Light-hearted or serious suggestions - let's get all those bright ideas from us backseat drivers on the royal and ex royal communications output / and or what to do to improve their public images going forward. Or what not to do.

Pick a team or do them all:

Charles and Camilla

The Wales Fam

Harry and Meghan

The best of the rest - Edinburghs, Anne's clan

For the brave among you - The Yorks

Republicans, play along with your worst suggestions that you hope they will do to bring down the monarchy.

So William guiding George and Kate guiding Charlotte and Louis. Training for George much earlier, following a path similar to Princess Leonor.

I think this is a really interesting point about how to manage the on the job training for the next generation.

I think Kinging or Queening is really a job for adults. Like, over 25 at least. A lot of the optics of the work is Royals Being Seen To Be Supportive Out and About, in different settings like at charities and hospitals. I don’t want support for my adult problems from someone who is not an adult.
Younger royals can be good with kids (doing some activities or playing football with them etc) but that kind of visiting work tends not to happen that much in the UK so they can avoid unscripted moments I guess. I don’t know.

I think the child Royals and the adult royals roles make sense to me, there is an awkward age where they’re teenagers and young adults living a very clean living privileged life and not appearing (to us plebs anyway) to have much life experience.
When actually they already have a shit ton of life experience but it’s just celeb world stuff that doesn’t translate- like dealing with security and blackmail concerns and PR spin and learning how to deal with a crowd and have friends if you’re really famous and other things that we civilians never even have to consider.
Maybe the young ones could be posted off to do civilian work overseas to get them out of the public eye for a bit or to learn a trade in private like William and the rescue helicopters and Harry in the military. I guess like everyone the RF’s life course of work will look very different in the different decades of their lives.

I feel rather uneasy about the whole notion of habituating children into assuming a particular role. I suppose there are worse gigs. But just because you are born into a particular family doesn't mean you are going to relish that sort of exposure and lifestyle. Some will. Some won't. It reminds me of being plucked out of an ordinary life and taken away to be trained up as the next Dalai Lama.

IIRC the late Queen used to have tea with William regularly when he was a teenager, discussing matters of State and generally preparing him for being King. I would expect Charles and William are already preparing George, I suspect that was why he was given the role he had at the Coronation.

I can't imagine how you go about helping children come to terms with the life they are born into but I do think that William and Catherine have thought this through and have a plan. They obviously approached marriage and Catherine's entry into the family with care and consideration and I would guess they had the same approach to parenthood.

What they should have done was issue a statement saying what a shock it had been and how everyone was struggling to come to terms with it. Please understand we will be staying in Balmoral to give the family some private time, blah blah. It was handled really badly. There is no way the boys should have been seen out in public or have walked behind the coffin. They should have been shielded at the funeral. It was beyond inhumane .

Edited

You're absolutely right. It was not dealt with correctly at all
