Either before or after William appeared on the scene? Mn is very disparaging about the Middleton's so following on from the has anyone met Meghan thread... Has anyone met the Middleton's or Kate?

Do any irish mumsnetters know how many points Vogue got in the leaving, and does she have honours Irish? If Carol forgets the soap powder Vogue probably has some available!
It is quite a difference between Kate having a reliable family and Meghan only having her mother. For whatever reasons.

Cherryana · 11/01/2023 22:22

So I used to know them about 35 years ago. I was really confused why Kate wasn’t coming to my primary school (now I know)! James was a toddler. I remember vividly really liking Carole Middleton as she spoke to me properly and not like a child.

Kateforqueen · 11/01/2023 22:28

@Abra1t Private education in Ireland isn't really a thing. They have Irish language schools like Welsh schools which are quite mc but the state schools are good. (well according to my Irish colleague).
@mathanxiety correct me if I'm off the mark!

piedbeauty · 11/01/2023 22:32

All in all, [Kate] looked well turned out, attractive but still like most other school mums at my DC's school.

😂😂😂

Truthlikeness · 11/01/2023 22:32

I met Kate briefly through work. She was polite, friendly, professional and had done her homework. Very slender, tall (might have been the heels), smiley and wore a lot of mascara. I know someone who was at St Andrews with Kate and William and never had anything scandalous to say about them.

@Itsmetoddkraines no hats off to Carol & Michael. Carole changed careers becoming an entrepreneur, ran a very successful business (which is still operating) & was a hands on mum. She is now a very hands on grandmother, looks fantastic, fit & healthy. That is admirable.

Carol has joined the chat

@Bargoed

That's very much where I would peg them.

Michael seems absolutely amazing and I have nothing but huge respect for carol and party piece's 😂.

What a journey and story for carol!

Where do reckon William would peg them🤔🤔

@Kateforqueen

That's a very good point re vogue and Spencer.
I wonder if their DC play together.

I'm sure they were in St Barts together at some point! Off to Google!

Just to clarify Santa Sabina where Vogue went to Secondary school is not a private or fee paying school. It's an all girls Catholic school like St Louis High School in Rathmines where my two daughters went. They seem to ask for a 'voluntary donation' much like St. Louis's do though if that's what ye mean by fees! Which would be a couple of hundred Euro a year compared to thousands a year in private school!

A huge amount of Irish schools ask for voluntary contributions, its not unusual and doesn't make them posh schools at all!

I forgot Pippa didn't invite Vogue to her wedding.. Rememer Pippa's "no ring no bring" rule!
However Harry was allowed bring Meghan without the ring but the grooms brother couldn't bring his girlfriend who he goes onto marry & have 3 kids with..
Bet Pippa regrets that move now after all the upset caused..

JoyPeaceHealth · 11/01/2023 22:49

@Hollyhobbi oh I stand corrected! I've met a few x SS girls and they had private school energy 😆

confusedcentral5 · 11/01/2023 22:51

Party pieces can't have been a huge money making business.

Ozgirl75 · 11/01/2023 22:53

My parents have met Pippa’s husband’s family a few times and said they’re lovely. They met Spencer when he was quite young, about 10 or 11 and said he was just a charming, outgoing friendly boy. They said the parents were friendly and down to earth and Pippa’s husband was really pleasant and more handsome than he looks in photos! (This was a few years ago I guess he would have been mid 20s then).

Auntiekrisitsme · 11/01/2023 22:54

@JoyPeaceHealth what’s private school energy?

Velvetween · 11/01/2023 22:54

If queues are long I always find a supervisor and ask for another till to be opened. Then when the cashier is coming to the till I go and stand at it even if I was last in the queue. If other people want to stand in a queue for ages and not think about getting an extra one open that’s fine but don’t ever try and get in front of me when I have.

I expect having confidence and thick skin has a lot to do with this - being able to speak up and go after what you want/need. And given some of the nasty stuff hurled at Carole Middleton on this thread, little wonder she’s got thick skin.

Many people make a judgement on famous people based on a tiny interaction “she’s up herself”…”he’s rude”. When they are just going about their daily biz with god knows what going on in the background.

Carol is still very senior cabin crew - Kate is nice, private not clever but not dim either, the children are everything.
William is dull a bit entitled but in a polite way - not as opinionated as Charles - mid level Bank manager material in real life.

I'm no fan but Kate is very bright - she got top grades in her exams. She's smarter than William.

oakleaffy · 11/01/2023 23:00

Dadadaa · 10/01/2023 23:31

I've met Pippa. I handmade her something actually and then she never paid me. It wasn't a huge amount so not worth chasing, and I probably got more from publicity than she owed me, but it annoyed me because she said she'd pay and she didn't.

That's pretty bad thing to have done on her behalf. Bad Pippa!

Anon778833 · 11/01/2023 23:01

Kateforqueen · 11/01/2023 09:30

I think the consensus was that they both mixed in aristocratic circles.. But Pippa's set was the country set that used to go shooting & have huge parties at stately homes most weekend

Um no. Kate had to learn to shoot after she married William.

Facecream · 11/01/2023 23:01

Does anyone know if Kate has ever got a bit tipsy or pissed herself laughing or dropped spaghetti on her old fashioned outfits? No.. didn’t think so.. sigh.

They are a “thing” (in Dublin - with some boarding schools elsewhere in the country) but v v different to London / UK in terms of fees - much much lower. And lots of very wealthy people (of the type that would almost automatically go private in the UK) send their kids to non-fee paying to local faith or gaelscoíls. There isn’t the same divide between behaviour / attainment between state and private in Ireland.

Anon778833 · 11/01/2023 23:06

Kate and Pippa come from the same family. @Kateforqueen I can't figure out if your posts are satirical.

Branster · 11/01/2023 23:10

Genevieva · 11/01/2023 20:35

@Branster I honestly think that her hair is just naturally thick and glossy. My mother's hair was identical. She is mid 70s now and still naturally only a little grey. Also her hair styles were pretty similar to some of Kate's when I was growing up - the curls done with Carmen rollers.

It probably is the case, blessed with special hair!
I only know 1 woman with naturally perfect hair like this. She cut it short a few years ago and although the tumbling effect disappeared, it looked superb on her because she has an incredibly beautiful perfect striking face. I know her since we were 5 years old and it is definitely her untouched hair. She is though , a very rare specimen of natural perfection in the looks department.
Otherwise, I know only a dozen women in real life with really beautiful everyday hair but only because of using expensive hairdressers. Otherwise they have just lovely hair.
As an example, the Real Housewives series and all the spin-offs, with ladies who have access (presumably) to top hair care products, stylists and hairdressers: very, very few actually have truly beautiful hair, natural or enhanced. It's a blessing or an art.
Lots of women I know have lovely hair, but truly beautiful and natural, very rare.
