And as such have scuppered the couple's planned representation of the Dior brand, that having been hijacked by Camilla and the kate Middleton actress.

Backfired a little this thread? Who would have thought that the rumour re Dior may have emanated from @Mumsnet in the first place. I am not at all surprised given the 'I think' 'What if' on some posts here being repeated as fact on another. Report? Why bother. Better it be left for all to see in totality.

This forum was founded initially for Mums as a supportive place for women to come and feel safe. Yes it has evolved over time and how. . I have popped in, off and on over the past few weeks and witnessed a huge pile on particularly on Harry and Meghan
Now I couldn't give a fiddlers about their status, what they represent etc but to see a woman being lied about, torn to shreds, stories being regurgitated over and over, bullied, harassed, and having shade thrown at her from other females is horrible to witness. This has sunk to new levels. Some posters have been prolific and I am glad that those who often try to provide some balance largely stayed off those threads. Instead of directing their sarcasm at those posters those participating have jumped on each others backs to be more outrageous, each trying to outdo the previous contributor.

Omid Scobie and his book have accumulated almost 7000 posts many of which have been directed at Meghan and to a lesser extent Harry. This is in addition to all the other threads and posts.

It has now got to the stage where posters are popping over and back to Tattle (?) and doing a comparison between the two. Is that something to be proud of as women? Some mention they are 'professional' in their postings though I fail to see the relevance except they are possibly looking for validation that their words carry more weight 😀. Would they behave in such a manner in their workplace? Would they as women behave in such a fashion towards other women in public? Would they like their children to witness their behaviour online? If the answer is yes then ???

We are repeatedly told Meghan is irrelevant, Yet along with the media whose lies and exaggeration is often repeated on here with glee, some just cannot stop discussing her. The phrase 'wish she'd piss off to Montecito and leave us all alone' was stated on here a long time ago. She did and still some are obsessed.

Meghan is a woman who came to this country and fell in love. The way she was treated since day one has been appalling. This rubbish myth that people changed their feeling about her after she got married is just that.

Remember the headline in the Sun in 2016 “Harry girl’s on Pornhub”? Even as far back as 2016 the media and social media was being called out from sexism and racial undertones when commenting about Meghan.

How can the headline in the same year 2016 in the Daily Mail ''Harry's girl is (almost) straight outta Compton: Gang-scarred home of her mother revealed - so will he be dropping by for tea?'' be forgotten?
The racism continued unabated, who can forget Michael and her brooch?

The furore and criticism when Meghan guest edited Vogue in 2019 and the words of the then editor Edward Enniful ' “Was the criticism racist? Some of it, yeah,” Enninful says. “Actually it was more than racism,” he adds. “I thought it was personal – attacking someone you don’t know, attacking her.”

The letters sent to Meghan with white powder which was treated as a race hate crime, the jailing of 2 neo nazi thugs for threatening to kill both Harry and Meghan, the retired police officers who admitted sending racist messages about Meghan and narrowly avoided jail this week, the police officers from Bethnal Green Police Station who sent racist jokes about Meghan on a What's app group, the investigation into more 'jokes' by members of West Yorkshire police force.
So much more and all of it recorded and provable. Every person that posts on social media about alleged incidents, speculates on what might have happened or may have been said are part of the problem. For example the opening post above may have originated on here and has subsequently made its way to a tabloid and hey presto makes it way back here for more gossip, speculation and innuendo.

While some here can give every little detail of what Meghan is alleged to have said or done, will post and repost the same old over and over again I have yet to see the words of Neil Basu being repeated ad nauseum let alone even once, They should be.,
For every denial of racism on here and there have been many the words of Neil Basu call out strongly. When asked if there had been many credible threats against Meghan’s life, Basu answered: “Absolutely, and if you’d seen the stuff that was written and you were receiving it … the kind of rhetoric that’s online, if you don’t know what I know, you would feel under threat all of the time.”
He added: “We had teams investigating it. People have been prosecuted for those threats.”

Eh?

@unbelieveable22 What a really good post.

