I liked them.

I have a question about Catherine's two-piece. What was the white motif on the navy background, please? I can't make it out. It looks more than all things like a turtle to me, but my eyes might deceive me.

I liked all the beige and rose clothes of one of the choirs - all different combinations of styles and outfits within a certain spectrum of colours. Lovely.

Did anything catch your eye?

I think Kate might have looked daft in a white hat. Can’t imagine it.

I liked Sophie’s hat, although it was a bit reminiscent of a nurse in the 60s.

EdithWeston · 13/03/2023 19:06

Camilla id only just over a covid infection, so I'm not surprised if she looked a bit tired. Also it's only a few days since her DSis was bereaved of her husband of 50 years, so it's probably emotionally tough for her right now as well.

Schmutter · 13/03/2023 19:09

Poor old Camilla.

What a massive bore this must be for her. I bet she wanted to be ensconced in her country house having a lovely time in her dotage, not having to accompany Charles to all this nonsense.

onlylarkin · 13/03/2023 20:21

I think it is the floral print that I dislike about this. The suit construction needed to stand alone and stand out. She looks beautiful and William looked nice.

Do you think Camilla left early because she is still feeling the after affects of Covid? My husband had it a couple of weeks ago and he is still feeling run down.

were the mens suits nice?

They were O.K. Some of the clergy had spiffing green and gold robes, cut perfectly so that the pattern went down the centre back.

The white details are flowers.

Thank you.

I don’t like Kate’s suit. It looks like a Per Una wedding special. I haven’t seen the others.

Inclined to agree. She did try to step it up a bit recently but now gone back to her mother of the bride best.

No waist - are you blind ?! She looks fantastic. The ‘dated’ earrings were Diana’s - sapphires don’t date

She looks stunning, like the heroine in a Miss Marple novel, love it.

I was thinking this. She in her 70s. Covid can really wipe you out.

Her BIL and sister are very close to her (and Charles) - they even spent some time at Balmoral with them when Camilla and Charles went there after their wedding - so it’s a big loss for her.

mathanxiety · 14/03/2023 00:19

I liked the blue hat with the navy dress.

I can't stand peplums though.

Witchone · 14/03/2023 05:14

Kate looks great. Sophie’s hat could be Jacqueline Kennedy’s. My mother used to wear a pillbox hat just like it. I like them.

She must have expected it when she married Charles.

I’m always interested by other people’s takes on fashion, because describing this look as safe and mumsy when it’s pure 2020s Erdem does 1950 Dior silhouettes with a side of its 1980-remix - this is a classic vintage silhouette, beautifully executed, with some fabulous modern details like the overstitched darts and contrast lining. I think it’s a fabulous look - a throwback to some classic moments in fashion history, but bang up to date too. Can’t say I see many Mums out and about looking like this!

@Serenster it may have all the credentials, but to me it looks dated rather than elegant. Not grumpy or mums, just dated. It’s not my taste and, I think, if it was on anyone else, it wouldn’t be admired apart from the cut, the design etc.

LadyWithLapdog · 14/03/2023 08:25

*frumpy or mumsy

Roussette · 14/03/2023 08:26

I love a peplum. When I got married thirty something years ago, it was height of fashion. I still have my 'going away' outfit in a wardrobe, it's beautiful, shocking pink, with a big peplum, wide belt same colour, and hat similar to what Kate wore.
Sigh...

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 14/03/2023 09:09

I hate peplums and would never wear one but I think that the PoW looks fantastic in it. I actually think slim people look better in them, it gives them more of a waist whereas those of us short arses with curves just look frumpy.

bloodyplanes · 14/03/2023 09:13

I loved kates outfit! I thought the D of E suit looked far to big.

bloodyplanes · 14/03/2023 09:17

Also I think Sophie normally looks lovely, but she looks really frumpy in that outfit.

me too (and big shoulders)

Mistymoonsinastarrysky · 14/03/2023 09:56

I loved Kate’s suit, I think she’d look amazing in pencil skirts with a peplum jacket à la Dior in the 50’s.

MarshaMelrose · 14/03/2023 10:20

I don't like peplums and when I read she was wearing one, I inwardly sighed. When I saw her, though, she looked fabulous. So glamorous. I really don't like her style normally but I thought she looked great.

upinaballoon · 14/03/2023 10:43

I agree that Sophie's hat made me think 'pillbox Jackie Kennedy' and Kate's hat reminded me of a shape of hat my Mum wore a long time ago. I was trying to see if the skirt was made in panels all curving out to go with the peplum but I can't tell.
I thought Camilla could have worn darkish blue stockings rather than black. However does any woman get sheer tights or stockings on without getting snags in them? Sorry, mustn't be sexist. How do any men or women get sheer tights or stockings etc., etc., etc..................
