So I thought the little pup died last week or something. But he died in October!!! (if Angela Levin is right of course - but she usually is!)

So Me-gains little video in memory of guy was just to promote the netflix programme.

I had not heard of Angela Levin before, but she comes across as very weird. Who on earth gets obsessed to this degree about the minutiae of someone else's life? So thank you for that glimpse into the abyss, but I will know to avoid her in future.

🤣🤣! Yeah she's tricky to listen to too much of! But I was genuinely shocked that guy died in October! I was feeling a bit sorry for Meghan when I saw her little guy tribute as no matter what I think of her, it is sad when a pet dies. (Of course there is still a lot of 'poor me, love me, adore me, feel sorry for me' in and about the whole tribute video. But I could look past that and recognise it's tough when a loved pet dies.

But now i feel tricked as she clearly did the tribute for publicity for her new netflix show. Surely doing it in October or November would have been more appropriate. Usually when people post tributes they have the dates of life on 'eg. RIP Guy 20XX TO Oct 2024 x'. Makes sense why this was not the case here. She was storing up his death to use at a convenient time to garner more sympathy love and views...

She wasn’t on Instagram tjen was she?

I suppose being a celebrity is a bit like being a writer-everything is, ultimately, potential material.

CatsWhiskerz · 20/01/2025 12:47

It's just typical of her, I'll bet she was just awaiting the right time to let everyone know - but yet again it's back fired ... 🙄 she's very desperate to be something she's not

It's horrible isn't it.

I just can't imagine living like this, so your whole life, all your decisions, every event, all the births and deaths and losses you experience your family's life and their decisions, everything is for sale. Everything is material.

I can't understand how people live like this. Or why?

What is this pursuit of money at all costs about? What does it buy people? I can't imagine it buys happiness.

I can see why she didn't announce it until the trailer came out bendy she didn't have social media then and it quoted be word to do a press release out of the blue. But he's featured in the show and it makes sense to forestall questions by explaining he has died.

Equally it would be fine if they'd announced at the time or never announced. How public people deal with pet deaths is really a matter for them alone.

Well everything isn't for sale. They are keeping their children out of the limelight.

And why do you need to understand how and why someone who is a stranger to you lives their life? Do you judge your friends, family etc for the wya their love their life if it isn't what you would do or think is how a life should be lived?

Well that’s not true as the DC were shown in the Netflix series . Clearly the money was right …..

Edited

They r not keeping their children out of the limelight though are they? In fact they are encouraging intrigue by teasing with them all the time. Letting us hear their voices, see the back of their heads. It's all pretty weird. They could easily just keep them away from the cameras completely but they want to keep them relevant. I'd b very happy if all four of them fucked off to the south of France and we never heard from the again. But they keeping popping up. All the time. B cause they WANT to be in the public eye in order to make money and stay relevant.

I don't form negative judgements about my friends and family because they are lovely private people who would never sell the family secrets for a quick buck. I judge people who put themselves into the public eye by writing books and putting themselves on netflix by.making reality shows. That's what being in the public eye is about - it's about showing yourself to the public for them to form judgements about you.

If my friends and family went on netflix in a reality show I would form judgements about that! and we'd probably have a laugh about it 🤣🤣 If they did that while selling out their family, or sending patronising hypocrite messages ('look after then environment peasants, we are off to fly on our private jet') then my judgement of them may be negative. As it happens, the only judgements I have formed about my friends and family are positive ones because they r lovely positive people ....

Here we go again. Why do you care? A person you don't know....

MySpringAir · 20/01/2025 16:40

Find something else to think about. It doesn't matter how or when some random person you don't know announced the death of a dog.

EdithWeston · 20/01/2025 16:44

Time of the dog's death is not known.

Rumour is just rumour.

I think it's likely it was a little while before she announced it (it takes a while to ut together a video tribute, and you might not feel up to that straight away).

He featured on her Christmas card - I now there's a lead time for getting those printed, but the timelines are much faster now than they used to be. Ditto time to dispatch, given that they were official cards, so they could use staff from their Office to crack through them

I can't believe anyone would choose a pic including their dog for their Christmas card if that dog was already dead.

So much of human interaction is however made up of talking about people "you don't know".

They did choose to talk about the death of the dog. It's an OK subject to comment on, including how they handled it (I've never seen that sort of attempted "shut down" comment after a post that praises them, which makes me suspect double standards or deflection)

And people can think about both sleb twaddle and weighty matters. They are not mutually exclusive, though of course they wouldn't be side-by-side in the same thread.

💯 % this.
The level of vitriol this couple get (particularly Meghan) is unbelievable
Just like the Daily Mail slating them every day, or Piers Morgan with his weird stalker ish obsession.
Yes. Grow up. Pathetic indeed.

Really? Not for me. The majority of my interactions when talking are about music, events, what we are doing, planning holidays, movies, what to binge on netflix, how they are. Not about people we don't know and never about the royal family. 🤷

Maybe your interactions are mostly about talking about people you don't know but that doesn't mean it's almost everyone else's.

Funny how you didn’t mention Vanity Fair…..Shhhh!…. don't talk about the bullying.

Lol you are not allowed to disagree or make any other comment that isn't criticising them. It's like a culture. If you dare to you will get called a hero worshipper or Sussex squad member. Then they come at about he bullying allegations and demand you condemn bullying cos if you don't do what they tell you to do then silence means complicity.

Haha it's so funny to see people grf so twisted up criticising every tony thing

EdithWeston · 20/01/2025 17:09

I'm really quite surprised that you say you don't think about the Royal Family, given the number of threads in this topic that you're on.

But as it happens, I didn't mean to closely reference the RF. It was meant to be a wider comment, so when talking about music, perhaps you'd talk about the musicians too. Or perhaps you do read topics other than this one on MN, and read threads about other people's MILs, or DSC or PITA on the PTA - all of which are about people who the readership do not know in RL. MN would grind to a halt.

As would political commentary that looked at the motivation and performance of leaders and representatives.

And what would be the point of literature if it was not looking at universal truths of the human condition by inviting us in to a one-sided account of people who not only do we not know but who are also not real?

People's actions and what they choose to put in to the public domain are open topics for discussion. The death of poor old Guy is one such topic, and the absence of a date of death has (of course) been noticed.

And as I said in my first post on this thread, there's no reason whatsoever to think that any one particular commentator knows when it was

So even though I think the OP is repeating unsubstantiated rumour, I'm not seeking to divert from the aspect of the public topic she's posted about on the grounds that "you don't know these people". Because tat's so hollow.

I didn't say it don't i said the majority of my time isn't. If I total up how much I spend on here it's 1% of all the hours in a yr i spend on this board.

And talking about someone is don't know like a politician well actually not personally no but I know them for the policies they set and yes i will talk about kier in the context of the policies he introduced as in how awful what he is doing is. That is different to talking about his hair, clothes he wears, when his pet died or didn't die it's never personal minute irrelevant stuff.

As for musicians it's only in reference to their stay wo music are they now loving into a different genre, how great that set was or not. Again it's not omg he got married and his suit was full of creases how bad is that he couldn't even iron his suit. Like that is such trivial crap to even be talking about. I don't care about that kind of thing.

JustMyView13 · 20/01/2025 17:17

I think you’re over thinking it.
Guy is going to appear in the documentary, and so she’s paid tribute to him ahead of that as he’s no longer in their lives and it’s a point that might attract attention.

Her dog is still dead. You’re allowed to still feel empathy for the pain she experienced. October isn’t even that long ago.
