Welcome to Part 7 of our positive threads, where we explore all things Meghan and Harry. From the causes they champion and their business ventures to Meghan’s (and occasionally Harry’s 😉) fashion moments, there’s a lot to chat about. This is a drama-free space, so let’s keep it upbeat! High five to @queentim for the original inspiration.

@CoffeeCantata they are seriously brainwashed by the sounds of it.

Oh God...and on Celebitchy, they are dismissing the previous, uncontested allegations of Meghan's bullying at KP by saying 'all those so-called victims were Kate and Wiliam's staff, and therefore racists'.

We know that Harry admitted the effect Meghan had on these unfortunate professionals in Spare - so the SS can't claim they're false. Therefore, Meghan's victims MUST be racists - obvs.

You could not make it up!

They must have missed the headline news when the household separated.

All staff belonged to the joint households of Princes Harry and William until then (though some would have worked more for one than another, but generally they shared)

So it’s a complete misunderstanding to say the staff belonged to William (and Catherine) when until the fusion of households they were all shared.

It’s not terribly flattering towards the Sussexes if most staff preferred to remain with the Cambridges. The would have known the household dynamics from the inside. Though of course some did stay with the Sussexes (though some of those only to see through the transition)

It was less than a year from the separation of households until they stepped back.

@Mylovelygreendress

it seems you are right about the response as it was an older one. My mistake.

Of course many ex-staff would be positive if approached, it wouldn't do their careers any good to say anything negative about a previous employer. And the more senior the staff the less likely they were bullied.

“Did you breach your NDA and speak about me to The Hollywood Reporter? Are you absolutely sure? Because unless you provide me with this on the record quote I’ve drafted for you I’m going to assume it was you and sue you” said Meghan, possibly….

I’m guessing that was more or less the upshot.

Another vote for this theory!

I also was amused to find this

Meghan’s Staff

Their PR machine has gone into overdrive, however, it seems only US weekly are running the puff pieces to counter the THR article.
Interestingly, the guy behind this article and who edited it, is the same guy behind the article when her friends spoke to People magazine about how wonderful Meghan is and how worried they all were about her. The article Meghan claimed not to have anything to do with but clearly orchestrated.
These are paid for and planted articles. People are wise to the manipulation now.

This, absolutely this.

It also seems that the Sussex Squad have been hounding Maer Roshan, he calls it a “backlash from supporters” and has had to speak out but isn’t backing down and says that they stand by the story.

And THR have given a positive report of Harry’s time in NY. Paid for snd planted too?

There is a difference between positive reporting of an event and a puff piece push back on negative allegations. I don’t think anyone would suggest that every bit of press coverage is paid for and planted 🙄

MummyJ12 · 25/09/2024 08:41

Interesting question @Sunsetand. Penske Media Co. Have close affiliation with WME. It’s why THR article took everyone by surprise as WME could have easily killed it. Harry got off lightly in that article funnily enough and now they are printing positive articles about his NY trip. Read into that what you will….,

AMI own US weekly (American Media Inc) puff pieces are easy to come by with them.
WME also have close links with Dotdash and IAC who own People. Again, more positive stories about Harry at the moment. Not so much Meghan……It’s all very interesting when you think about it and look into it properly.

If you don’t think money is changing hands for this propaganda then you are very naive about what goes on in Hollywood.

MummyJ12 · 25/09/2024 08:44

I also very much agree with @smilesy that not every story is paid for and planted. Sometimes, a story is just news coverage! (Well I never!)

But when it’s clearly damage limitation and a PR exercise as that US weekly article absolutely is then it is a paid for puff piece. By a different publication and owner to THR.

Sunsetand · 25/09/2024 08:19

Not necessarily.

Not if (as has been suggested in some commentaries) that there has been brand separation going on.

The bullying story was all about Meghan.

The report of events in NY was all about Harry - and was a report of public events (which went well enough, though the content was bland to the point of underwhelming).

The bullying story was totally different as it was the result of an investigation involving 12 sources.

Looks like they are choosing which horse to back ahead of the split.

Yes this makes sense - brand separation esp as the original THR piece was noticably quite fawning to PH (v charming, no airs and graces etc) - although it did give him a rap on the knuckles about being an enabler.

A further article and revelations in the Daily Beast today. This story is not going away.

www.thedailybeast.com/former-employees-of-demon-meghan-markle-share-their-truth-on-her-psycho-moments

Serenster · 25/09/2024 17:53

Ouch. These are all new allegations from the UK. People are obviously feeling abe to speak up now.

Another person who worked with Meghan in the run-up to her wedding told The Daily Beast: “I always thought she was a classic narcissist and getting her staff to tell a magazine how amazing she is only confirms that in my mind. She is lovely when it is all going her way but a demon when the worm turns.”
Another source told The Daily Beast a story of a florist who was “screamed at down the phone” for half an hour after they posted an insignificant detail online about a bouquet they were working on for Meghan (without identifying that Meghan was the client).“They vowed never to work with her again, despite the prestige of having her as a client. If you were working for her, you were often treated like a tradesman who could be treated like s--t.”

Serenster · 25/09/2024 18:26

And talking about the former staff in the People Magazine talking about how amazing she is, it brings back very clearly the picture painted of her in The Cut article which made it clear how artificial these exercises are, and all for show.

Mandana Dayani is quoted as saying “my favourite memories were during our weekly meetings in their Montecito home, where Meghan always served the most incredible lunches, snacks and her latest beautiful concoction. Dayani also recalls how they put her at ease when she attended her first royal gala. “I walked into her room and found Meghan finishing her won makeup and steaming her jumpsuit. We all toasted her with a sip of champagne while Meghan danced to her favourite oldies playlist

Alison P Davis, who wrote the article in The Cut, perfectly skewered this perfection by numbers when she wrote:

“My first glimpse of Meghan in this new chapter is her crouched in the entryway, arms wrapped around her black Lab, Pula (Setswana for rain and good fortune and a tribute to an early date during the couple’s whirlwind romance in 2016). The front doors are thrown wide open, as are the doors leading out to the backyard. She stands and smiles with the perfect level of warmth, the gleam of her teeth rivaled only by the shininess of her blowout. Backlit by the late-morning light in a scene that looks like a Nancy Meyers cinematic interior, Town & Country, Goop, and Architectural Digest had an orgy and created the perfect moment in California living, she throws her arms wide open, too, and gives me a hug. “Come on through,” she says, beckoning me to join her on one of many terraces.”

MummyJ12 · 25/09/2024 19:00

Perfection by numbers is an excellent way of putting it.

It seems that she can’t cope when her vision of what she expects from a person/situation/whatever else, doesn’t meet her expectations. It probably happens all of the time because her “perfect” standards are impossible to meet. She probably exhausts herself in trying to achieve perfection in everything, yet it doesn’t look or come across as authentic.
I can easily see that she can be absolutely lovely and charming but will be mercurial. As soon as she is disappointed in something or someone, everyone around her will know about it and it will always be someone else’s fault. Almost like the ultimate bridezilla. This is where I have the ultimate issue with Meghan in that she is happy for people to be collateral damage, hence all of the people who have been connected with her and being ghosted or burned in some way. Alison P. Davis was forced to take an extended leave of absence from work due to The Cut article and Meghan threatening the publication following the backlash from it. I remember the tweet from her and was disgusted.
