The thread is about Catherine. Why is Meghan even being mentioned? Is it too hard for some posters to not try to get a dig in at every available opportunity?

I think Kate is great because she doesn't lie.

You know this how?
she has never given an interview, or written a book, so who knows.

Haven’t you just answered your own question? 😂😂😂

Even if true, which is unknowable it’s a low bar and is missing the silent rejoinder...

Its a very fine line to tread. Its almost going into political territory. Such a pity royals are so tied down by this inability to speak out into political areas.

That's handy

Exactly!

This with knobs on! FFS can't we discuss another member of the RF without continual barbs about H&M?

I'll answer my own question.

No. Some posters are incapable of that.

Burntpepper · 24/03/2023 20:50

Good for her, she's definitely in a position where she's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. If she didn't use her platform to gather influential people who can actually affect change together then people would claim she's lazy and scrounging; if she does something like this well she's not an expert how dare she.

Exactly.

And let's leave H&M out of it for once

Unless she's wearing it in some "aren't one down and dirty with the proles" vibe aka Shopping at Sainburies.

Is it though?

The thing with voicing contentious opinions - political or otherwise - is that sometimes they'll turn out to be wrong, and that means taking responsibility for them as well as enjoying the praise when things go the "right way"

So since the RF don't appear to be too keen on accepting responsibility for what they get wrong, perhaps they're better served by keeping it non controversial

Never stopped them trying though.

What is particularly sneaky is Charles black spider memos where he lobbies government ministers in some instances for pecuniary advantage over his private wealth such as the field of planning. It is a gross abuse of privilege and has never been addressed by government publically and condemned roundly as it no doubt should be. I'd hazard a guess that KP have had a go at whitewashing the Wikipedia entry to make it sound like he is an engaged monarch with his steady hand on the tiller of the ship of state.

Yep.

And let's not forget both he and the late Q get the chance to cast their eye over proposed legislation that might affect their interests and have in the past successfully lobbied to have it amended so it doesn't.
