Interesting video, a bit alarming though I’d take at least some of it with a slight pinch of salt….

Just for info many regulators see nothing wrong or illegal with cabin crew operating both Airbus and Boeings, as long as they are trained and hold attestations on the types involved (cabin crew where I worked didn’t hold licences). Obviously if Air Peace are genuinely are not training cabin crew on all types they work on that’s a real concern

Images of warning messages on flight deck displays are meaningless without context, and you certainly wouldn’t expect tail strike damage to slip past an engineer or a ramp check in the Uk…

OTOH some of the goings on on the ground are a bit bizarre but won’t surprise anybody who has meant much time at some Nigerian airports.

'A pinch of salt' 😳

Two years ago, this guy released two videos about his experience on Air Peace. I posted a link to the 2nd video, in the first video he shows a very young child sleeping unrestrained across a row of seats as the plane is landing, the crew never bothered to do any pre landing check, they spent the whole flight on their phones. The johannesburg flight had a crew that worked for over 18 hours, which is totally illegal in the aviation world.

His experience was also the experience of others who commented and in personal messages and the photographic evidence he received. Why would he make that up ?

I guess for some it's okay to minimise that video now that it's known H&M have a link with the owner and it just might show how shady their judgement and security is.

The aviation industry are held up as the last bastion and gold standard of safety. I wouldn't describe it as nit picky if it doesn't meet regulations.

Harry requesting that the sm posts are taken down is utterly ridiculous. Some poor intern is crying at their desk I'm sure.

peanutbuttertoasty · 23/05/2024 20:10

The one in dungarees looks like she’s going fruit picking!!

Absolutely.

Shades of demanding the name of the Ravec official who decided he wasn't to be afforded the wraparound police security he craved.

He really doesn't get the real world 😆

It must burn for them to be exposed as having endorsed a very dodgy airline, owned by an even dodgier character wanted for fraud and money laundering in Meghans' own home country.

I also read the acronym for American xxx, ARO, is somehow linked to the Princess title she accepted from the dodgy King, not sure if that is correct, but if that is true, what another big burn that would be.

and demanding the footage from TMZ of 'The Chase'!

In fact, the video of Meghan arriving has been watermarked with Air Peace branding and the final frame is the company's logo and slogan, making it effectively an advert.

The reference to Air Peace being "royally approved" may also ruffle feathers at the palace/

Jeez, they stepped straight into a pile of crap accepting that free ride.

DelectableMe · 23/05/2024 20:38

Oh my god, it keeps getting worse. What silly people they are.

I take your point to a great extent , I agree he had plenty of grounds for having a good go at parts of the operation but at times he definitely overdid it and TBH at least at times didn’t come over as being completely objective….that doesn’t mean I’d want to fly with them , most definitely not on the domestic side of things.

Unfortunately at times the influencer was clearly playing to his audience to some degree with the whinges, especially the grumble about the staff at the airports not happy about being filmed - if he pulled that stunt in many countries, inside or outside Africa, he’d be in cuffs PDQ…

The johannesburg flight had a crew that worked for over 18 hours, which is totally illegal in the aviation world.

You need a copy of Nigerian Flight Time Limitations to judge the legality of it all but I agree on the surface it sounds “off”….. However, and not trying to minimize, and with a rider that this may have changed since I stopped flying: under European rules our cabin crew could do a 19 hours Flying Duty Period, I have a feeling at one time the US may have allowed 20 hours ….but to do that you’d need facilities and crew compliments that rather I suspect Air Peace don’t provide.

Anyhow, my final two pence worth on this is Air Peace’s ops to the UK might just be OK but I suspect they’ll see a few ramp checks at Gatwick - I wouldn’t touch their domestic product with a barge pole.

Mummyoflittledragon · 23/05/2024 21:53

Oh dear me. I wonder if this is giving any food for thought across the pond.

smilesy · 23/05/2024 22:10

The Independent is claiming that the Sussexes are planning a “tour” to Ghana next. If it’s true, what on Earth for 🤔

Among developed nations this may be generally true, but sadly the same high standards aren't found everywhere and some are considered so bad that they're banned from even entering UK airspace:

Interesting, I didn't know that. For some reason, I assumed that standards, were worldwide. Every day is a school day with H&M!

Gorgonemilezola · 23/05/2024 23:22

You'd think award winning aviator Prince Harry would take notice of stuff like air safety.

Gorgonemilezola · 23/05/2024 23:23

And considering his security fears for his family, I wonder why having his wife flown on an obviously substandard airline was acceptable to him.

It's comedy gold!

And, if true, just continues to show the true personalities of the people involved...

Or their desperation to make money any old how? Presumably they’re going to need an awful lot of material for the next Netflix movie?
I wonder if they have to pay back Netflix if they don’t produce the goods?

Someone explained how these deals work on a previous thread . I don’t think they received the full ( alleged) $100 million upfront ; they have to produce content .
I do think that Netflix were hoping for more Royal gossip for their money . Are people really that interested in polo ? And another cooking programme ?
Anyone know what’s happening with ARO ??

I wouldn't be surprised if nothing happens , it's all gone very quiet.

Hi, late in spotting that so sorry to double back but I will

FWIW the “nit pick” I was referring upthread to was basically what appears to be a grumble/observation about where exactly some documents were stowed on the flight deck…

Now yes, there is usually a list of what should go where but sometimes stuff gets moved in flight and doesn’t make it back to the CAA/FAA approved stowage after flight.

That sort of thing is Manna from heaven for an inspector but genuinely not the most safety critical thing in the world. If the inspector picked that out for comment it means there wasn’t much else wrong with that particular flight/aircraft.
