Now they have responded, has Harry just stirred another hornets nest with Afghan?

I cannot believe it but I think the Taliban actually have a point. If the view of ISAF was that Afghans were simply 'chess pieces' no wonder they fought back to win.

TinyChancer · 06/01/2023 17:07

I suspect H&M didn't check the final, ghost written, version.
Harry's already shown himself to be very dim, and I think that may extend to not checking his book before publication.

He’s such an a-hole.

norevelationhere "I can almost guarantee that the MH stats would be much healthier if you could all speak openly about what you have done."

I think this sums up the ethos of the age. People think the more freely you talk, the better things will be. As someone who has bern treated for mental health issues for 20+ years as an adult - no treatment in childhood but had issues - I think it does a lot of damage to speak out.

I recently worked with a man who keeps his army background quiet, because the first jobs he had after leaving, people asked him about it and clearly disliked working with someone who had killed others.

but I digress....there is no benefit to anyone in what he said, and an immense amount of trouble.

Yes. Sad isn't it? She had so much going for her, it could have worked out but now...omg.

Plexie · 06/01/2023 17:12

But if Harry doesn't attend the Coronation and a terrorist attack wipes out the Royal Family, that means Harry will be next in line to inherit the throne! 😧

Forfrigz · 06/01/2023 17:15

Don't worry everyone, the people he killed were brown but not the rich sort of brown, the poor soldier sort. It isn't racist that way.

LadyVictoriaSponge · 06/01/2023 17:15

Hopefully the Taliban are intelligent enough not to give Harry his ultimate goal of being King!

Pansypotter123 · 06/01/2023 17:16

If he thinks of the Taliban soldiers he killed as pieces on a chess board, I what he (and the rest of the RF) thinks of us, his father's subjects!

I’m not suggesting the whole of the armed forces write books about how many people they have killed! Speaking openly could be to friends, family, therapists… obviously not to anyone and everyone. My point was that experiencing the traumas of an army tour and then being expected to come home and act as though none of it ever happened causes issues for many.

smileladiesplease · 06/01/2023 17:18

Talking trauma through is not healthy for everyone. Sometimes putting things in a pocket and not examining them is best for some people. It is for me. All this counselling and examining every awful detail can be very unhealthy. It's a common now days myth that we all need to talk. Some don't.

Agreed “least said soonest mended” is good for some people.

But what has that got to with Harry's comments?

rumship · 06/01/2023 17:21

@norevelationhere Don't worry in Harry`s own words, the were "Rag heads". I'm pretty sure Harry did not face the same as many of our true soldiers that put their lives on the line for country. Our forces also don't go printing their kill score globally to sell their shit book for cash.

He has given the taliban a figure head to focus on now, so if there is one single death as reprisal now its soley down to H&M`s PR stunt.

Ryder68 · 06/01/2023 17:23

it's not only the Taliban who will be after him but random brainwashed idiots too.

Yup 🙄

TheVanguardSix · 06/01/2023 17:23

There’s a reason, after decades of research, the best clinicians in the world promote movement as a response to trauma. Better than talking, movement, like dance, swimming, qi gong, a walk in the park, does wonders for everyone. And everyone knows trauma.

Though Hazza’s loose lips are moving in ways that want stopping. Someone needs to sedate him and wire his jaw shut!

That’s fair enough. I didn’t mean to suggest that everyone should talk about their trauma. What I object to is the implication that people shouldn’t when some may need to. All the comments saying it’s not the done thing and that there are unwritten rules that you don’t talk about killing when everyone is fully aware that that’s what happens. Those that need to talk should be able to do so (though possibly not in a book that will be widely quoted in the tabloids…).

The conversation got a little sidetracked…

Goodread1 · 06/01/2023 17:34

It's deliberate Harry spoke out about Taliban as Harry and Megs both know that security for them will enhanced level as possible can,
Courtesy of uk 🇬🇧 tax payers mugs. as us,

He, they both know by being so candid like this, would be like , throwing a hand grenade as this 💣 would create conducive environment/drama to ensure achieve that goal some way,

Harr knows rather sooner he will have heightened the balance in their favour the possibilities of maximise the possibility of Red alert security.

The issues is Harry and his family will be OK in regard of security

It's the British Army and maybe even some random British individuals, he potentially could have put as security risk in some way

Harry is thick as brick outer house olde worlde latrine wc toilet

Overtone · 06/01/2023 17:37

I was discussing this on another thread before finding this one. I hadn't seen that the Taliban have responded but I'm not surprised.

It was such a provocative, unprofessional and selfish thing to do, and comes across somewhat as willy-waving about how many people he killed.

Villagetoraiseachild · 06/01/2023 17:41

Agree Overtone, provocative and crass.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 06/01/2023 15:17

From a terrorists pov, the 'kudos' of blowing half of the royal family to kingdom come during the coronation would be immense.....I agree H is now a considerable national security risk and needs to keep well away

He's just made the job of the police and the security forces at the coronation a hundred times harder, but hey, he gets to play the gungho hero. Stupid twat; with emphasis on stupid.

The risk was already there with the various heads of state in attendance many of whom have their own terrorist, war or civil war issues. I don’t think Harry’s comment would make much difference to what would already be very tight security arrangements.

Choconut · 06/01/2023 17:45

Perhaps he just thought everyone would think he was a big hero for killing 25 'baddies' and literally didn't think beyond that. I mean he doesn't seem too bright.

Shelefttheweb · 06/01/2023 17:47

Well that would be a completely idiotic thing to do -put his family, including children, at risk in the hope that he may get extra paid security to hopefully intercept an attacker.

Daffodilsandtuplips · 06/01/2023 17:52

Falalalalalalaetc · 06/01/2023 14:00

Yes he has and in my opinion he now poses a security risk to the UK and should not be given the option of attending the coronation. It would be safer for the Uk population if he stays away and safer for him and Meghan (and their kids) too not to be out and about at such a public event.

Given their thirst for publicity above security I am sure they'll want to come but I think he needs to face the consequences of his actions.

King Charles needs to prioritise national security during his Coronation. He has a duty to the country now he's King above Harry - who has brought this on himself and is an adult man.

This is now a foreign relations incident. What a twat Harry is. I'm so angry.

The UK is broken, many crimes aren't investigated at all, people are dying for want of timely medical care. Strikes everywhere. Our country does not need someone who's deliberately made themselves a target in this way to parade around. We can't afford the security it will cost.

I also think the way he described the Afghans he killed was pretty racist for someone who's constantly going on about racism in the royal family.

Absolutely this. He’s painted a massive target on the backs of himself, his wife and his children, King Charles and all major Royals. The Coronation is going to be a major public event with World Wide dignitaries in attendance, vast numbers of spectators lining the route. The worlds focus will be on London, he’s given our security forces a major headache.

Before these latest revelations his claims were mildly amusing, well to me anyway, but this…well.
He needs to shut up now.
