Harry and Meghan think the royal family have a vendetta against them.

Just to clarify the reference to racism are verifiable and very, very real. Only last week six ex Met policemen in the UK were found guilty of racism directed at Meghan Markle and received suspended prison sentences.
Not a statement, no allegations, no chaos and neither was it nuts.

I was referring to the Dior stuff and the Oprah interview racism which became unconscious bias. Nothing about what you have mentioned above.

Yes they did. I thought they'd done that as a run up to sponsorship.

Well it's onward and upward (I hope) for the Sussexes as they go into the new year. Hopefully they can concentrate on making their way in America without all the drama.

Yes, brilliant post @unbelieveable22 don’t really follow the going ons of the royalsand so I’m not up to date on all the controversy , but this really stood out to me as I remember how things were back in 2017/2018.

Meghan is a woman who came to this country and fell in love. The way she was treated since day one has been appalling. This rubbish myth that people changed their feeling about her after she got married is just that

I hear this myth repeated time and time again and it’s trash, because I remember the headlines about “straight out of Compton” and the nasty people commenting under those articles in the tabloids. In fact her race was a bit ambiguous to me the first time I seen her, but it was people’s reactions and subtly racist comments which put me onto the fact she may have some black heritage , which was confirmed after I did some Googling.

A friend of mine (who is a nurse) sent a photoshopped picture of Meghan with a penis and expected me to laugh . This friend is a nurse so her colleagues were all nurses and this is the kindness they showed. This was the day after her and Harry’s wedding. I challenged her at the time and she didn’t like it.

Surprise surprise said (now former) friend showed herself to be a racist a few months later.

You do realise that the article 'straight outta Compton', was from a British born journalist based in Los Angeles who I believe is long term resident in America. That actually makes sense because no one in this country has a clue what Compton is. Nasty of course and racist too, but I really don't get why someone would write that? Just why? (For clarity I've not read the article, just allusions to it since).

I don't care. It was printed in a popular British newspaper, it's irrelevant who wrote it. It was read over here. And quoted endlessly, it fed into a nasty racist agenda, along with the 'exotic blood' entering the Royal Family written by the sister of our very own ex PM, Johnson.

I've read it. I couldn't comment on it unless I had. It's vile.

Also, if you aren’t generally aware of the phrase or the stereotype of the neighborhood - there is no way that that headline could be anything BUT racist and classicist and I think generally anti-American. Even more so because Meghan was not from Compton at all. It’s just ignorant.

Highly recommend the movie about how NWA, the band whose album was titled “Straight Outta Compton” came together if you can find it. I probably watched it ten times long ago because it’s great and also because it was on cable regular for a while.
