He’s there all day. I’ve seen footage and photos from all day. He works both behind the scenes and front of camera. I’ve heard from volunteers that are working there also. He’s proactive.

Oh wow well done Harry. Let's hope he can harness that positivity and motivation going forward. He really does have such potential for doing good if he can only just put the bitterness and resentment to bed once and for all.

South Korea’s bid for 2029

https://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/2023-09-11/national/diplomacy/Korea-launches-bid-to-host-Invictus-Games/1866502

And Instagram post:
2029 Invictus Games in South Korea!!!
The value of the Invictus Games is an indomitable spirit that will not be broken. It is linked to the history of Korea, a country that has risen from the ashes of war.
I explained this to the ministers of defence and veterans affairs of each country, and the response was good. Prince Harry, the founder of the Games, also reacted enthusiastically.
I think it's an international competition with great value for money.
Please support Korea's bid for Invictus 2029!

Korea launches bid to host Invictus Games in 2029

Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Park Min-shik met with Britain's Prince Harry at the Invictus Games held in Dusseldorf, Germany, on Sunday, as part of efforts to host the games in Korea in 2029.

Indoor rowing live at the moment

Iwantcakeeveryday · 12/09/2023 09:55

Yes, I am just putting it on! One of my kids is into rowing :)

Iwantcakeeveryday · 12/09/2023 10:27

That sounds really good @TallerSally

“Although we are in the very early stages of the project, it is already evident that the Invictus Games are so important to the competitors in their recovery journeys. We also know that a sizeable proportion of the UK population is fascinated by the Games and so we’ll be very keen to share what we learn through a series of public events, exhibitions and academic publications”.

MissElinorDashwood · 12/09/2023 10:37

@TallerSally Thank for posting.
Interesting

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/09/2023 10:43

Good to see that even the blasted Mail's done a piece with wall-to-wall smiles, considering the images they usually pick

Even allowing for editorial bias I've not seen Harry look like this in ages and it's lovely to witness

Perhaps this can put paid once and for all to the nonsense "Harry looks miserable/haunted/unhappy all the time"

He is grinning from ear to ear continually at all that I have looked at and he's in his element. Well done that man!

Dont worry, they've hired some rando to say he 'behaves differently' when Meghans not there. So the 'Poor helpless man being held captive by an evil woman' trope again

MissElinorDashwood · 12/09/2023 11:36

The Invictus Games Foundation is the governing body of the Invictus Games but our work extends far beyond the Games, as we support recovery year-round.

We were delighted to host the IGF Reception to discuss our work and recognise the people in our community, who give so much.

Meghan is on the move and the silly British tabloids (starting with the Daily Fail, who must have 20 sad journos as well as Chat GPT on call writing asinine pieces about her and Harry 24/7) are already starting to lose their sh*t.

Let's see what ridiculous nonsense they come up with over the next few days, it'll be as amusing as ever...

Iwantcakeeveryday · 12/09/2023 13:25

I would recommend avoiding the stupid press and their silly juvenile nonsense. The only time I would see it, is here. So much more positive news to discuss about them IMO at the moment.

Wheelchair Basketball Mixed Team Preliminarily Rounds are in full swing! Among the nations teams are also two teams called “Team Unconquered“.

If a nation cannot form its own team, nations can form a joint team with other nations to participate in the competitions

Iwantcakeeveryday · 12/09/2023 14:25

That's one of the coolest things about this games, the team unconquered, what a great idea whoever thought of it. Missing it at the moment, will try to switch it on again soon!

ALittleTeawithmilk · 12/09/2023 14:39

Proud young spectators

I’ve not had wifi (road worker cut the cable in my street) so I’ve just been watching bits’n pieces on my mobile phone. There’s been some beautiful pictures of the event posted on Twitter.

I did see Waleed Noori win the 100m track event. He was blinded when injured by an IED in 2008 or 2009.

The Veterans, those competing, those volunteering are just wonderful. I love Seeing the families and the kids all so happy. I’ve not seen such a joyous sporting event before:

MissElinorDashwood · 12/09/2023 15:03

Me too - heartwarming and positive.

MissElinorDashwood · 12/09/2023 15:08

Awww 💕

MissElinorDashwood · 12/09/2023 15:09

She said Yes! 💍

FlyingNorth · 12/09/2023 15:17

This is so good to see. I hope H does more of this - he's a natural at it and it really looks like it's doing him good. It's like leaving the RF temporarily bumped him off his career path, but he's back on it now. (None of this is a comment on Meghan, by the way - would be nice if they could do this stuff together but maybe that has to wait for a time when the anti-Meghan media are not quite so rabid.)

Angrycat2768 · 12/09/2023 16:18

Does anyone know the point of the 'thanks' button? Surely an agree button where you could agree with a poster publicly would make more sense?
Anyway. I agree with the above!

FlyingNorth · 12/09/2023 16:36

Cool, I've never been thanked before! (Mumsnet-thanked) @Angrycat2768 It's so that you can agree with someone anonymously.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 12/09/2023 16:45

@Angrycat2768 I think the concern is a public like button can create more divisiveness and disagreement.

Angrycat2768 · 12/09/2023 16:52

Oh OK fair enough!

queentim · 12/09/2023 19:30

That's great! So we can expect Invictus to go beyond 2029!

Who's hosting in 2027? Will it be in L.A?
