I saw Zara had a burgandy wool coat at the start of the season and I regret not getting it because it reminded me of a (cheap!) version of Kate’s!

I agree the pearls are lovely! They belonged to the late Queen. I love her coat and the burgundy is very on trend, but as I have said elsewhere, the sixth form at the school that my Dc’s attended has a uniform of burgundy and grey business dress so I’m somewhat burgundied out 😂

The hat is making me think of a Qatar Airlines flight attendant. Absolutely lovely to see Catherine on royal duties, though, and looking terrific as she always does. Red tones really suit her. Hopefully she's well on the way to a full recovery. This time last year she was in the middle of the Dutch translation shit storm, about to have major surgery and presumably had no idea what was in store for her. What a year she's had!

I have burgundy curtains in my living room (chosen 5 years ago and now getting a bit faded). Love the colour!

DD's school uniform was royal blue, which is rather less of a favourite...

As they were attending a formal ceremony, not a social event, they had a number of different stances and facial expressions at different times. Plenty of photos looking happy, though.

Love the coat. Don't like the hat and I don't think the jewellery is a bit much for daywear. A little amused she is getting so much kudos for being able to curtsey!

Would love to know what she is wearing underneath, it must be something quite fine to not interfere with the line of the coat.

But she looks lovely and happy and healthy which is great.

That colour looks fab on her. And I would wear those pearls within anything - day & night.

I agree with a pp about the hat though. I find purely decorative hats silly.

@BettyBlueSky the pearls are fine-it's the stonking great jewel that doesn't go with brown boots and William's lounge suit. IMHO.
