The royal family

Mind you if William (and many other celebrities I've read about but they are beside the point) can move around New York without being bothered I don't see what makes Harry think he is so super special he needs tonnes more security than the actual heir.

He doesn’t. It’s just “look at meeee”(or usssss) 😆

I used to have a bit of sympathy with Harry's security paranoia (because Diana and because I can believe some threats were made to him and M because of racism) even if it all seemed rather over the top. This is just performative now. The scenes in Colombia were not edifying and I don't doubt NY will be a circus if he gets his way. It isn't making him look important, just self important.

But remember you have to look at him in the right way, no criticism only adulation.

True. Neither Meghan nor Harry have any intention of keeping a low profile.
NY must be full of famous people.

Her husband passed the New York bar exam and is now a practicing attorney.

It's funny that they are in the Mail as I never see them in the NY Post or NY Daily News.

What happened about the car chase?

BemusedAmerican · 29/08/2024 17:14

We NYers believe the cab driver about the alleged car chase.

That's what you do when you're serious about giving up a royal status. I wish them happiness in spades.

During Harry's trip, he will 'participate in engagements with African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst,' a spokesperson for Prince Harry said.

Let's see, he's going to fly in on a private jet to visit Travalyst, ignore the human rights abuses committed by African Parks whilst claiming to be a human rights advocate for HALO, no doubt picking up a few expenses from all of those, and shit on his mother's wishes and legacy by attempting to poke at his brother yet again. He may be a Prince, but he's a common or garden wanker.

Couldn’t put it better myself.

EdithWeston · 30/08/2024 11:25

The version of this I read said that one of the engagements was to address the UN about something-or-other and the dates of the big UN meetings are fixed ages in advance. So that probably explains the timing. But I agree it looks bad now, because of the history of doing/releasing stuff at times when other royals have significant events. Though good on them, they did time Colombia to be during the Balmoral break when they could be reasonably sure of nothing else happening. (But it was a shame that the Princess of Wales was papped, when they're usually left alone, and bad that so much of the British press were prepared to publish pictures obtained that way).

I'm glad Travelyst will feature, as that has seemed to date like a venture that failed to launch.

I hope that African Parks is properly discussed (I doubt it, but keep the hope that he will actually do something about the scandal, not just weasel something about it being looked in to by unspecified people with unspecified timeline).

I didn't realise he was still active with HALO.

And if he wants to boost the Diana Awards, perhaps he could begin closer to home? ARO did not need to be launched at that time. More important, surely, to boost the profile of the winners at the time the awards are made
