Perhaps he thinks this is the way to get his security reconsidered? Personally I'd say the opposite.
If he still had UK security I'd expect them to do a risk assessment and say "NO".
Why should security personnel be put at risk by being required to travel to these dangerous destinations.

So true. The problem for the RF is Harry & Meghan are so much better at this stuff than anyone in the RF. Watch their tabloid lackeys go for them this week and people lap it up as per, but they can't change what we can all see - Harry and Meghan are naturals. You can understand why Charles/ William/ Camilla were so jealous but they've properly shot themselves in the foot by losing them. Good for Harry though, his life looks a LOT more enjoyable than his brother's and presumably that's now another layer to the problem.
