Prince Andrew writing a book

The Daily Mail, are reporting that Prince Andrew is in talks with a publishing company. If he is short of money I can see why he is doing this. Harry made megabucks from Spare. Don't think Charles will be too happy though. I suppose he has nothing to lose.

I can not imagine a more boring person to write a book than Andrew. He does not read any situation well and is so pompous and dull.

There is nothing he can say that will improve his reputation.

vera99 · 26/03/2023 23:09

I suspect these figures for rent are fairly nominal and part of some sort of clever accounting. But we will never know and there will no doubt be codicils in the will which we can never see but would have been the Queen's wishes that her children would be looked after by Charles once the inheritance tax dodge had taken place.

But it will be ghost written - Spare was done by a Pulitzer Prise winner who interviews the subject over many occasions and then knocked it out. Spare is still No 1 globally in the Amazon charts and will be a goldmine for any writer that wants the job.

Yes, but they captured the essence of Harry and he carried it off in interviews. Andrew is dull and there will be few to speak well of him. Can you imagine him on a talk show? He's digging his grave.

Inkanta · 27/03/2023 05:35

Could it be that Andrew is threatening to write a book because he's not getting his own way. For instance Charles no longer paying for his live in Yoga person.

I agree that a book by Andrew would be very boring and surfacy.

@Yesthatismychildsigh

"Poor little sausage" quote

Has a lot to answer for, just like Former MP John Prescott and his chipolata size one too,

Harry made megabucks from his book because he is popular and people worldwide want to hear what he has to say. I listened to Spare on Audible and really enjoyed it and came away with a totally different impression of Harry.

Nobody is going to give Andrew a multi million pound book deal. Even if I cared about what he had to say then I wouldn't want to put a penny in royalties into his grubby hands.

I can see it ending up in the range for £2.99 a few weks after it gets published.

This!

I agree. Even if Eddie is stumping up £90k a year to rattle round in his monstrous pile, it's still not a 'commercial rate' given Nottingham Cottage is estimated to be worth around £7k a month in a potential rent take:

Anyway. Looks like Eddie might be looking to cover his 'rent' and then some. Perhaps he's now got to cut his coat according to his cloth too.

Blimey just about £11,000 per month 😲

It's really grim inside

Viviennemary · 27/03/2023 12:52

I don't get how Frogmore cottage has been taken off Harry and Meghan when the Queen was meant to have given it to them as a wedding present. I'm sure I read that somewhere.

I think it may have been that she gave them the lease of the place as a gift rather than the property outright?

It's not an uncommon arrangement, and would be similar to Edward and Andrew's homes - though not Anne's I believe

It is isn't it?

A real 80's throwback.

What a chancer 🤑

It's owned by the Crown Estate but allocation (and associated 'commercial rent' shim sham) seems to be at the whim of the monarch.

Honestly I can never buy a royal book! Ever

Duckingella · 27/03/2023 22:49

Is it a new fairytale?

The princess and the nonce?

Yeah such an honourable man. Sarah also said this about him...

" 'It is so rare to meet people that are able to speak from their hearts with honesty and pure real truth, that remain steadfast and strong to their beliefs. Andrew is a true and real gentleman and is stoically steadfast to not only his duty but also his kindness and goodness of always seeing the best in people. I am deeply supportive and proud of this giant of a principled man, that dares to put his shoulder to the wind and stands firm with his sense of honour and truth. "

🤣😂🤣😅

Oh Roussette, that is priceless.

I'm off to look up what it means when you put your shoulder to the wind.

shockthemonkey · 29/03/2023 18:38

I just googled "shoulder to the wind" to see if it's a new thing and I got "how to get rid of trapped wind in the shoulder".

Roussette · 29/03/2023 18:44

@shockthemonkey
It's a corker isn't it!

Of course Sarah has to stick up for him. Without him and the royal payroll, she'd be broke no doubt!

TBF Fergs is one of very few royals that might actually have a story worth selling telling reading.

If he (and by extension she) is dumped out of Royal Lodge, hold the front page 💀
