Is a piece of shit. I refuse to link to his article in which he explicitly says he hates her and can't wait for the day he can physically assault her.

Can the Kate sycophants tell me again how this all happened to her and is totally normal and acceptable?

Please ignore those who seek to derail this thread.
The focus should be on the vile article written by an odious man and his obvious lack of remorse for writing an article which I still can’t believe got past the editor .

Exactly.

As I said on another thread...

"I shall be more careful in future" = I will work much harder at hiding my hate and mysogony in future.

Why in God's name William can issue such a robust defence of football players saying 'it's totally unacceptable' and 'I am sickened' and 'abhorrent behaviour, it must stop now' etc etc. Yet... nothing for this very long vile article. He could say something, even if he didn't refer to Meghan by name, it could be in general terms about hate speech.

That's what jumps out at me.

I'm not surprised Jeremy Clarkson wrote a vile rant about a mixed race woman.

It sadly still surprises me that this article was read by countless other people and nobody thought to say that it was unacceptable and a bad idea.

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 20/12/2022 07:10

Well if the royals don't speak out their silence will speak volumes.

On TV saying Camilla is patron of abused woman charity etc.

Yes to William condemning Lady Hussy. Let's see if he can speak out about this

Lampzade · 20/12/2022 07:11

I have just read another article written about Meghan Markle by Jeremy Clarkson
In it he accused Meghan of fake crying at the
Queen’s funeral and basically claimed it was her p—ssy that had trapped Harry.
The article was dated September 2022 and is in The Sun.

Please read it and then come back and tell me that his latest article was ‘satire’

Camilla went to luncheon which he attended….

IClaudine · 20/12/2022 07:11

The continued silence from the Palace is so very telling, isn't it? I would have thought the reaction from the public would have elicited some kind of statement. But I guess the scum media has to be kept on side.

Eh, it’s The Sun – hate and hyperbole and whipping up a frenzy is their bread and butter. Sub-editors may well have baulked but they have no power (I was one for years and you get overruled a lot: a sub vs. Jeremy Clarkson has no chance!); the editor will have seen exactly what the piece was doing, and allowed it. The 12,000 IPSO complaints probably haven’t come from regular Sun readers but those that have have heard of the article through wider publicity. I complained about it and I would never read The Sun.

I do think it’s interesting that Clarkson and the editor incorrectly judged the mood of the nation, though: picking up on all the social media hate and the reaction to the documentary and thinking that they could get away with this.

Why would the Palace respond to an article about someone who no longer wants to be part of the family and who has made umpteen untrue or exaggerated accusations ?
Not defending JC but it’s nothing to do with BP .

Well, the Palace is her father-in-law and stepmother-in-law; regardless of whether Meghan wants to be part of the institution – and she originally wanted to be half-in – she’s part of the family and as the Duchess of Sussex and wife of sixth (?) in line to the throne, she’s still royalty.

Plus also: basic fucking human decency for the Palace to denounce this.

BethJ62 · 20/12/2022 08:57

@pelargoniums all over MN we have families who are no contact for some reason or other . Do we expect them to defend people who have wronged us ?

Of course it's to do with them. Harry is son of the Monarch and his wife has been abused with hate speech in the British press. He has never said 'I don't want to be part of this family'. He has just chosen to live elsewhere to protect his family. He has criticised the Institution and the Press. I think you're looking a little silly saying that what they've said is exaggerated, given the JC article. Obviously quite true what they've had to contend with. With little back up from the Palace.

William was all too quick to defend footballers. Hmm

Exactly in a nutshell !

pelargoniums · 20/12/2022 09:05

@BethJ62 As far as any of us know, H&M aren’t no contact with the royal family – a couple of months ago they were doing the walkabout together, they attended the Queen’s funeral, Charles mentioned them in his speech, etc.

