What a weasel.
Whilst Kate is clearly very unwell, he thinks it will be a good idea to go on national tv and 'spill the beans'.
I can't see him actually knowing much inside information about the Royals.
More likely he will be slagging Harry and Meghan off, which won't be helpful to either party.
The whole family must be on pins.
I won't be watching, I wouldn't anyway, awful programme.

Yes the papers have reported that ITV had to do 'careful editing' of what Gary said.

It's absolutely backfired on Gary - given massive publicity to his assault on his wife. Not sure the Middletons will be thrilled about any of it.

ChanelNo19EDT · 09/03/2024 08:33

yes, i never knew he had assaulted his xw. Knew about the cocaine though. And I never knew he called his house on mallorca ''casa bang bang''. geez.. He's brought it all to our attention.

ThePoshUns · 09/03/2024 08:35

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Slow motion car crash in progress....
thread title made me laugh. There needs to be a light hearted thread about what your own uncle Gary would do on CBB. Lots of uncle Gary's out there I bet.

Grosshesselohe · 09/03/2024 09:01

It worked in one respect, it makes me sympathise with Kate. Also impressed with her for being the bigger person and inviting him to her wedding, rather than trying to sweep him under the carpet

ChanelNo19EDT · 09/03/2024 09:04

Yeh, they played it just right. They still love him and don't shun him. They're clearly really careful around him, and rightly so!!!! He is probably told the big news just moments before it's released. Carole rings Gary to tell him the good news that Kate is pregnant (i mean, years ago). Carole has known for ages, but she says 'we've just heard! and how are you Gary?!'' then about a day later the world know.s

Livingtothefull · 09/03/2024 09:22

So just to get this straight: Kate is praised for being 'the bigger person' for not cutting her uncle off despite him beating up her aunt in the street, and being involved with drugs. Nobody irl would be praised for that - I think wife beaters are the scum of the earth and I know the drugs industry leaves a trail of victims in its wake, so is not a victimless crime.

Yet Kate along with her family is praised for standing by her uncle regardless. Just another example to me though of the RF standing by exploiters and abusers of the vulnerable within and connected to them, with the media/sections of the public (including a few posters on here) conniving in this.

Pushtart · 09/03/2024 09:24

It's called enabling and minimising when people stand behind violent offenders who harm women. It has a wider effect on society when someone in public roles do it. So there should be no praise for this, whatsoever. Whether its ITV, Hell magazine or the royal family, minimising and normalising violence against women is wrong.

Pushtart · 09/03/2024 09:31

oops I was going to edit hell magazine but I think I'll leave it!

I think he made a mistake going in the house tbh. He came across really badly .
Just a very stupid man

I’m not surprised they keep him close. Imagine what he could say if they cut him loose. Much better to keep him on a tight rein. But then My cousin was abusive to his ex wife. I don’t speak to him unless I absolutely have to.

Roussette · 09/03/2024 10:24

I'm not sure I would be perfectly ok with a man who knocks his wife unconscious in the street with a left hook, who has been married four times and who had a restraining order out on him

Bizarre

Yeah keep embracing the domestic abuser because he might blab about you. Cover your own back at the cost of the woman who was attacked by her own husband. Not like that silly Meghan who cut off her own toxic family.

maddiemookins16mum · 09/03/2024 11:07

The fact he calls himself a member of the Royal Family was enough to put me off him.

Odd character.

Colson is my favourite.

ToffeeTalk · 09/03/2024 11:09

Yes absolutely no credit whatsoever for any member of the rf to fail to call out an abusive relative for fear it might rock their boat.

I have huge doubts about the sincerity of all the gender appropriate pet projects which are meted out - Camilla ‘shining a light’ on domestic violence etc. Sure.

I’m certainly pleased that Gary has managed to shine a light of his own, all on his own - because no-one in the rf was going to do it for him.

ToffeeTalk · 09/03/2024 11:10

Agree. He’s certainly odd apart from clearly being deeply unpleasant.

Pushtart · 09/03/2024 11:12

It just makes me sad that we as a society are still so fucked up around violence that this man can actually get this gig at all.

The domestic abuse happened long after Kate’s wedding.

But why let the facts stand in the way of a nasty post?

kirinm · 09/03/2024 11:14

I'm not talking about Kate's wedding. Why didn't she disown him when it happened? You're the one saying she's done the right thing, not me.

ToffeeTalk · 09/03/2024 11:16

The timing of the incident (before or after Kate’s marriage) is wholly irrelevant. The family have had seven years to call Gary out publicly.

We have no idea whether she has disowned him? You certainly know nothing about it.

In all likelihood she probably has disowned him, because he seemed to have nothing to lose by going on CBB.

He mentioned speaking to Carole recently- that was probably just her calling to read him the riot act.

As for the wedding, Kate showed that she was the bigger person by inviting her extended family, including her embarrassing uncle. Yes, unlike Meghan, as you pointed out, who suddenly thought she was too important to fraternise with her biological family any more, even her own father.

kirinm · 09/03/2024 11:27

@Grosshesselohe

Is this you? 'Also impressed with her for being the bigger person and inviting him to her wedding, rather than trying to sweep him under the carpet'

You're the one 'impressed' with her and you appear to know that she hasn't swept him under a carpet.

kirinm · 09/03/2024 11:28

@Grosshesselohe and there we have it. It was always a dig at Meghan. You're impressed with someone who hasn't shunned her abusive uncle. 👌

Livingtothefull · 09/03/2024 11:39

No@Grosshesselohe it does not make Kate the bigger person at all. For the 1000th time, he is more than just embarrassing he is a wife beater and drug user. It is just nauseating to see this trivialised as 'naughty Uncle Gary', very depressing as to me it looks like internalised misogyny on show here.

And he had nothing to lose by going on CBB, everyone already knows he is trash. None of us know whether or not Kate or her family have disowned him so you are just speculating on this, but they really need to distance themselves at least publicly, just as the RF should distance themselves from Andrew but don't.

And you can't resist a swipe at Meghan who made her decision to cut off family members, it was her personal decision but her reasons look sound enough to me and not just because she felt 'too important' to associate with them. God the Meghan-hatred gets boring....she left the RF 4 years ago, worry about the ones still here.

Erm, you were the one who mentioned Meghan! I merely agreed with you
