I think Kate is sour and spoiled and that she and William are workshy and entitled. Anne is grumpy and sour, and her 'hard work', although more than anyone else does, is a piece of piss compared to most peoples working week. They are all stupid, apart from Kate, and even then, a lot of her smarts comes from good schooling rather than native ability.

Agree with all of that. Back in the 70's/80's Anne had a well deserved reputation for being appallingly rude and unapproachable. It's only since the 90's that this idea of her being a hard grafting, good egg has evolved. I don't think Kate is any smarter than the rest of them, I haven't heard anyone ever say that. They are a particularly dense family, not helped by centuries of interbreeding and a luxury human zoo like existence.

I think it was Tory in "Riders" dragging her 11 stone bulk around.
But Jilly in her non-fiction writing always seemed to be aiming at being under 9 stone herself.
Seemed easy though - her heroines crash dieted for a week, had their hair streaked, slapped on Mantan and drenched themselves in scent (never perfume) and emerged as goddesses.

In the eighties a friend told me she was now 11 stone 3 and I was totally shocked at how fat she was. I would love to be that weight now.

What, sitting at an office desk reading reports, minutes of meetings, research papers, organising trips, answering emails

Don’t be silly

Edited

A live stream of Charles or William working in an office would be a bit dull, but you can bet your life some people would actually watch it. Maybe the idea could be monetised to benefit one of the charities they care oh so much about.

I agree with all you say. I was referring to the regular posters (of all opinions) who write thoughtful and well-informed posts, and keep things civilised both in terms of how they relate to other posters as well as the comments on royal individuals (eg, no referring to William as 'Baldy' or 'Peggy', or Catherine as KKKhate and Meghan as Meeghain or similar).

They contrast very noticeably with the 'seagull' or 'guerrilla' posters who just drop in, dump a piece of er...vitriol..., don't engage with any arguments or questions and then disappear, never to be heard of again. I have to say, in my experience, these posters are nearly always M & H supporters, though, and very possibly actual Sussex Squaddies!

I'm glad you're one of the good ones. I don't know what a Sussex Squaddie is. I'm not a royalist and also don't like gossip and so on tbh.

I - and many others as it turns out - might do exactly what you've described: seen a thread, type "I like Meghan actually" and then clear off and not think about it again. I mean, that's not vitriolic, but apparently that's secretly saying 'I hate Kate" or something.

Drop in posters are often just that (since I've been one!), no 'Sussex Squaddie' about it! It just all sounds a bit paranoid!

I think William and Kate are work shy. Kate especially.

I feel wicked saying this but I wonder if she ever had morning sickness or just needed a break. It seems she spent a long time absent whilst pregnant with each child and it always varies with pregnancy.

I had HG but it did come and go and there were times I could work.

What?! Omg what a thing to say!
She was actually hospitalised at one point. Your personal experience has no bearing on hers. Ye Gods.

Pot. I don’t see well reasoned arguments and usually just one word or several when Harry is mentioned positively by someone. Invariably, you make it about the person commenting. Not nice.

This is a common tactic, saying something completely untrue as if it’s fact. I’ve made no personal comments about any posters here. You did though, toward me and others.

SlightlygrumpyBettyswaitress · 25/07/2024 16:32

The Queen should have handed over at least 10 years before she died.
Charles should hand over when he gets to 80 at least.
And the anointed by God stuff should just never be mentioned!

You misunderstand. The anointing is akin to the anointing of a priest or bishop.
I think you'll find the Divine Right of Kings died out on the scaffold with Charles I

thisiswheretheseagullfliesaway · 25/07/2024 16:42

@CoffeeCantata hope I'm not the seagull you mentioned 😉

I think they're all entitled arseholes. What I don't like is the building one of them up to tear another down. None of them are any better than the other.

There are definitely posters though, who drop in, usually in packs of two, have a go at other posters, often sound like they use chat gpt, hang around for a couple of days and then don’t post again anywhere. Not the same as those who come across a thread because it’s trending and post something

I find these comments personal and creepy particularly as we have never engaged with one another. You are lying about me and breaking the talk guidelines.

MartyFunkhouser · 25/07/2024 17:42

My unpopular opinion is I don’t get why Harry and Meghan are so obsessed about by some posters.

They’ve left the toxic RF. Good luck to them whatever they do next.

Agree - it's bizarre the lengths they go to in order to castigate even the mildest of well-evidence critical comment to be "hate"

CurlewKate · 25/07/2024 17:53

@AngryLikeHades "Prince Philip was sometimes hilarious!"

Was he? When?

It doesn't matter how civilised you are on these boards there's always savages about waiting to attack.

Do a lot of people think Harry's real name is Harold?
It's just that I've seen a few "Harold" names knocking around and no "Henry" ones (admittedly I could easily have missed one).
Presumably the Squad and other fans of Harry know what his real name is and that "Harold" and "Willy" are William's and Harry's nicknames for each other?

You have no idea what he does. Don't be so dismissive of someone's project like this.
You don't like him? Fine. However, to be so negative on the basis of scant evidence seems very poor to me, whether you like the person or not.

Harry says that his nickname is Harold in Spare. Same with Willy for William 😃
