I've wondered before whether it was C&W who pulled back from the "fab four" when the other two were keen to continue doing things as a four. That would explain the resentment towards them from H&M.

Piecing together all the things I've read, I think William saw that Meghan posed a real threat to him and his family (the constant hugging of him, which could have compromised him so he made sure not to be alone in a room with her; creeping into Charlotte's bedroom to take photos of her whilst she slept; dominating their only public appearance as a foursome and straying into politics with #metoo and #timesup) so made clear to Harry that there had to be a working and domestic split. H&M then saved face by making out they had decided to set it home in Windsor and go it alone professionally).

She crept into Charlottes room to take photos of her whilst she slept!! I'd not heard that before. That's batshit, I'd want well away from her as well

Ohpleeeease · 26/02/2025 19:40

I think William hoofed them out of the Foundation didn’t he? We saw some of the tension in that Fab Four interview. The more I see of the “younger” royals, the more I think the late Queen had the right idea in not giving interviews and only being heard to speak on rare, formal occasions.

Apparently Maria ( Nanny) caught her .

Do you have source for that?

Mylovelygreendress · 26/02/2025 20:12

There are several articles online . Of course it may not be true but it wasn’t denied .

Who knows if it's true? I was not inclined to believe it until I watched the Netflix documentary, which includes footage of them inside Buckingham Palace waiting to be collected by a car and driver. I've never seen such footage before (the only footage inside Buck Hice is of events or the monarch greeting people). The fact that they had asked a third party to take it, trampling on any sense if privacy (!) for people living and working there, told me M would think it was OK to go into Charlotte 's bedroom, just as she searched the boot of William's estate car at a polo match.

CesarSoubreyon · 26/02/2025 20:56

I had read (can't remember where now) that she was caught in one of the children's rooms taking photos, not of a child as it was empty, but the surroundings. It was quite early on in the relationship and led to them not trusting her.

I have no source though!

MaturingCheeseball · 26/02/2025 21:51

Apparently it was click, click, click all round the royal residences. Remember, she was talking with Oprah and her people then and had her own PR and business advisor on retainer.

I’m skimming all the RF threads at the moment, so I’ve missed it. I’m skimming and scrolling quickly past a lot of posts - because there are so many posters going all out to do their best to dehumanize and denigrate Meghan. Accusing her of all sorts of behaviour and thoughts, because ‘they have read somewhere’ or if H&M haven’t denied something it must be true, or that ‘she’s just like my nasty SIL/mother/aunt/favourite villain’. Rumours that have been debunked are being repeated like they are new. There’s a lot of story telling and a lot of projection on these threads. Basically, woman are bonding over the tearing down of another woman.

FromThePrismOfJammyTodger · 26/02/2025 21:59

Why don't you debunk the rumours, then, using some facts, instead of attacking the posters? Or better still, stop forcing yourself to skim read through something that distresses you. Unless it's your job to read these threads, why put yourself through it?

HeddaGarbled · 26/02/2025 22:08

It’s all they’ve got left. Everything else, turned out we were right.

The problem is that we don’t have to solely rely on “ sources” when Meghan and Harry have themselves been very vocal about their feelings . Unfortunately for them , a lot of what they have said has been been proven wrong .
And thanks to numerous videos and photographs we can see their behaviour. .

What about the consistent and persistent reports of Meghan's bullying behaviour over many years on both sides of the pond?

How do you personally reconcile the testimonies of dozens of victims and witnesses who have experienced and been impacted by her behaviour to the point that some have been hounded out of their jobs and ended up needing professional help to alleviate the mental distress she caused as investigated by numerous and separate respected publications?

Are you saying that all women should support other women and not use their voice purely because they are a woman? Like all black women should support black women because of a shared skin colour?

Basically, woman are bonding over the tearing down of another woman.

Or the exposure of a liar and a bully who has used her position to tear down others.

If you look at the footage of Catherine and Megham as they emerge onstage for that Fab Four event, C is fending off The Claw as she appears from behind the curtain.

I haven’t seen that . Will google.

MrsLeonFarrell · 27/02/2025 14:16

Finally watched a bit on YouTube. I thought he responded with grace and tact to the trickier questions.

The clip i watched ended with them asking if Catherine liked William's beard. The reply was basically
If she didn't like it he wouldn't still have it, love that, as a wife who bans beards!

MissRoseDurward · 27/02/2025 16:16

the more I think the late Queen had the right idea in not giving interviews and only being heard to speak on rare, formal occasions.

Yes, I think that was the right decision. But I wonder if at any point she recorded a series of extended interviews about her life and times, to be made available to future historians and biographers. That would be hugely valuable and interesting.

MissFenellaPrism · 27/02/2025 16:26

Yes, I think a conversation about her life would have been interesting. There's nothing wrong with giving interviews, but Harry and Meghan just made them a moan fest, filled with bile, self aggrandisement, and harmful and untrue accusations.
That's the difference, really.

I think the Queen probably kept her thoughts to a very select few. She did faithfully keep a diary though, so one day that might be made available (probably not in my lifetime!).

I somehow doubt that William will keep a daily diary. I’m sure Charles does.

Saying M crept in to Charlotte's bedroom and took photos of her asleep when there doesn't appear to be a single reliable source is too much. I'm shocked.

I take the rap for introducing it into this thread. It may or may not be true, like so many things in this saga. That's why I said 'apparently'.

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 27/02/2025 18:21

There's a big difference between rumours published by news outlets who need to adhere to certain standards, speculation based on those rumours, and basically repeating any old unevidenced stuff from SM.
