I read in a fashion blog (Puck News) that some of her clothes choices are deliberately not as groomed and well put together sort of signifying that she is not part of working RF anymore but more LA relaxed style.

I think Meghan looks great in more casual clothes, but I don’t think not looking quite groomed or put together (or wearing inappropriate outfits) works at all if the outfits are ill fitting. That just looks a mess

i certainly think that if you attend lots of “society” functions or are in the public eye a lot, renting is the way to go since you don’t the have the storage problem and you have access to a huge variety of clothing. You do need to make sure stuff fits properly, however

Serenster · 10/06/2024 07:53

Not just those in the public eye - I know some women who are partners in big professional firms who have stylists, who will go and shop for them, and send them selections of clothes to try on, as well as picking specific outfits for big events.

Yes I do too

I know a few senior women who have stylists - I used to work for one and talked to her about it

And also one SAHM married to a very wealthy man who has one too - sometimes even using it just for the odd dinner date 😮

deeahgwitch · 10/06/2024 08:56

I think Eugenie should change her stylist to Beatrice's one if they have different ones.

KatyaKabanova · 10/06/2024 08:29

Interesting. I think it's fine to look relaxed and informal, but so often the items are creased and the proportions wrong. She looks great in very casual clothes, I think the "in-between" look is harder to do successfully.

I also thought her clothes often looked creased when she was in the RF. I think she is super beautiful, has an amazing figure (so this is not a bashing post) but often her clothes look a bit wrong (ill fitting, creased, too much skin for the occasion see their trip to Nigeria, wrong underwear) unfortunately.

SuuzeeeQ · 10/06/2024 09:16

I think MM gets a lot of free stuff now as she keeps wearing similar US designers. Surely you would think they tailor it for public appearances?

MaturingCheeseball · 10/06/2024 09:25

I don’t think Meghan’s outfits are bad (but then I’m not the most stylish!) it’s just that often they are inappropriate - the Nigerian flesh show, or the short playsuit shorts with skinny legs to march with veterans. Or even when she wore that big wool cape in 70 degree weather.

Married to an Italian that’s why 😂😅

That was exactly my reaction to the question! Inevitabile, if there is such a word in Italian.

My Italian friends who live in London all joke that Edo improved her style 😂 I think he grew up in the UK, so maybe he can’t take full credit.

SuuzeeeQ · 10/06/2024 09:30

I have now seen a short video on twitter and the bridal shoes look very ugly (sorry!). Colour aside they look like hoofs and not elegant at all. Such a shame, she is so beautiful.

A slight aside but this is something that bugs me. Being Italian or French does not necessarily give you innate style. It has a
lot to do with where in those countries you live and the influences you were brought up experiencing. And having money helps. There are plenty of unstylish people too

Yeah I said it was a joke.I grew up in one of those countries, I know not everyone is stylish there!

But this thread shows that many wealthy people can’t buy style either and despite being beautiful and rich, they don’t always dress well.

Sorry, it was meant a s a general observation because it’s often trotted out as a reason why someone from those places looks good. The bottom line is you are either stylish or not, regardless of nationality or wealth 😆

LaMarschallin · 10/06/2024 09:35

It's probably too late to score myself a style-enhancing Italian.
I've got a DH from Yorkshire whose one bit of fashion advice, when I said I was chilly, was:
Well, put an extra jersey on before you turn the heating up.
Tha's already paid for t'jersey.

(He didn't say the second sentence in broad Yorkshire. I just heard it like that)

BeaFuddled · 10/06/2024 09:38

I thought Eugenie got Frogmore Cottage after the Sussexes bolted?

MitskiMoo · 10/06/2024 09:42

I think she looked stunning and the tiara was the icing on the cake. The bridesmaid's dresses are another matter though, absolutely hideous.

They left some time ago. It’s just been sitting empty.

BeaFuddled · 10/06/2024 09:49

Olivia should have legged it into the Cathedral instead of waiting for the poor designer to try and get the veil and train under control. Though Pippa Middleton would have no doubt managed to tame it!

Gorgeous dress but dear god - for one family to have so much wealth is truly sickening. Don't care how "nice" they are.

Wouldn’t normally the bridesmaid help with the veil? Or her sister?

ArcaneWireless · 10/06/2024 10:03

I loved the wafting veil. It made for some striking pictures.

There will always be folk richer than me. These days I don’t get excited about it as long as I have enough. If they chose to hand out lucky bags though, I’d gratefully accept!

My colleague is always saying how lucky I am. I have spare money. I don’t have kids so have spare time. Etc., etc.

He doesn’t know what happened to my children. He has no idea of my expenses with my family. I need 38 hours in a day. These days I feel like I’m drowning.

It is all relative I suppose.

I agree a fairer society would be marvellous. It just won’t happen.

Like so.

Just me or are the majority of clothing choices there direct from the 80s.? Dress designer looked like a typical Sloane Ranger .And all those white shoes .

I still love these shoes and think it's a nice quirk.

Daisy Jenks looks stunning (whoever she might be) in that long, ombre dress a page or so back in the Eugiene photos. Beautiful