There’s also a difference between random anonymous Mumsnetters and a woman who’s the target of media hatred precisely because of her association with the royals. But if a MNer started a thread saying “I’m NC with my famous daughter who’s the target of online abuse that’s received a record number of complaints; I’m in a huge position of power and influence – should I say something?” yes I’d advise they speak up.

IClaudine · 20/12/2022 10:40

It a bit like the Diana debacle. The Palace are very bad at reading the public mood.

From what I can gather the public are disgusted with JC but don’t see why the palace should say anything given that Harry and Meghan have made it very clear they want nothing to do with them .

I’ve been to loads of social situations where there have been people I’d rather not mix with because they’re awful people and I’ve managed to avoid them. They’ve also managed to avoid me because they knew if they had come near me I’d have ignored them. Perhaps it’s the same for Camilla.

clyspa · 20/12/2022 11:50

Some posters can't seem to decide what they are most upset about or actually really attacking - the article, the lunch or actually the monarchy Hmm

It's amazing what the royal family (or in this case the PoW) are liable for, now it's Jeremy Clarkson it appears

I find it odd that this makes everything Harry stated to be fact with no further questions needed to be asked. Do you really think in one dimension like this all the time?

For the record his article is abhorrent but I can find it so while concurrently still feeling Harry leaving is all about the money and attention and noting Jeremy has managed to raise a daughter who doesn't kowtow to him.....all things can equally be possible

With respect you are not Queen Consort.
@Roussette and others have pointed out that Camilla and KP would have definitely been given a list of attendees for a number of reasons . One reason would to prevent embarrassing situations
Given that both Piers Morgan and Jeremy Clarkson have viciously attacked her step son’s wife , one cannot help but come to the conclusion that she doesn’t have an issue with what they write. She appreciates the support from those two imbeciles.

Loudhousefun · 20/12/2022 11:56

The fact that the royals haven’t commented on this is definitely not doing them any favours. It is now glaringly obvious they have been extremely unfair and in their treatment of both Meghan and Harry.

No one has said or even suggested that everything Harry said is fact.
Harry and Meghan’s main issue was not only the harassment by the press but the lack of support from KP and the Royal Family. Furthermore, they claimed that some in the royal household were in cahoots with the right wing press to discredit them
The evidence from the past few days , particularly the fact that the RF has not condemned this or previous articles gives credence to their claims

Yet when Kate was accused of getting Botox KP were quick to comment

Octopusmittens · 20/12/2022 12:09

He’s a repulsive individual and should be interviewed by the Police.

MotherofKitties · 20/12/2022 12:09

@Loudhousefun Why would any of the royals say anything about the JC article?

It's not about any members of the royal family, it's an opinion piece (and a very poor one at that), and Harry and Meghan have made it clear they don't trust or use the palaces' combined press offices or staff. If Harry and Meghan want to respond to the article they will do so themselves. They don't need to use an institution they fundamentally disagree with and are no longer associated with to do so on their behalf.

It’s his father for goodness sake, when did Harry stop being his son??? or did you forget that one little fact

Loudhousefun · 20/12/2022 12:14

Oh and the only reason they were having these disagreements was because the palace refused to step in when this happened before, ever thought about that? The bloody irony

MotherofKitties · 20/12/2022 12:17

I know he's his father. But Charles hasn't issued statements about articles regarding his children before, their own press teams have.

Given how Harry has spent a whole Netflix documentary criticising how his family have dealt with the press (and I'm not passing judgement on whether that's right or wrong here) why would Charles or other members of family then publicly comment now? It would make no sense and also, it's none of their business. Harry and Meghan have made it clear they want the media dealt with in a certain way when it comes to their own press, and that's fine - let them do that.

How many articles about his children or children-in-law have been this overtly grotesque or violent? I’ve never read a piece in a national newspaper suggesting Will or Harry are worse than a serial killer and should be paraded naked and pelted with excrement. I fully believe that were such a thing to be published about them or Kate, the Palace would go in all guns blazing.
