I liked them.

I have a question about Catherine's two-piece. What was the white motif on the navy background, please? I can't make it out. It looks more than all things like a turtle to me, but my eyes might deceive me.

I liked all the beige and rose clothes of one of the choirs - all different combinations of styles and outfits within a certain spectrum of colours. Lovely.

Did anything catch your eye?

I wish Kate's skirt had either been fuller, a la Dior New Look, or slimmer, like the copper-coloured pencil skirt Serenster posted above ...

MarshaMelrose · 14/03/2023 15:20

I thought the skirt width was perfect. Not too wide so it could blow up and expose too much. But wide enough that it could kick up and expose the lining. And I loved her hat rather than the usual bands and fascinators she wears which don't do anything for her at all.

HedwigIsMyDemon · 14/03/2023 15:32

@vera99 the yellow was my favourite bit 😂

ThePoshUns · 14/03/2023 22:53

Kate looked great but there was a lot going on with the outfit. I liked Sophie's hat but not with that coat. Geri Halliwell looked pretty dull. Her insistence on wearing white all
rhe time is rather boring and she looked washed out.

LadyVictoriaSponge · 14/03/2023 23:35

I don’t get Geri wearing white all the time, it does nothing for her at all whatever she wears.

Hottytotty · 15/03/2023 00:20

Why was Geri there? Confused

She does something with the Commonwealth society. Some sort of ambassador role.

I’m always interested by other people’s takes on fashion, because describing this look as safe and mumsy when it’s pure 2020s Erdem does 1950 Dior silhouettes with a side of its 1980-remix

Which I get but for some reason K generally makes outfits look a bit mumsy to me, I'm not sure why, maybe the styling. She's my age but is normally styled how my mum would do things.

Maireas · 15/03/2023 21:11

People keep using "mumsy" on here.
What a shame being a mum has such negative style connotations.
Does William look dadsy?.

mathanxiety · 15/03/2023 22:04

Yes, he looks dadsy.

It's a word that should be used more. But there is 'dad jeans', 'dad jokes'...

Maybe a new term could be put into circulation that doesn't throw shade on dads. I agree that mumsy isn't great.

cymylog · 16/03/2023 09:00

I think she looks good which isn't hard as she has a figure that is easy to dress well.

However I suspect its the fabric choice making people say mumsy - as it is the sort of thing my own mother - now in her 70s- would have picked from 40 onwards. I do think she carries it off but I can see where some posters are coming from.

were the mens suits nice?

Better than unsuitable(! ) uniforms.

i get what you are saying, but this is a mainly female forum, so women like discussing cloths. FWIW, my DH often comments on the suits , especially if they are tweed.

I see Kate is on the bring back the 90s trend with a turquoise coat. I remember having one, might actually have been late 80s. (It said something about matching the regiment, though I don’t see any soldiers In turquoise.) It’s thumbs up from me for the memories.
