Fergie on This Morning

Anyone else watching Fergie co presenting This Morning today? She's being very careful with what she's saying, but seems good fun.

OP posts:
Roussette · 21/11/2023 10:11

I don't care about whether she is well liked or not, it's up to the RF who they want 'in the fold'. Good on them for being so understanding. 😂

I just prickle at assertions that she's never whinged, and never used her title to enrich herself . She's been doing it for the last 32 years! (Interviews, gigs on TV, over 70 books by 'Duchess of York', lives on a Royal Estate and uses it shamelessly to sell her Mills &Boon books, OW interview etc)

I agree she is resilient with a touch of being thick skinned in there!

Exactly this.

It clearly grates that she is well liked.

Well liked by who?
What is grating is that someone who is so outspoken in support of a man after he continued a friendship with a convicted child abuser, and was accused himself, and who frequently acted inappropriately in the short time she was in the firm we pay for, has been living in a royal estate decades after divorce and using that connection to make money, all the while a mixed race woman is harassed and criticised endlessly on here and elsewhere for doing far less. Thats Fergie's white privilege, she has to meet a far lower standard than Meghan.

I don't think its resilience so much as she needs the connection, and the funds. She's a mooch.

Roussette · 21/11/2023 10:12

Well said @Iwantcakeeveryday

RHOShitVille · 21/11/2023 10:16

She is a horrible human being. Apart from the fake sheikh deals, the support of Prince Andrew and the waiting in the wings till Prince Phillip died so she could move back in, she is (in person) a fairly hideous person, as is well known by people who have to deal with her.

derxa · 21/11/2023 10:23

as is well known by people who have to deal with her 😂Would that be you?

LBFseBrom · 21/11/2023 10:51

I don't know her personally but people who do tend to like her. Yes, she has made mistakes and holds her hands up to that but she is basically good-hearted, a loyal friend and fairly harmless. I wonder how many of us would stand up to public scrutiny, every faux pas from the past examined in the media. Fergie has stood up well. I couldn't cope with that, I'd become a recluse.

Let's live and let live and not be too judgemental.

MrsSkylerWhite · 21/11/2023 10:52

Good fun? Someone who supports a possible sex offender. Jesus.

LBFseBrom · 21/11/2023 10:58

I'm pretty sure Jesus was not a sex offender.

Fergie believes her ex husband and friend, Andrew, is innocent of what he has been accused.

We don't know, all we know is what has been in the media and, sure, we all trust that.

MrsDotCotton · 21/11/2023 11:01

It is a bit weird seeing her advocating sexy underwear in the light of Andrew's alleged behaviour. Where was hers?

RHOShitVille · 21/11/2023 11:05

People who work for and with her, definitely do not like her 😂

Nor is she kind hearted - certainly not to her staff.

she also supports him continuing his friendship with a convicted child sex offender after his conviction. That still ok with you?

We know a lot more than that.

His friend of decades (Maxwell) is serving a very long prison sentence for trafficking and more. His other friend Epstein ditto, and didn't give him up even when he'd been charged of sex offences.

He brought Maxwell, Epstein and Weinstein into the heart of the Royal Family (pics can be provided).

No, he hasn't faced a criminal case but he has paid off a trafficked girl many many millions.

There's plenty more I could talk about, but I won't bore you. (liaisons with arms dealers, gifts from dodgy individuals for his daughters, Kazaksthan, back handers, and more).

That Guardian article was funny. Jan Moir in the Mail describes her as looking like a mad mother elf Grin

From the Jan Moir article:

“Still, I felt grateful the late Queen went to her grave without witnessing her daughter-in-law appear on national television to urge Suzanne from Newcastle to invest in some fruity knickers to bring back the sexy in her marriages.

'Yah. Get a lovely saucy underwear set from your chest of drawers, blow dry the hair and take him out on a treat,' said the Duchess and for a moment I thought she was talking about a corgi, not Suzanne's unresponsive hubs.

Further advice included taking time off work and visiting lots of 'lovely, lovely restaurants and lovely hotels'. Clearly in Fergieland there is no cost of living crisis, work responsibilities nor childcare issues.

'There needs to be more treats,' she kept repeating. 'Treats. Treats. Treats.' She also revealed that another secret to a happy marriage was for a couple to leave little notes in each other's pockets. I do wonder how many times she reached into the pocket of her favourite trenchcoat and found one that read: 'Please Get Out Of My House.'

That last paragraph! Omg. 😂😂😂

Dillane · 21/11/2023 11:51

Maireas · 20/11/2023 16:53

It's done the trick, though - got people watching and talking about it.
I couldn't cope with an interview she did about her latest Mills and Boon book in which she referred to Prince Andrew as "the most honourable man I know".
All I can say is - 🙄

If he’s the ‘most honourable’ then I dread to think what the other men she knows are like.

StardustGiraffe · 21/11/2023 11:54

I thought it was a total cringefest. It changed the dynamic massively for the worst and Alison and Dermot spent the whole time sucking up to her. She seems like a nice enough person but she definitely didn't come across as a good presenter.

Roussette · 21/11/2023 12:20

I find it absolutely bizarre she got this gig. Let's hope it's not repeated.

What's next? "How to care for your Roses", with Autumn Phillips.
"Interior Design My Way" with Serena Armstrong Jones
Shock

Viviennemary · 21/11/2023 12:33

I downloaded it today and watched a bit of it to see how awful she was. . I didn't think she was any worse than anybody else. Couldn't stand Holly Willoughby or Philip Schofield. Alison is good though and not irritating.

kneehightoacat · 21/11/2023 12:42

Working mother?

Her kids are married with babies

🤣

kneehightoacat · 21/11/2023 12:48

Got to admire her balls though

No experience of presenting whatsoever but give live telly a go! 🙈

Of course she does. She was the recipient of all the ' loans' from Epstein after she pissed millions up the wall (again).

LBFseBrom · 21/11/2023 15:11

A great many people from all walks of life curried favour with Epstein and he encouraged it. I don't think we can hold a £15,000 'loan' against her and it was donkey's years ago.
