Recently spotted at a TSwift (allegedly), Barbie movie for her birthday, a restaurant, and then hanging out with friends in an Instagram selfie. She looks phenomenal in this photo!

Glad to see she's enjoying her life back home with her family.

I am very glad to hear you say that, and I look forward to seeing you do more of this "pushing back against this for Meghan" that I personally am yet to see.

I can definitely agree with you that we should try to see the humans behind all of this, and hope that, on that amicable note, we can let this rest.

Off to catch a flight now, and thank you for the civil engagement.

I will let you have what is certain to be a pithy last word😀

Not "out and about" per se, but some news from Archewell on their latest partnership supporting girls education and health in Nigeria:

"As students around the world returned to school this month, The Archewell Foundation supported girls’ education and health by sending school supplies and menstrual products to young scholars in Nigeria with The GEANCO Foundation,” a statement on their website said.

“GEANCO provides critical health care and education services in Nigeria. Its David Oyelowo Leadership Scholarship provides full tuition, medical care, and social and emotional support to young female victims of terrorism and gender inequality in Nigeria,” it continued."

Today’s posts made for some interesting reading today, thank you.

StormzyinaTCup · 27/09/2023 20:25

Good work and I'm all for that.

However, call me sceptical, but a quick google on GEANCO as I haven't heard of the company and I see that they have their red carpet Hollywood Gala this Friday night.

Timing of this announcement a coincidence? I'll reserve judgement until Friday/Saturday.

MissElinorDashwood · 27/09/2023 20:29

Oh, maybe we’ll see them out and about then?
🤷🏻‍♀️👌🏼

StormzyinaTCup · 27/09/2023 20:30

correction not heard of this Foundation

MissElinorDashwood · 27/09/2023 20:33

Looks like she’s continuing her fight/activism against period poverty. She was doing the same before she married Harry, right? In India I think.

I’m not surprised she’s working with GEANCO, then.

Well, you never know your luck and I have🤞for you.

I’m not surprised with her working with GEANCO, then.

As I said it's a good cause and I'm all for that, I'm just questioning the timing what with this Archewell announcement being the exact same week of the Foundation's Hollywood gala and her push to escalate her Hollywood status?

As I say it may be just one of those timing coincidences.

MissElinorDashwood · 27/09/2023 20:44

LOS ANGELES(BUSINESS WIRE)The GEANCO Foundation will hold its annual Hollywood Gala on Friday, September 29 at The 1 Hotel to raise funds for programs focused on vulnerable women and children in Nigeria.

Event proceeds will support the David Oyelowo Leadership Scholarship for Girls, which provides full tuition, housing, healthcare, and social care to young female victims of terrorism and gender inequality in Nigeria. This unique scholarship uplifts and empowers brilliant girls in volatile, challenging circumstances. Donations will also underwrite GEANCO’s November 2023 special surgical mission to Nigeria.

It would certainly make sense working with David. I imagine they are well acquainted.

Timing could also be down to the start of the school year….that’s how it was reported in several articles.

So flippin' what?
What does it matter?

These threads are getting ridiculous in scratching around for something to criticise her for

MissElinorDashwood · 27/09/2023 21:05

I think it’s great she’s working with David Oyelowo’s foundation. It makes sense.

No, it can't be. It's HOLLYWOOD TIMING.

To push Meghan's "Hollywood status". Which isn't needed if people are being honest.

😂

But on a more serious note:

Yes, the "timing" for an announcement such as this would make sense on two fronts: 1) September school starting as per the announcement, and 2) to draw attention to the fundraising gala...to raise awareness about the Foundation...to raise finds.

I hope they attend. Love to see what she would wear. Maybe something as pretty as the Invictus closing number, if it's not full gown attire.

Anything to bring attention to the issues of corruption, violence, modern slavery in Nigeria is a good thing.

StormzyinaTCup · 27/09/2023 21:14

So you aren't frustrated about the optics then @Roussette because someone in their team really hasn't thought this through and the couple leave themselves wide open for the sort of criticisms and questions that I'm asking.

But if you think it doesn't matter that's fine 🤷‍♀️

Its a good cause which I can certainly get behind and I have been supportive of one or two other Archewell projects but seriously I could do a better PR job and that's saying something!😁

It's all a bit hypothetical anyway, they of course may not turn up or even have been invited in which case it will be as I said originally just a coincidence and I would need to have a word with myself!

So WME are fleecing her for a ton of money unecessarily 😁

I think a better PR job is needed in our taxpayer funded RF if you want to go down that route!

Who cares about this sort of thing. I just don't get this petty criticism

As I have said the cause is a good one, however, I personally don't think they do anything that doesn't also benefit themselves so, I'm wondering if this is an example of that, it maybe or it maybe not. It really doesn't need any figuring out or over analysing (I'm just killing some time on MN while sitting in the car waiting for DD, who hopefully won't be much longer).

No one's questioning whether you found the cause good or not so you can put that aside.

However you are the one who is posing questions asking a poster if they weren't "frustrated by the optics", questioned the timing as a coincidence, and stated you could do better PR.

But you've only just now made made it clear you think it's because you think they have ulterior motives. So no further figuring out or over analysing is needed to understand your posts. But you've replied to a post, asked questions, and are getting responses.

Other posters disagree and are having a discussion around your comments, and think the release is just a common sense release, as they seem to announce activities on their Archewell site related to their work, at least monthly.

Nothing to do with Hollywood boosting, in the opinion of some posters.
