Eton upped their academic entrance requirements after Harry left and after it was clear that Oxbridge entrance would be more scrutinised at the academic level. So George will need to pass the exam, otherwise would be seen as bending it for him. Although being part of an old Etonian family supposedly still counts when applying, all other things being equal?

Irrelevant to the thread but I did not know those long skirts were actually culottes at Oundle.

I've visited a few times as they host a lot of swim training camps for SE.

I always loved how the girls wore long skirts and also don't have to wear a tie.

It's also such a lovely village and I even enjoyed it one visit where I was walking around the village in -6° 🥶

Regarding poster saying kids at Marlborough have phones all the time. That is not true. It definitely varies from house to house but some are v strict particularly in the younger years.

Also phone use is a massive issue in every school with teens. I have children in different schools and and many friends with dc in other schools and nudes etc is an issue in every single school. Any school who says it isn't an issue is just telling lies.

Maybe George is just going to go to the local state school - that would show us all ;)

All these visits (if correct) suggest that Eton is not on the cards any more but the tutor guy flogging his wares in the Hello piece is over egging the difficulty of getting into Eton a bit: live in tutors/ comparable to Oxbridge entrance etc

I liked the look of the culottes compared with our uniform (striped shirts and A-line skirts). (We did a couple of joint concerts).

All the girls I know at Oundle love the culottes! They’re really practical, and they all wear sensible chunky shoes with them. Much more sensible than knee length skirts! The fitted blouses and tailored jackets are much more flattering than baggy shirts and boxy blazers which a lot of schools have!

My daughters love the culottes. Unfortunately they are £105 a pair and one of mine shot up 6 inches in her first year but there are regular second hand uniform sakes THANK GOD. Not that this would necessarily be of interest to the Wales'.

They have £27.99 pencils in Coleman's. My husband is very keen for one but thinks too pricey. I told him to just whack it on the bill so it doesn't count.

They move by helicopter.

In that sense their location is not too relevant - everything is close in a helicopter!
