You could also argue that it’s The Crown that has driven interest in Harry and Meghan. I would think that’s the more likely scenario than Harry and Meghan driving interest in The Crown.

You could argue that. 😀

They just can’t let Harry and Meghan go can they. 😂

“"So the royals will have to draw on the reserves and enlist some more working royals so us, the taxpayers, feel like we are getting our money's worth," the expert said. Haddy said that the palace should take a strategic move and "opt for more younger members of the Firm, as we are still reeling from the loss of Prince Harry and Meghan."”

Love how you’re having to derail your own thread because (maybe you’ve just realised) it’s not looking good for Meghan and Harry at Netflix! 😂

😊, not at all. Just amused that the media cannot let go of this irrelevant couple.

I am looking forward to the next round of manic headlines when Meghan and Harry carry on doing what they are doing. It seems they are living rent free in the heads of some peeps.

They have made their money, more to come and I do hope she sells a jar or two of jam. 😅Certainly, a few years down the line I look forward to Meghan’s memoir. I am sure she will make a pile just as Harry did with ‘Spare’.

OP you're clearly not open to any opinion but your own. How anyone can describe their position now compared to six years ago a success is beyond me. To go from having the world at their feet to now being a rent a royal is a pretty incredible achievement. It'll be telling if Netflix give them a new contract after this year or proceed with 'Meet me at the lake,' or whatever it was called.

They are successful. They have made it. Everything else is just about tearing them down because they dared speak about what happened to them.

I guess if they are successful and have made it they don’t really need the cheerleading anymore. What does success mean, though?

"Made it" in what context?

They left the royal family with considerable wealth and fame, almost entirely due to Harry's family. That put them in a very privileged position to start with. 4 years on, what exactly have they achieved that is not related to their faded royal status? In what industry can be said to have 'made it'?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 02/06/2024 11:27

Ain't THAT the truth.

They are successful. They have made it

As what and at what?

BemusedAmerican · 02/06/2024 13:57

Isn't the jam phase over? That was two months ago.

I hope Meghan publishes her memoirs. That might inspire another South Park episode.

AnnieSF · 02/06/2024 14:21

They are succ*essful.

Oh my .... 😂😂😂

Less successful than my attempt at bold text 🙄

Talk about ‘letting go’ Harry and Meghan just seem to cling on to every bit of “Royalness” that they can. The titles, both theirs and those for the children, the faux royal tour, the doormat, (which you would hope to God, is tongue in cheek but it’s not), the crown above the monogrammed M on the personalised stationery……they seem to be the ones who need to let go but won’t.
Or in fact can’t! Because it’s the cash cow.

DelectableMe · 02/06/2024 16:00

The crown above the monogrammed M on her notepaper! Love it 😂

aclapperfullofcrap · 02/06/2024 16:18

For once, just once, I’d like to see someone show their own opinion without having to resort to copious links and stressing their points with lols. Or yowling for sources to opposite opinions.

H&M are very much loved by the press for their clicks and giggles. But that is all it is.

That doesn’t make them loved. It doesn’t make them successful. It doesn’t make them popular.

For most, they are a joke. A catastrophic car crash in slow time.

Sad but true.

I for one would very much like to read M’s memoir. It would be a fascinating read if the contents were honest and true.

However, it is likely to be full of the same self indulgent drama laden pish as her husband’s was.

It's such an incredibly adolescent expression. Very 2017 or thereabouts.

Why is anyone using it on what is supposedly a forum for grown ups?

I don't mind ( not that my opinion is important ) if they earn their own money - it is what they wanted to do but I do think they are clinging on to the Royal connection to do it ,even post Netflix thing Oprah , Spare etc . Once they find something they can do on their own merits - different matter.

I think 'finding something they can do on their own merits' is the problem.

I for one would very much like to read M’s memoir. It would be a fascinating read if the contents were honest and true.

I think Omid Scobie has already published that for her. It was called “Finding Freedom”.

It contained such gems as “Meghan’s willingness to help others and her drive to excel meant she often was deemed ‘fake’ by classmates at school who felt it was impossible for anyone to be that ‘perfect.

And she’s an amazing packer….”Extremely organized, Meghan immediately impressed Harry with her packing skills. She has always taken pride in being a great packer – going as far as layering dryer sheets in between her clothes to keep them smelling fresh and no matter her destination always bringing tea-tree oil for bites, cuts and pimples – and her skills were appreciated by the prince

And she was far too dedicated to enjoy a drink at college… “‘not [into] partying like most of her normal college kids. Her friends would never run into Meg, as they called her, at a bar in the middle of the week. Friday nights, when her sorority sisters were all going out to parties, Meg was headed to professors’ houses to babysit

This article says the opposite with respect to Meghan and her time at Northwestern. Nothing wrong with having a good time! It only matters because it seems like Scobie was helping Meghan build a false persona.

Meghan Markle's wild party days: before she became the Duchess of Sussex

Like most college kids, Meghan Markle liked to drink and party at Northwestern University. She was also a sorority sister at Kappa Kappa Gamma.
