Is anyone else really sad about the coronation? Can't even afford to buy myself a birthday cake today but 250million spend on this after the jubilee and Queen's funeral in he last 2 years...

I feel the same heretoread81, it’s my dd’s 15th birthday today and it was a real struggle paying for her birthday presents (I am on carer’s allowance which is a bloody pittance). I just can not get enthusiastic about something which is costing us an absolute fortune and when the country and it’s services are in such a mess. Happy Birthday though, I hope you do manage to have some joy today.

I was ambivalent about it until I saw them in the gold coach. People are struggling to put food on the table and we're splurging millions the nation cannot afford on a one-hour ceremony. I'm sorry you're having a shit day, OP, I wish you a happy birthday though.

But doesn't the amount of revenue the coronation is bringing to the country make up for the cost?

it was my birthday last week and my children ran me a bath and left me alone for an hour so I could shrivel like a prune. It was the best gift they could give me. Hope you have some You time and feel loved, regardless of the scroungers in the gold coach xx

Times are hard for some people. I've just had to step away from a thread where a poster was saying very few are suffering from a CoL crisis and that anyone who is, is just vocal about it.

I enjoyed watching the coronation, interesting and historic. The armed services were amazing. The money spent was worthwhile, the fabulous coach was built in 1762 and has just been refurbished. The money spent would be spent in about 2 hours by the badly run, inefficient NHS