How embarrassing to have a MN thread picked up and quoted as fact in the Express when it is just gossip and untrue.
In fact, Dior actually denied ever offering Meghan any arrangement with them. Yet that doesn't stop MNers amplifying these lies and making out that Meghan is crying into her latte because she's been ditched!

I think she has been treated abominably, and it started here on the day she got engaged. No one knew her or what she was like yet the threads about her were horrific. And it's never stopped. I do think it's become an addictive habit to hate on her. No idea why.

As for Tattle Life and MNers finding it fun... god help us. The only time I've looked at that bottom feeding forum, I have been shocked and horrified, is that what you want for yourselves?

Your post puts it so much better than me, so thank you. And I just hope it stays up. It deserves to.

unbelieveable22 · 15/12/2023 16:13

Just to clarify @Roussette I am not saying the claim that the Express has picked it up from here is accurate but others have speculated that may be the case. 😀Seems plausible.
However, the facts posted above about Meghan are true, Shame we cannot have thousands of posts on those facts and how badly she has been treated. Some might need to use a mirror if that was to happen and that would not be a comfortable experience.

TheCrystalPalace · 15/12/2023 16:14

@unbelieveable22 "throwing shade at another woman?"
What, you mean like Meghan did at Kate the whole way through the Oprah interview?

Roussette · 15/12/2023 16:14

@unbelieveable22 Yes, we don't know do we. I get that. But to be pleased/proud that that might be the case when it is an outright lie, is a tad worrying!

Samcro · 15/12/2023 16:20

How did Meghan throw shade at the Oprah Winfrey.show? What words did she use? Even so, does anyone deserve the nastiness that Meghan gets?

It certainly fits their victim narrative. The one they've been peddling the past few years, as well as their absolute disregard for the negative affects of their own behaviours.

😂😂😂

Sad, pitiful and obsessed.

AliceOlive · 15/12/2023 17:43

The article is weird. I’m not buying this “source”. But I’m curious - how do these fashion house deal work?

Are they paying Camilla or giving her free clothes? How about the actress?

cheezncrackers · 15/12/2023 18:52

Are they paying Camilla or giving her free clothes?

No, the RF don't accept freebies nor payment for wearing a certain designer's clothes.

How about the actress?

Yes - free clothes, payment and often commission too.

AliceOlive · 15/12/2023 18:54

And I suppose they would give clothes and maybe payment to H&M?

Myfabby · 15/12/2023 18:55

I think that poster might be referring to the actor who plays Kate Middleton in The Crown.

AliceOlive · 15/12/2023 18:54

Oh yeah. Kerching! Or not kerching, since they didn't get a deal with Dior or, AFAIK, anyone else.

In other words neither of you have a clue either way. More speculation and wishful thinking 🤔
Like tabloid central here at times

rosyglowcondition · 15/12/2023 19:20

@unbelieveable22 Nothing has 'backfired'. I'm just interested in Harry and meghans progress in their new life in America. I find it interesting to speculate that the Dior rumour started on Mumsnet though? Maybe you can provide evidence? Sorry i haven't had time to read your long post.

Speculation - yes - wishful thinking - no.

If Dior had signed them up as brand ambassadors I'm sure they'd have got the terms that everyone gets, which is free clothes and accessories, payment for their services, and probably commission for sales on items they promote.

They aren't tied to the RF's strict rules any more, so why wouldn't they be paid?

Seems like it's not just my long post you haven't had time to read on a thread you started. Otherwise you would realise the Mumsnet speculation and possible connection was posted by others. Perhaps ask them for evidence?

PS evidence is usually not a requirement on here. As I said in my long post many contributors post 'i think' 'what if' on a post and it is magically reposted on next thread as fact. Not all the time but often enough to be noticed.
There are lots of verifiable facts in my long post. HTH.

What the heck? Someone on here is suggesting that a post on here inspired a piece in a newspaper and then you have a poster jumping in as usual to acknowledge that then another poster says that's not what they meant - it's chaos and makes a much sense as the "racism with Oprah" statements/allegations/blah blah. Throw in a reference as well to something called Tattle Life which is berated when a few weeks ago some posters were crowing about the site Celebitch. It's all nuts.
