Guy died in October

SoTiredDogsKeptMeAwakeAllNight · 20/01/2025 11:14

So I thought the little pup died last week or something. But he died in October!!! (if Angela Levin is right of course - but she usually is!)

So Me-gains little video in memory of guy was just to promote the netflix programme.

That was a bit of a weak response form Sam Kushner considering how he portrayed Meghan Markle to Tom Bowers, not very complimentary to say the least. He did not refute anything Tom Bowers repeated, other than the stammer being misrepresented as a stutter.

This was Tom Bowers response

"During a telephone conversation with Sam Kushner on May 31st, I read out to him all the quotations I had used of his interview with me for my book, and also conveyed to him much of the chapter. He did not make a single objection or correction"

No one sued Tom Bowers for anything he put in that book.

Even an imbecile can work out the curated memorial video ( complete with sickly song ) for the dog was to promote her show
He even featured in the trailer a few days before when the poor thing was already dead - she probably thought it was a genius idea

Merching your dead pet is distasteful much like touring other peoples burnt out homes

this thread really does show how desperate people are to find something to bash Meghan about.
her dog died. how she deals with that is up to her.

🤣🤣

When you release a video for the world to see on social media, you do that so people will watch it and form judgements.

I dont care how Meghan mourns the death of her dog in private. But when she releases a video to the world, it becomes public information which the public will watch and comment on.

If the public were all saying 'awww.. look at lovely Meghan. How sad about her dog. Look at her lovely children and glorious jam', then I'm sure she and her supporters would be v pleased about that. However when opinion is not in her favour, suddenly we shouldn't be passing judgement or commenting or caring.

It isn't "bashing" to point out that releasing a mawkish tribute to a dead pet in order to publicise one's Netflix tribute is an odd and manipulative thing to do.

I have beloved pets and if one of them died u would be devastated. I wouldn't compile a sad video to release on my instagram page at an opportune moment in my professional life.

Sorry for typos! But you get the gist

"
She doesn’t owe anyone 24/7 rolling news coverage of her pet’s death."

The point is no one is interested in her dog's death. We don't need to hear about it at all especially a long time after it happened.

And her way is to release a tribute to the dog months after it died? What next? Hire a plane to fly over the beaches with a banner about it? No one cares but it will be commented on when tied to a dodgy , delayed and controversial TV show of her's. Put it out there and you invite comment. Keep it quiet and nada !

Another Meghan bashing thread. Yawn...

So why don't you start one to applaud something she's done lately, then?

Ohpleeeease · 21/01/2025 10:56

So many people here to tick off other posters for posting. Perhaps it’s a tactic to fill up the thread? I hope they’re well compensated for their trouble.

I wouldn’t pay too much attention to Angela Levin, she spouts rumour with authority but we’re none the wiser about when the dog actually died, so all the speculation about Meghan’s reasons for posting the video might be misplaced.

I found the video a bit schmaltzy but then I wouldn’t post publicly about the death of a pet. However, plenty of people do.

I'd love it if they disappeared quietly and did.some really really good.charitable work away from the public eye.

But this is exactly what she was doing before she met & married PH. In his own words, it’s part of the reason he was drawn to her. And I’m confused how you can be so certain that they don’t do any charity work under the radar. Because if / when they do, by virtue of the fact of it not being in the public eye, you’d never know.

However, the saying ‘haters gonna hate’ has never been more true. Meghan could find the cure for cancer and end world hunger, and people would still say all the same things they do today.

VF - the 'Wild About Harry' article, not the Jan 2025 one - couldn't find evidence that this was what she was doing at that time.

Thedom · 21/01/2025 11:25

The criticism of the dog tribute is her purposely leaving out the timing of the dogs death, for what purpose would you not say 'we lost our beloved dog in September or whenever', only because she wanted people to believe it had just happened. Then using the tribute to finally 'launch' videos of her kids, showcasing her making jam, all just in time for her new show. .

It could have been a very genuine lovely tribute, but like everything she does, its all far too performative and inauthentic and most people see it for what it was, less of a tribute to her dog, but more of a PR exercise for herself and her upcoming show.

andyouwillknowusbythetrailofdead · 21/01/2025 11:38

For someone obsessed with authenticity, she's deeply inauthentic.

We don’t need proof!
It is ok to trust PH when he says, here are the things my wife done prior to when we met, and this is why our values align.

I am not required to evidence every charitable thing I’ve done in my life. In fact, most of it nobody could evidence. It doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened.

It is a weird obsession people have.
Honestly, I’d love to see proof PA was at Pizza Express that night, but we don’t seem so bothered about holding him to account for his alleged wrongdoings.

haha, thats because most people don't believe for a second he was at Pizza Express, no proof needed.

Is that what you will say to your friend, family member or work colleagues if they tell you their pet died...Sorry noone cares and I don't need to hear about it

I think what has caused the cynicism is that most people say WHEN their beloved pet died if they make an announcement For instance Jeremy Corbyn announced today that his cat died on Sunday .

But Meghan is not our friends or family. Why tell us about it?

I would expect my friends and family to seek support from me when a pet dies. I would offer sympathy and see if there anything useful I could do to help.

Meghan should also talk to her friends and family (if she has any) and they can offer support. Maybe she could send a little tribute video on a her private Facebook page to her private circle who knows guy and they might very much appreciate it.

A tribute video months after the death released to the world, and including her kids voices and jam making etc.. to coincide with her new netflix show seems strange and the purpose of it is unclear? I mean, why? What reaction did she want or expect? Sympathy? Why does she need or want that from people she doesn't know?

Well if we were all the same it would be a boring world. Why do people have to say things the same way? Who is anyone to say well you should of said it this way. Is your way the right way? Why?

Honestly I find this so completely ridiculous to be nitpicking over the fact they didn't include when. It's their announcement to make they can choose what to say.

Because people don't like inauthenticity by those who preach to be authentic. People don't like manipulation and narcissism in those that preach love and kindness. Whatever and whenever Meghan chooses to do things, and how she chooses to do them often irritate people because of their inauthenticity and self serving nature. And while it's up to her to behave like that. It is grating and it's ok for people to rant about it on Mumsnet!! If you don't want people to rant about your behaviour - don't do it publicly.

VF would disagree. And I wouldn't trust anything H told me - his own recollections vary from one telling to the next.

Pizza Express? 🐿
