So to answer the OP - I think that there will be no announcement. Catherine will appear at Easter looking splendid (and healthy, one hopes). They’ll take the school holiday off because they’re not massive workaholics. Life will go on.

That isn't true. The American Press have always published scandal and rumours mainstream about the Royal Family. They published long articles and photos of Wallis Simpson and Prince of Wales for years- on holidays, at events- identifying her as his 'close companion' and even, I think, his mistress, meanwhile the British Press published nothing. Same with Camilla and Charles. It took years for the British Press to publicly state what was going on- in other countries the story was fair game. The published much more explicit stories bout Diana's relationships and about the rumours surrounding Prince Phillip having affairs.

I am notoriously always the last to pick up on what is really going on. I don't think there is an affair. I think Kate had an operation that she would prefer was not public knowledge or up for detailed discussion in the Press.

I'm not expecting any announcement other than the date she will be re-commencing her public duties.
