Is Harry Stealing Meghan’s Thunder?

This started when I saw the photo from the Ms Foundation awards, where Harry is looking directly into camera and Meghan is gazing at him (when there must have been loads of other photos the foundation could have chosen from) because without context you’d think HE was there to be recognised.

It really annoyed me because it’s literally called the “Ms” Foundation for WOMEN, he tagged along as a +1, SHE was there to get an award, SHE was there to give a speech (in which she didn’t even mention him), SHE looked amazing, yet he’s managed to make the whole thing about himself - about HIS vendettas with the press, HIS childhood, HIS security battles.

And even later in the taxi he was still fully focused on his own battle, recording the paparazzi back. (Meghan doing the much more sensible thing of looking dead ahead and trying to ignore them).

Nobody remembers why she was there or a single word from her speech. It’s just really annoyed me!!

She wouldn't have won the award if she wasn't married to him. No one knew who she was before they got together.

The topic is whether H is stealing M’s thunder! I think yes… regardless of what people might think of the award itself, he didn’t win it!

Harry and Meghan are at a point in their lives that they will look back on and see how truly wonderful it was.

Beautiful, healthy young children, a happy marriage, their own health and youth and lots and lots of money.

It will never be any better than it is now. And yet there is all this fighting and negativity.

I don't want to hear them discussed, I don't want to hear what they are unhappy about I just want them to appreciate all they have.

Why are you bothered? The new narrative on my comments is that I'm spamming. I'm not. I do wonder but don't dwell on it as to why there is constant nastiness and vindictive commentary on H&M. I don't understand why it bothers some so much. It's obsessive and to see 3 new threads in 12 hours seemed odd but seeing the replies here now it no longer does.

Odd behaviour? I'll leave that to those who go on nasty rants, use horrible language about people they don't know. I don't like the pile ons and the mob culture from some but neither will I take the bait. I dont like the subtle and not so subtle racism on this section at times. I certainly don't like white women (by their own admission) telling POC what is racist or is not. If it's ok with you I will keep popping in if I see fit as and when it suits. Need another ☕ now.

BTW this section is a great example to come to study human behaviour. Very enlightening 😂

She was there because she married Prince Harry. There’s really no more to it than that! Very few people had even heard of her beforehand.

What have you challenged exactly, other than observe there are multiple threads on members of the royal family in the royal family section?! Go and troll the Harry Potter section because by your standards Voldemort is living rent free in their heads.

Maybe she doesn't care? She was an actress and blogger, but she's kept remarkably silent and discreet since marrying Harry. They get slagged off a lot but it's all Harry yap yap yapping. Apart from her award acceptance she hasn't said a word in months, was barely even seen and not photographed or papped for months.

Maybe she's happy just being a mom and taking meetings behind the scenes, and occasionally releasing a new book or podcast or attending an important event but otherwise staying private.

I do think all these things are more him than her. I hope next time she just takes her mum to pick up an award. Doria is the perfect model of discretion!

Within 24 hours a man was arrested and charged with stalking after trying to break into their house where their children were, and they and Meghan's mom were chased and police had to make them go and seek refuge in a police station because the police felt they were in so much danger. They've had death threats, Neo Nazis being sentenced to time in prison for talking about how they need to die because miscegenation is a moral sin, a popular podcaster calling for their child to be murdered because biracial children are "an abomination", and drones flying into their garden. Not to mention constant hate and the British press being totally obsessed with them.

Most people wouldn't consider that wonderful.

I doubt we'd even have heard about the award if the couple hadn't highlighted the 'chase' afterwards, drawing crude parallels with Diana as usual.

But @BeatrixKidd even if you take M&H completely at their word about the events in NY he didn’t have to release a statement and start an international circus that evening he could’ve waited a week or even till the next day, and let the initial headlines be about Meghan’s speech and award

Exactly this. Without him she'd be an over the hill (by the standards of the entertainment industry) soap actress and little more. He's the only reason she was there.

I don’t think this is true anymore. She only became famous by marrying Harry but now she’s really the star. Gloria Steinem, Tyler Perry, etc - these are all HER friends. They didn’t hang out with Harry when he was a bachelor. Meghan is more engaging, smart… And there is a precedent for new princesses outshining their husbands! That is, unless their husbands use their night to fight a load of their own battles and create a circus 😬

The charge was changed to "prowling", and he didn't try to break in ... the citizens' arrest by staff happened outside of the property

As mentioned yesterday it's also being said locally (how truthfully I can't possibly know) that Kevin Valdovinos worked at the place and that the incident was a set-up. Doubtless the police will go into this, though whether we'll ever hear the outcome is anyone's guess; after all a "break in" makes a better story for those who prefer to leap on the immediate claims rather than wait to see what follows

I don’t think it’s Harry’s fault for this though it is indeed a shame that this overshadowed the event. I think that being in Montecito made them (the couple and their team) complacent.
