Quite. Some people really have no idea how Home Office security operates in the UK. As if the King organises it himself!

I genuinely think some people in the UK think the King rules over the country. It makes me wonder which school they went to

I wonder if some went to school at all.

Now imagine if I start spreading scurrillous rumours about current serving members of the Royal Family - what is sauce for the goose and all that.

Do please crack on. It would be a pleasant change from the H the Hero narrative. I'll even start you off, Prince Andrew voted for Reform...pass it on!

Now you know that's not what he said...!

I do, but it's a metaphor for not understanding that the world cannot be made completely safe for anyone.

mainecooncatonahottinroof · 08/04/2025 15:10

That is absolute bullshit. Maybe you should give over talking about things you know nothing about.

Diana was unfaithful before Charles was, with multiple men, several of them married. Charles was then unfaithful with Camilla.

We know this how ?

smilesy · 08/04/2025 14:59

Also, didn’t the late Queen write asking that Harry have some form of security and she was told no. And she accepted this decision because she realised that, perhaps, you know actual security experts know best 🤷‍♀️

She wrote to her private secretary saying her position was that she would prefer they keep “effective security” but accepted it was RAVEC’s decision and would respect that decision.

A thread is like a conversation. They can meander somewhat and then get back on track.

I understand how threads work.
What I don't understand is how anyone can justify commenting on a woman's body shape and size or choice of clothing. They didn't 'meander' there. They chose to go there . And that depresses me.

Look it up for yourself. I'm not doing your research for you.

I tell you what, if my husband had used up all the gas and air during my first labour like Harry did, there certainly would have been no baby number 2.

Men who do that just see women’s “things” as something for them to play with even when in extreme pain.

Firealarm1414 · 08/04/2025 15:15

vera99 · 08/04/2025 15:05

That's true, Anne did face a very real threat with the attempted kidnapping. However, Harry’s situation still stands apart due to the ongoing and specific threats he’s received in recent years, particularly involving media harassment and the public's intense scrutiny of his personal life.

By "media harrassment" do you mean reporting on what they are doing and their various pretend royal tours and business endeavors which they are continually seeking publicity for? How is that a threat and how does that in any way warrant increased security? Tabloids also exist in the US and they aren't accused of harassing them.

How can they claim that the UK is so unsafe that it warrants the maximum security allowed, but then travel to countries that the US and UK governments have travel advisories in place for due to them being unsafe? Its completely ridiculous.

I thought you wanted to keep the thread on track, now you're taking it back again when that conversation has already moved on?

Well you’ve claimed on this thread that KCIII took Harry’s security away. That’s not true now is it?

Diana was unfaithful many many times. To the point rumours swirl even now about the paternity of one of her son’s. Can hardly blame Charles can we

If only James Hewitt had a headache that night 🙊
Just joking, Harry is so obviously Charles’s son, it was a joke I just couldn’t resist making!

Ah fuck, I didn't put the just a joke disclaimer on my post. No doubt the SAS will sniper me down later when I put the bins out on Charles orders, after all we know he controls everything.

I'm digging into the mists of time in the hope of recalling the additional protection Charles demanded as Prince of Wales when the world learnt of his desire to be a Tampax. Didn't he demand that all channels should be blocked and every lavatory in London plugged?

He never said he wanted to be a tampax

vera99 · 08/04/2025 15:13

Because we aren’t simpletons. Af she admitted it. And the men have admitted it. Maybe have a look into how Julia Carling feels about Diana.

True! He is in charge of the Metropolitan Police, the Home Office, the Foreign Office and Duchy Originals.

This will not happen because there isn’t enough security for poor Harry so Charles can’t spare any snipers 🤪

I get that Anne, Edward, and Andrew don’t have 24/7 security, but their situations are different. They don’t face the same level of public scrutiny or security threats that Harry does. Harry’s been in the media spotlight for years and, more recently, has had a lot of controversy and public attention around his personal life. Given the nature of the threats he’s received, it’s not surprising he feels the need for extra protection when he’s in the UK. It’s about keeping him and his family safe, not about comparing to other royals who might not face the same risks.

But Princess Anne was threatened and a man attempted to kidnap her. In total 4 people were shot in the incident and some seriously injured - her protection officer, her driver, a police officer and a passing journalist who tried to intervene. Anne is of tougher stuff than Harry and when ordered out of the car at gunpoint - she told the kidnapper "not bloody likely"

Even top security won't always make life risk free - the Queen was shot at (Trooping the colour) and Prince Charles by a gunman who tried to storm the stage in Australia.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 08/04/2025 15:32

Is there a chance that whoever decided faux royal tours to Columbia and Nigeria were a good idea might actually scupper whatever case Harry has, showing that there is ample security for him even in places considered to be very high risk. Who would be behind that, I wonder? Not someone who has leaked to the press that they wish he would drop his court cases and live more in the present, surely?

Firstly, he has a brass neck and can certainly dish it out – he’s not some hapless pensioner being trolled for fun. Secondly, the video just politely asked him questions about what he was doing at Invictus, given his views on Harry and Meghan – views for which he has been rightly criticized for stirring the pot and views for which he has been royally finacially rewarded.

No thank you
