Do not read or comment if you aren't interested!

Shamefully starting a new Kate related thread for the fellow people like me who are so far down the rabbit hole they need to talk it out with fellow tin foil hat wearers 🤙
I want to know.. what do you think?
Where is she?
The wild theories?
Will she make the Easter Day service?
What the hell is going on over at KP?

I think she's seriously ill and will be stepping back soon.

I've got popcorn and I've got alllllll night, let's dissect.

A responsibility to share their medical information?

At the very least a responsibility not to try and pass of a badly photoshopped Mothers day photo as real, to the extent that our next Head of State, the person who apparently has to use his soft power to represent us on the Royal Stage runs an organisation that is no longer a trusted source by the worlds press.

Some facts would be good as it’s a role we are funding. It’s not “a job” you get signed off from is it. They all know this which is why we know about the Kings illness and the Queen before him said she was taking it easier. That’s why this whole thing is dodgy.
Normally you’d get Kate home signing thank you cards to well wishers or something. Easter is two weeks away. If we’re expecting her to pop out all recovered she must surely be well on the way by now.

"Abdominal surgery" for Kate (no constitutional or legal responsibilities) is far more specific than "mobility problems" was for the queen (actual head of state). We have all the facts we're entitled to for now.

Either she'll make a full or close enough to full recovery to gradually return to work as normal, or she'll have ongoing issues and they'll have to explain them in some fashion, if only to deal with the speculation.

Her job shouldn't exist, but there's nothing wrong with her taking time away from it while she's ill, she hasn't even been away that long in the context of major surgery.

Unfortunately a solo Willy just doesn't have the same star quality...

I don't think he'd admit that. Him turning up on his own to Earthshot will not keep the Monarchy going. Especially as all we see is the glitzy event every year with celebrities in person, but prizewinners on Zoom. I don't think ' Man in charge of a family with a carbon footprint the size of a planet tells us about the environment' will wash past this generation of Royalists. I
f he wants the press to turn up to his handshaking afterwards with Earthshot prizewinners then he needs to cooperate with them, and that will mean giving them access. That's where he will fall down. He needs them, they don't need him to cooperate. They are dying anyway, and don't want to look like the forelock tugging fools they are when everyone else in the world is saying things they cant.

I agree with your last paragraph, and she's not going to have to worry about chasing up aftercare, losing her job, looking after/providing for her family, housework, cost of living etc etc etc
She doesn't have to read her press or deal with pr. Even if she wanders unwittingly onto Mumsnet.

I think that poster was being sarcastic.

skippy67 · 16/03/2024 09:39

Why are posters saying she's had "major" surgery, when the official line has always been "planned abdominal surgery"?

I think a lot of abdominal surgery is major. My understanding is that c -sections are also classified as major.

Planned abdominal surgery is often major, and a two week admission and three month recovery is not consistent with a minor op.

I had assumed that being out of action until Easter was erring n the side of caution should her recovery take longer than expected.

Cannot understand at all why they felt pressured into releasing such a photoshopped pic.

What are the press so up in arms about that they keep pressuring?

Surely they don't gaf about the about what the surgery was or any details surrounding that?

So what are they so desperate to get into the light?

My radical take is that there’s been no affair, they love each other very much and she’s recovering for as long as she’s been advised to after major surgery.

I agree with you

Yeah but we haven’t been told if it’s expected she’ll make a full recovery or it’s ongoing.I’d say mobility problem's give you a good enough description of how the previous Queen could be expected to conduct her role without specifics. Abdominal surgery could mean anything from it’s a long term problem to a hernia and everything in between.

What they aren’t saying is more relevant that what they have said hence my comment about buying time.

Maybe they don't want to lie and say she's expected to make a fully recovery because they actually don't know.

It could be a stoma that's reversible or maybe that's it she'll be stuck with a bag forever.

It could even be a lump they were trying to remove and didn't know if it was benign or not.

There are high profile young kids involved they do not need playground gossip about their mum

Apparently they are not attending school at the moment so no worries about school ground gossip... How would such a school deal with such increased media attention especially with all the other families safety to think of too?

Is there any evidence the kids aren't in school? It gets stated a lot on these threads but I've no idea why.

Missingprincess · 16/03/2024 12:34

I would imagine firstly if they are not in school it's to stop the children from hearing rumours. Secondly possibly with the increased press interest from the national & foreign press is there security issues with children being dropped off & collected. Do families in the school have to sign a non disclosure or how would that work? Even school plays etc?

myrtleWilson · 16/03/2024 12:35

You're not answering @ColleenDonaghy question there though @Missingprincess - is there any evidence the children are not in school?
