That they need to ditch this nonsense of never explain and stay silent. They should of spoken out when the press were nasty towards Kate and Meghan not that it has stopped either the constant comparison and putting them down.

So stand up and say enough is enough it's wrong, we don't trust people this way and as a country we should all learn to be kinder

@TheWoodlanders I think that was me replying to PerfectStorm.

Anomalies refer to M wanting a home birth & plans all apparently in place then dash to St Mary’s. Photographers confused & perplexed at some alleged dishonesty. Then home in under 2 hours from twice administered epidural, near entanglement with cord & left hosp an hour after birth. Good if you can.

Nandos in delivery suite, surprised N didn’t lamp him. Not v incense & oils as was vibe. Sanskrit mantras with chicken & chips on side.

Preg tests that take about half an hour plus.

Non piped gas & air & only one canister that runs out. Not what I’d expect from St Mary’s!

But poss most likely H letting us know he’s a relatable chap. That’s all.

coldcallerbaiter · 24/07/2024 22:28

H is C son, he has his small close together eyes, nose similar too. Look at the sister of Diana, red hair in the family.

She didn't give up the job because of the press. She made it clear to the accessories buying team at Jigsaw that she would be very part time and would come and go as she pleased, to fit in with William's demands. Jigsaw was owned by friends of her parents so she was indulged but even that was too much for her.

Yeah and she only took the job because the queen famously said what does Kate do ?? She thought it was bizarre Kate didn't have a job.

Agree!

Mine is that it's impossible to grow up without issues when you're born in a goldfish bowl and are taught from the moment you are born that you are special, historical and destined for great things. I think some of the minor royals - like Zara - might have got away with it, but the big players are all damaged in fairly significant ways and it's just down to the press to decide who is in and out of favour this month... but they're all hurting in their own way. (This also means I don't think there's much difference between Wills and Harry - just 2 sides of the same coin)

Definitely remember the weird shit from Sophie and Edward back in the day (yes I use that expression too) @Bagpussisnotmyhero!

My tuppence worth:

William has deep seated anger issues from childhood that he hasn’t dealt with. He dominates everyone around him. He has always found Harry a hindrance and didn’t like it that his brother was once more popular than him. Now he has his wife’s popularity to deal with but as long as he gets alone time without her so he can shine he will keep a lid on it.

King Charles is filled with sadness and regret for all the mistakes of the past. However, he has a short fuse and always looks for help with the most basic of stuff. I imagine he learned to wipe his own arse though.

Queen Camilla is nothing short of a diamond in the rough. Charles is lucky to have her by his side. Umbrella problems aside.

Kate is now a ‘sacred cow’ for the royal sycophants.

Harry is a ginger and a good looking dude.

Meghan is going to end up a billionaire. Meghan is going to end up a billionaire and become a face for the democrats. Meghan is going to end up a billionaire, a face for the democrats and run for some kind of political office in ten years.

The Yorks come across as odd with the exception of Eugenie.

Ann is the Queen that should have been.

😂

All the chickens come home to roost eventually.

That Diana would have hated the attention on Kate.

Absolutely💯

I was, by coincidence, recently looking through an old “Diana” book given to me when I was younger. Goodness me, the drama, so much drama and attention seeking! I honestly don’t think that the public now would ever put up with all the boyfriends, hairstyles, clothing choices, holidays, falling out with friends, constant ‘rocks’ / Charles / her own family etc etc. It was all-consuming and there’s no place for it in 2024 (thank goodness)

BeaRF75 · 24/07/2024 22:40

I like the monarchy (which is a controversial view on this website!) and appreciate their "soft power".
I would be very happy to curtsey to any of the senior royals.
Camilla is a much better consort for Charles than Diana would have ever been.
The Wales children wear perfectly normal clothes when on public duties - what else are they supposed to wear?
Complaining about the monarchy seems to come from reverse snobbery and plain jealousy - the "politics of envy" are not attractive.

AvrielFinch · 24/07/2024 22:40

The Royal Family are really good at working with the media to rewrite history,

There's also a picture of a young Prince Philip and Harry is his double.

Runsyd · 24/07/2024 22:42

I frequently get them all mixed up and call them the wrong names, or can't recall who is who's child. This is entirely due to my profound lack of interest in any of them.

Longdistancerunner · 24/07/2024 22:42

Fabulous @Bagpussisnotmyhero I remember all the weird shite too. It was a real low rent period for the monarchy.

The royal family is the most archaic, weird, odd, out of touch family that has ever disgraced our national life. No amount of ermine, tiaras, silk or carriages can hide that fact. No respect for them at all. Except for Harry. He has big cahunas! I loved Spare and I enjoy seeing all the ruffled feathers because he dared to write about his world. Look forward to more from the spare who dared. Fortune favours the brave and Harry, despite his anxieties and challenges, is a very brave man indeed. Daily Mail readers still keep getting the vapours to this day. 🤭

Sorry but this thread is really horrible.

My teen dc literally do not know any of them. They knew the Queen but that was about it. It just does not interest them.

Going forward, they will only be of interest to older people.

mirrorwritin · 24/07/2024 22:45

I think the late queen’s long life kept Britain anchored in the past and looking backwards not forwards. We’d be better off and less liable to fall for Nigel Farage-types selling misplaced nostalgia if she’d pegged it 20 years earlier.

Likewhatever · 24/07/2024 22:49

I don’t believe Meghan used a surrogate. I 100% believe she used her own frozen eggs.

VisitationRights · 24/07/2024 22:50

Wow, there is some weird conspiracy shit on this thread.

My thoughts on the RF:

  • totally outdated, have no purpose, no function, fill no need
  • Charles is a petty, angry, funny looking man
  • william has inherited his father’s anger and pettiness
  • kate is bland, boring, and unintelligent
  • camilla needs to read the bra fitting posts on S&B
  • Ann is the only one who projects any sort of class

What’s horrible is that this institution continues to exist in 2024.

You may not like the institution but it doesn't mean people have to be so downright nasty about individuals.

Totally remember the time they were embarrassing themselves and the nation with all the weird shit @Bagpussisnotmyhero and @Longdistancerunner !

Harry fan too! Lots of time and respect for him.

CurlewKate · 24/07/2024 22:59

They are not, even remotely, "just like us."

Birdingbear · 24/07/2024 22:59

I never liked the queen. Thought she was huffy, rude and stubborn and barely smiled.
Definitely pefere prince Harry than the rest. He seems more grounded and think the public give him too much of a hard time just for simply not wanting the life he had.

SemperIdem · 24/07/2024 23:05

I think people who refer to Camilla as “Queen Consort” thinking they’re being clever, are thick as shit. There have only been eight ruling queens in Englands history. All others have been “consorts”.
