The PR Whodunnit?

StormzyinaTCup · 22/04/2023 19:50

So what is this all about then?
Who did it and why?
And whoever's PR team is responsible needs tearing off a strip, it's going to backfire.
I know there was a thread about this earlier today but it was deleted due to questions over how genuine the OP was. As this story is everywhere at the moment I thought I would have a try myself and see how we go. Just a couple of preemptive points:

  1. My MN credentials are rock solid so don't anyone even go there😁
  2. Lets also keep some perspective, at the end of the day we are talking about a bunch of privileged and entitled millionaires who likely wouldn't even pee on us if we were on fire and that goes for both 'sides'.

🤞🤞🤞🤞

Meghan wrote to King Charles expressing concern about unconscious bias in the Royal Family - report

The letter was reportedly sent after the duchess said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that a senior royal had speculated about how dark her unborn son's skin would be.

Damn, I forgot the corgis!

jeffgoldblum · 24/04/2023 14:03

Although @polkadotdalmation , I disagree about Meghan doing this, this time ( I know, I'm fairly ambivalent about her!) .
I feel this seems more of a 'Harry' thing, particularly after the book and tv interviews, it just seems to me to be too convenient.

polkadotdalmation · 24/04/2023 14:03

@Maireas I love the historical part of this ceremony and was fascinated to learn the only thing remaining from the original 900 year old artefacts is the 12C anointing spoon and the rest are replicas as they were all destroyed in the 16C Presumably by Cromwell? We are so lucky in this country to have such a rich heritage

Is it a way then do you think to make his wife look good? My feeling about it not being Harry as why would he release private correspondence that was meghans? It wasn't addressed to him so would he even has access to her letters. Would he do this behind her back. Would he dare? Their strategy has always seemed mutually agreed although Meghan does what she wants without consulting him. Ref the Oprah revelation he came out and denied and the ridiculous curtesy.

@polkadotdalmation , 🤣 keep on being you!

You calling me an arsehole? Thanks for the compliment 😂😂😂😂

notanotheroneagain · 24/04/2023 08:07

Your own post justifies why it probably was not H&M. Because they had to live with these discredits from recollections may vary and posters like yourself and GBeebies for two years, so could have released the letter ages ago.

I think it’s important that the truth whatever it is does get revealed. Accusing others of racism is a very serious issue, and that also includes implying someone is racist even if not explicitly stated. If Meghan and Harry are now back tracking and saying that it wasn't malicious nor was it outright racism but unconscious bias, that is a very different remark to what Oprah suggested in the interview. Not sure why you're upset that this is being discussed? Harry has publicly back tracked on that racism claim so this is now par for the course for the Sussexes. Maybe they're trying to get back into the good graces of the king.

jeffgoldblum · 24/04/2023 14:11

I think he would @polkadotdalmation , after all he back tracked on certain allegations made by mostly Meghan, without any thought of how it would make her look , he never explained or helped at the beginning, apparently was ashamed of asking for help when she was struggling, all in all I'd say he was a crap husband.

jeffgoldblum · 24/04/2023 14:13

Ps of course I would never call you an asshole! 🤣🤣🤣😉

You seem to listen too much to Dan Wooton and the likes.

They like to blame the 'Sussex Squad' for everything. Camilla Tominey even said they threatened her, when the email she attached had nothing to do with the sussexes. It was the squad who reported it to the police, not Camilla.
Dan Wooton even created a post and pretended to be a Squad and was found out. Ditto Richard Eden - who has a female burner account.

Most of that Sussex Squad posts come on my timeline because most are liberals and follow the same topics as me. So I am quite up to date - not as much as MN from the looks of things.

The pegging story came out of a bg site that royalist follow religiously. I noted randoms ran with it. At the time it was not even mentioned on MN. Squad laughed the loudest of course, but they did not start it.

Who is dan wooton? You seem to know more about these people than I do, but I have seen with my own two eyes twitter posts from people claiming to be Sussex fans who tag other Sussex fans wishing death on the Cambridges. The squad as you call it may not have started the pegging rumour but quite a few were eager to spread it.

jeffgoldblum · 24/04/2023 14:15

Would say it about Harry though! 🤣

polkadotdalmation · 24/04/2023 14:18

Harry thought from experience, she would run a mile like the others had done so he didn't warn her for sure. But the whole thing was so rushed with her pushing to be announced as his gf so they were both not taking time to really know each other and the job. Harry is awful that clear now. Don't know how she puts up with him.

I thought it was quite nice that Charles reached out to her personally and wrote her a letter after the Oprah interview, shows that he still felt fatherly towards her.

michaelmacrae · 24/04/2023 14:23

I don't think either M, H or the RF leaked it. I reckon someone else did, for money.

I mean, why would Meghan do this? To encourage even more slagging off of her character? I highly doubt that! To keep her in the public eye? Really? Like she isn't already talked about everywhere, all the time, 24/7, with barely a peep out of her this year. Harry - I don't think so, for similar reasons. They also had to deal with her dad leaking her letter, so I don't think they would go there and do the same thing, plus with court cases against the press coming up, I highly doubt they are that stupid. It would be very illogical for them to do this.

michaelmacrae · 24/04/2023 14:25

Wow, you really have a whole storyline made up in your head about these two people, their personalities and motivations, don't you? How's that fan fiction coming along? You could make millions Grin

polkadotdalmation · 24/04/2023 14:26

@jeffgoldblum Yes Charles looks a kind man. If a little impatient at times. I think the fact he still loves harry despite the hatchet job speaks volumes. He looked delighted to walk Meghan down the aisle I suppose not having a daughter meant it wouldn't have happened otherwise. Sad all round.

polkadotdalmation · 24/04/2023 14:27

School kid. Pickup time. Love and leave xxx

Back to a nicer topic…there’s also the Coronation chair and the Cosmati pavement in front of Westminster Abbey’s high altar, on which it will be set - both extraordinary survivals from the 1200s.

I presume Edinburgh will also be lending the Stone of Scone to be placed in the Coronation Chair - it dates back even further, to the 500s, or so the legends go.

Very illogical indeed especially as Meghan has been barely seen for months. But, hey, the detractors need something, just anything, to feed their frenzy with!

michaelmacrae · 24/04/2023 14:34

Speaking of detractors I wonder if it's not somebody in the media or one of the royal rats that's dunnit? Harry's court cases are coming up very soon, and so this could be a sort of punishment, or a way of discrediting him and meghan beforehand. 🤔

people do like to pretend Suits wasn't popular.

I didn't realise Princess Anne had been married that long.

No one I knew heard of Meghan before she got with Harry. Not saying she didn't achieve some success as an actress but she was less famous than even the ex Disney teen stars like Vanessa Hudgens or the Pretty Little Liars cast.

These threads usually take a rather dark turn about now, when, having run out of things to say about the topic at hand at about page 10, some posters take to making things up about Meghan and then working themselves into a rage about the things they make up.

It's never nice to see, so here I make my exit.

Thanks for hosting @StormzyinaTCup and see you on the next (sober) thread.
