This seems to have caught fire in some places:

Royal Lodge was the home of the Queen Mother. If he thinks Camilla will outlive him it could come about. I can see him wanting to protect her status through that love.

Prince Andrew’s ‘rift’ with King Charles could spark unintended benefit for Queen Camilla

The Duke of York has lived in Royal Lodge since 2003

In the sense that he took a case to court Baital.

But he gets security when necessary without the court case (which he has lost so far).

Baital I think you might struggle to convince many people that these optics are dire.

Fortunately it looks as if Charles' patience with Andrew is finally running out.

I actually think Charles is the one who struggles with Andrew because he comes across as very sentimental - I think he feels strongly about the sibling bonds as the oldest.

I suspect (hope) William is going to find it easier to deal with him.

Totally agree, I think that once Charles dies Andrew will be cast adrift by William, Charles is still too much in thrall to his mother who could see no wrong in Andrew.

It must be a real punishment to Andrew though to miss out on events like yesterday. And his children are essentially outcasts as well.

I think Charles’ issue with Andrew is that he’s balancing the line between his mother’s wishes (plus not turning Andrew into a loose cannon that starts selling stories and making things even worse like the last interview) and the minor security issues with the wish to just cut the liability of his brother off completely.

Part of the payoff of inheriting everything (to avoid the taxes) in the sovereign to sovereign transfer is that you then accept the responsibility of funding siblings, niblings and cousins in terms of accommodations. Normally they just live quietly and everything works fine, but Andrew is a whole different kettle of fish.

And the age difference between Charles and Andrew means he’s very likely to be a problem for William as well

The thing he won’t have realised is that he has turned the girls into outcasts.

If he’d accepted being left out of events he could have a few more cases or strategic Covid and also given a “has opted not to attend in agreement with the king” statement which would have meant there wasn’t the same need for the new “working royals only” line up at so many events.

At the memorial service for King Constantine and at Easter Andrew had the opportunity to keep his head down and show a bit of understanding of public opinion (after the debacle at Philips memorial) and he chose not to bother. Charles and William can no longer trust him at events so his girls, and others, now also miss out as a result.

I think Beatrice and Eugenie are mastering the awful publicity though. E has lots of followers on insta too so that must keep her spirits up.

Beatrice and Eugenie aren't outcasts. They both attended a Buckingham Palace Garden Party recently.

I agree with those saying Camilla would prefer her own house. I don't actually think there is anyone specific that Charles has in mind for Royal Lodge. It's more about moving Andrew to somewhere cheaper and more suitable.

I agree!!

Even if there a formal home earmarked for her, she will do as she pelases and rightly so!!!
