The Royals meet lots of people.

APATEKPHILLIPEWATCH · 08/04/2025 20:52

mainecooncatonahottinroof · 08/04/2025 17:50

Oh change the record will you?! Stuart Hall was the regular presenter of It's a Knockout. He presented it for 10 years. WTF would he not present the royal one? Were the royals supposed to have a crystal ball to see into the future that he would go on to later be convicted of CSA?

What a silly comment.

Honestly these Sussex squad/M&H sycophant types, I feel sorry for them. Because they MUST think of they talk enough shit about the RF and suck up to M&H enough, Meghan will be their friend. I wonder what it’s like when they realise neither Meghan nor Harry would piss on them if they were on fire. Unless they’re an A-Lister or a wealthy Montecito luvvie

Maybe she sent them a nice basket of jam instead.

Every state in the US has different guns laws. Harry could move to a state that allows concealed carry, and then just pack a gun. He, Meghan, and the kids can practice target shooting as a family.

NorthernGnashers · 10/04/2025 23:52

Just wanted to add, the sheer volume of court cases that PH has started, of course he can afford the best legal teams, but he looks so exhausted with it all, it's like a full time job for him ! Looks so miserable too . . .

I think it’s very sad. He’s locked into a bitter battle for attention and validation . The more he brings court cases and plays the Poor Me card the more his family will avoid him. He wants them and misses them but deliberately alienates them at every turn. I do wonder where all this will end because it’s incredibly sad to see . I used to think he was a fun cheeky chappie but he’s become a monster of egocentric self regard and victim hood. He looks angry and haunted and I suspect has no meaningful purpose in life . I also wonder if he has a serious drug addiction as someone mentioned up thread.

It's really regrettable that when I saw that he had visited Ukraine a couple of days ago my first thought was not "Good for him!" as it should have been; it was "he really is desperate to take attention away from his charities, isn't he."

I believe he does great work for Invictus and long may it continue.

But my first thought was that he'd made his barrister look like an idiot with all her talk about him risking his life to sit in court. No one who genuinely believed a court in the UK was life threatening would go to a war zone.

NorthernGnashers · 11/04/2025 20:31

@Conundrumseverywhere

Absolutely spot on, the RF do not like litigation, do they? And PH, well it's as if the continous court appearances have taken over his life. If the last court case ended in his favour, i bet he would still look so miserable.

Wow, that's quite the slapdown from His Honour, there!

I was in NY with work last week, and on Broadway on Thursday as it happens. I saw neither hide nor hair of the Duchess, Entrepreneur and Humanitarian Extraordinaire. Nor her motorcade. Sad! I can however confirm that traffic in Midtown does still move incredibly slowly. The only risk of a 'car chase' that could be reasonably defined as 'near catastrophic' would be the risk of all the passengers expiring of boredom as they crawl up Madison at the pace of an arthritic snail.

gailforce1 · 14/04/2025 11:21

Daily Mail article today "How Harry's HIV charity that promises 'never to forget' has left behind the very Lesotho orphans it was set up to save".
Could someone with better IT skills than me share please.

Mylovelygreendress · 14/04/2025 12:18

I saw the headline and note that it is written by Sue Reid who is a highly respected investigative journalist ( first to report on grooming gangs) so I would really like to read that article if anyone can share?

Dr. Sophie came into the situation a year ago and has to deal with issues that have been going on since at least 2018. There is no way she can fix it in a year.

Mylovelygreendress · 14/04/2025 12:57

Thanks for sharing . That was an uncomfortable read .

Dinglydelll · 14/04/2025 13:15

Anyone have a clue about the timescales and remit of the CC investigation?

Weepixie · 14/04/2025 13:33

And just when Harry must have through the furore of the last few weeks was dying down 🙈
