I REALLY don’t think so.
Do you honestly think the kind of media you are describing exists solely in the U.K.?
The U.K. has always had scum newspapers, and the rest of the countries in the world have their fair share of them too, trust me. It really depends on what you read.
In fact, I can’t remember the last time I seen or read about Harry or Meghan via any media, even the Jamaican PM’s comments you mention seem to have escaped me. I only ever see them mentioned on Mumsnet.
I do actually have friends and family that live out with the U.K. But they aren’t staying up to date with U.K. affairs by reading The Sun and the Daily Mail. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever discussed Harrry and Meghan with them in my life.
If you want to read something specific online, you will certainly find it.
I absolutely maintain that beyond a few hundred people, no one actually cares. What one encounters online is not reflective of real life.
These two people get more column inches than most other single issue.
They really don’t. And the world isn’t judging us by what the The Sun newspaper reports either.
