There seems to be a lot of confusion and misinformation on here regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, so I thought I'd pass on this rundown of the issues that have caused them to lose so much goodwill and support:

January 8, 2020: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle declared they would be Half In & Half Out, retaining public service positions while assertively brokering private wealth.

It was only at this point that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex changed their narrative, using the Oprah interview to claim that their resignation as working royals was due to press intrusion, racism within the institution and the racism of the UK press.

Just as previous claims of BRF racial discrimination were debunked by Harry himself, these "misleading" 'racist' British Press headlines were removed from the Oprah interview upon legal challenge. This narrative likely necessitated fabrication since two isolated separate incidents in six years are two isolated separate incidents in six years, worthy of calling out individually but not logically forming a pattern, so "manipulated" doctoring stepped in to form this false narrative which has been debunked due to legal challenge and should be accurately reported:

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their highly aggressive PR team are not accurate sources. TL:DR
They have altered their narrative several times, presumably to suit their commercial and branding ambitions at the time. Anyone can cherry-pick headlines to produce a seeming story or pattern - this is what PR is all about - but the repeated U-turns and contradictions in their claims have lost them a lot of good faith public support.

I think these boards who want to write about the RF , both positively, negatively and neutrally. You and I have sparred many times. Have I ever said to you that you shouldn't engage on the boards because you have negative opinions? No, I have not. I have taken insulting epithets from you and said nothing.
My argument with Quveas is not what their opinion of the RF is but that they come on the Royal Family board and say people should stop writing on the thread because we should be talking about public services and poverty. But clearly they're not talking about those subjects... because they're posting on the RF boards. That's hypocritical. And it belies their assertion that the RF are not worth writing about because they actually keep writing about them.
You, too, dislike the RF but I don't recall you saying writing about them is a waste of time and none of the other posters should do it. If you ever do say that but keep writing about them, I'll call you a hypocrite too.

I believe that's quite a variation from what I said. I really don't have time to write multiple lengthy posts on matters of no import, but what I said was that the OP was being entirely patronising with their "here is summary of the lies for the confused" as if (a) anyone who doesn't think they are lies is just confused and (b) they're haven't been bloody thousands of these threads already.

The amount of energy being devoted to these deranged and vitriolic attacks on an ongoing basis is out of all proportion with the relevance or value of the individuals (all of them, including the monarch) on a real life basis. But dare to have a different opinion and the comeback is always "oh you must be a H&M supporter".

The Royal family don't care about you or anything other than protecting their own elitist position. And as for H&M - perhaps you all should take your own advice, becuse it is the deranged attacks of people who actually know nothing about any of them that is keeping them in the news, feeding a media frenzy being lapped up by the great unwashed, and which made the book you all profess to be lies the best seller it is. If you want them to fade into obscurity then the only strategy is the opposite of the shite being trotted out here - ignore them and talking about something more relevant. Crochet, perhaps.

From the horses mouth, you mean like Harry's interview with Tom Brady saying the royals aren't racist and that it could be just conscious bias? Like their engagement interview saying he proposed over a chicken dinner and then on their documentary it changed to a midnight picnic! Even in the Oprah interview which was taken of air after 30 days and changed when in the UK over some of the false accounts made by meghan that was proven and Oprah was threaten with legal action! I guess all those ex employees ( and there's lots of them) are all liars with their bullying allegations against meghan! So what is it? Are the only people telling the truth Meghan and Harry and everyone else are the liars even though many of Harry and Meghans claims have been debunked not just by tabloids but by real people! Even Harry's taliban kills have been called out as a lie as well by the army person in charge of Harrys regiment. Meghan was also caught lying to the courts and made a grovelling apology! So if she is okay lying to a judge she wouldn't care about lying to get public favour!

Imagine being an ordinary citizen being interested in politics and society, in the machinations of people who wield a behind the scenes (sometimes) and a right in your face (very often) political influence and whose lives and influence will be written up in the history books; whose words and actions have a wide ranging influence - from discussions about First Amendment rights in the internet age, the branding of an entire nation as racist, the future of a constitutional monarchy, the use of charity to influence politics, the use of charity to hide money and tax breaks, the use of the edifice of victimhood to shut down free speech (a huge problem in modern society), the hypocrisy of the do as I say not do as I do influencer….the list could go on and on. Now imagine being so devoid of critical thinking to think that none of that has any effect on your life or that of generations to come because you will never meet them. So you think, nah, I’ll stop taking note, I’ll stop discussing something that (rightly) is making my antenna tingle. I’ll go and do something that some stranger on the internet has decided is a more useful use of my time because of my station in life. Imagine.

Imagine, too, that the people in question have the support and resources to push misinformation into the mainstream about the institution that surrounds our Head of State and his family, including branding the next Head of State a wife-beating philanderer.

Imagine those people then making high-profile visits to countries that are being courted by Russia and China.

Why would anyone not be interested. Especially when they regularly get it soooo wrong so entertainingly.
