I loved seeing Catherine. And loved her outfit and Charlotte's outfit. KC looked a bit teary I thought when they sang the National Anthem.

And I have gotten to the bottom of my ironing basket. Either the RF need to do more things I can iron to, or I need to do more ironing.

MyQuaintDog · 15/06/2024 14:02

I am not sure what not out of the woods yet means either giving that this is preventative chemo she said she is having. Unless she simply means the 5 years afterwards when cancer is deemed officially in remission?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 15/06/2024 14:03

airing the views of fed up non football fans during the coverage of the European Football Championships

I'd be up for a five minute rant on the above. See also snooker/athletics/rugby...particularly on BBC4. Thank God for IPLayer over the next month.

I'm seven minutes behind and just watched the red arrows. When the national anthem started playing I found it very emotional. I loved how Charlotte nudged Louis to stand as she wanted but I feel sad at how young the children are and already their parents are next in line with the work load increased for obvious reasons. Plus of course the fact that the King and Princess of Wales are unwell.

I noticed Charlotte nudging Louis too, Hands by your side, thumbs on the seam of your shorts/trousers, someone's taught her well!

I didn't watch it I imagine the sycophancy fawning meter was turned up to 11 with ponderous breathless facts about arcane traditions that probably started in Victoria's time but are regarded as timeless incarnations of our Royal heritage. Graham tells me that had a good innings for the Republic , so all bases are covered.

So I guess it's back to business as usual with the 2 Minute Harry Hate stretched out to a couple of hours !

I imagine a good innings for Graham is not getting his blank piece of paper creased in the wind, and his mum letting him have a whole packet of Mr Kipling jam tarts when he gets home.

While draped in a blanket, watching the re-runs and seeing if he can be spotted in the crowd.

@PracticallyYesterday but they didn’t speak to anyone else in the crowd, only people who had a link to the parade. The protestors didn’t have an official link, so the BBC were treating them exactly the same as the rest of the crowd

I’m an apathetic Republican, but I appreciate their effort and the fact they got heard and seen. I’m sure they would have been removed only a few years ago.

They would certainly have been removed in many of the countries they support!

crumblingschools · 15/06/2024 14:06

@JudgeJ and possibly not seen again!

Off topic but I saw an ad for Nesquick the other day. I’d completely forgotten it existed 😂😂

You obviously don't know your history.

My history of what? Apes or Trooping the Colour? What have they got to do with one another?

It was lovely and it was inspiring to see Kate today. I feel sorry for all those who twist such a joyful sight into suiting their own nasty agenda.

Too chilly for Nesquik. Hot chokkie and a jammy dodger.

Beafyudders · 15/06/2024 14:16

Well you weren’t wrong @Noseyoldcow

Alas the attempt didn’t have much impact.

skullbabe · 15/06/2024 14:17

So pleased to see her looking so well today. Glad she felt able to come and it was nice to see them all. It made it feel like things are settling back to normal.

Just adding my voice to the pleas to avoid labeling the children - you cannot base your impression of children based on the snapshots that you have into their lives and many of you are parents and understand how challenging young children find long ceremonies (royal children don't have the benefit of being taken to the back of the room or handed colouring or a device to entertain them and so it is hardly remarkable that sometimes - they act like the children they are).

I think she means her treatment hasn't finished yet. I would imagine that people would think it had finished if she's back in the public eye which is why she felt the need to spell it out. Also explains why she may not be able to attend other events in the foreseeable future.

The French put chocolate Nesquik in hot milk like hot chocolate. Kids often have it at breakfast

She's not an uncertain rider. She has hunted forebears, May she has a bad back or something.

Whoops. I don't think she has hunted for bears Grin, she has hunted for years.

crumblingschools · 15/06/2024 14:27

@smilesy I remember going on French exchange trip and the family being horrified that I didn’t like chocolate and weren’t sure what to do about cereal for me, didn’t help that my visit also coincided with Easter!

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 15/06/2024 14:28

Really fancying some Nesquik now!

Haven't had any since the 80s 🤣

Maybe it should be "Camilla hunted for bears"?
That's why you don't see Paddington there <nods wisely>

Just been catching up on this thread
It's funny, it reads like an adult conversation with a couple of toddlers occasionally going "But Mumeeeee! Why is it? I don't understaaaaand"

But Paddington was there! I meant for years.
